This thing is such a rocket! Had the pleasure to drive one and the thing is the funnest and sexiest 4 door car I have ever been in.
It actually shifts pretty quick for a regular automatic. The reason you said it shifts slow is because you were simply cruising around. When you give it full throttle and approach red line, it shifts a lot faster. Most Infiniti's do this actually.
JoshorBrownKid Shift speed definitely changes with amount of throttle, took a while to get used to it. If you are giving it light throttle it shifts very slow like demonstrated here but at heavy throttle the shifts are instantaneous
JoshorBrownKid yes. This is true.
This is 100% true. When upshifting while full/near full throttle, the upshifts can actually be quite aggressive. Much faster than when the car shifts on its own at full throttle
I'd disagree the transmission is nearly 2 generation behind the latest ZF offerings, this is the same transmission as the G37 simply tweaked a bit. Not only that but the transmission in the Q50 RS400 is running very close to the limits of rated operation (380-ft lbs) and the Q50 is putting an average of 375ft-lbs to the wheel according to most dynos.
JoshorBrownKid I was thinking the same thing
you are simply the best car reviewer on UA-cam. Very systematic and informative, yet fun to watch . Keep it up.
Its quite annoying to hear negative comments from people who doesn't own the car. Infiniti is far better than audi or Mercedes or bmw
kevin kevin agreed.
kevin kevin half dont know shit bout cars . F em all
I'm looking at the same, its boiling down to this infiniti has 100 more horses
If you are looking for an infiniti with red leather, Look for an IPL infiniti. Such as, the g37 coupe IPL. Optioned with a manual trans its a blast to drive, and a black car with red interior? Theyre beautiful. May be harder to find though!
Kevin Kevin
You're right about that most of the people leaving comments about this car don't even own it
I'm a proud owner of this car Coupe version and I love it I wouldn't dare think about getting a Mercedes or BMW or Lexus
i see the hard work in editing and i love it
I agree, it is missing quite a few things like powered trunk, ventilated seats, and update info system, but they are moving in the right direction
Beautiful, understated exterior. I could see this being a hot tuner car in a couple years.
good prediction 😂
Mans predicted the future
4 years ago and mans got it right on the money
True
Whats your prediction for stocks?. Jw lol
Really cool to see that they are using the same paddles and mounting position as the pre 2017 GTRs. One of my favorite feeling paddles of all time with quite a satisfying pull and click feeling. From inside the cockpit, that was one unique sounding acceleration. Have been waiting for this one. Awesome detailed review!
How could you not like this guy!
Impressive considering it's faster than the C43 AMG and 340i. Hustles to 100 MPH in 10.5s while the C43 AMG does it in 11.2s and the 340i does it in 11.6s. According to Car and Driver.
I’m in the market for a new car. I have an e39 but want something with similar performance and more reliably. Would you recommend this car?
@@KTBTVHD I got one a few months ago. Love driving it every day. Nissan/Infiniti have a reliable reputation and parts are readily available if needed. Performance is excellent for both highway cruising and twisty roads. There's also a lot of aftermarket support.
Chase Kinsey - Reliable? I keep hearing negative reviews in terms of reliability. When I worked for enterprise car rentals, it was nothing but Nissans and Chrysler’s but mostly nissans that we had to pull in and out of service
I got this car for $41000 so I feel it was a great choice and couldn't have got another car with this power and luxury at this price. It was a '16 RS400 RWD no DAS and no Navi.
I just purchased a 2018 RS, 57k msrp including carbon fiber package for 45k. Best bang for the buck hands down!
@DC Williams I'm enjoying it so far. I haven't had any issues with it but I only have a little over 2,000 miles on it so far. I bought the red sport coming from a 2007 Acura TL Type S. There are some key features that I feel it should have in this price range but I think that's why you're able to get such a big discount on them. Electronic parking brake, brake hold folding mirrors, rear seat heaters apple/android auto aren't available. With that being said there are some standard features on the red sport that cost a lot on other cars(360 camera, Auto dimming side mirrors, ability to personalize your performance settings, Dynamic digital suspension) one thing this car does very well is straight-line acceleration, it's actually laughable sometimes when taking off from a stand still. As far as handling goes you have to get rid of the stock Dunlop run-flats or find a red sport with the conventional tire package ($300 option). The dunlops are absolute garbage. New tires 100% completely transform the handling of the car and the digital Dynamic suspension on the red sport also helps. So far I'm very happy but coming from a 2007 TL compared to a 2015 BMW might feel a little different but I still think with the discount Infiniti is offering you aren't going to find a car this good this cheap.
@DC Williams yes! I Feel the same about the transmission. It's slow when driving slow but fast when you're driving aggressive. I just posted a 0-60 of my RS on my channel and you can clearly see how fast it shifts. Good luck on getting the price you want! It's a great car.
This car is 17k now
I would much rather have the red sport over a lot of cars. Looks good, great daily driver, luxurious ride, super reliable and fast as hell!!!
totally agree. The Q50 needs better, more direct steering, a better, faster shifting transmission, a limited slip diff, and and redesigned dash.
Hey subaruwrxfan. I've always been Nissan/Infiniti cars fan. Not sure if you know, but Infiniti Q50 has 'adaptive transmission' so when you don't push it, transmission adjust to your driving behavior. Hence, slow shifting. However, when you push the petal to the metal, the shifts are quick enough. i think this Q50 Red Sport 400 is the fastest sedan right now (do not mention M3) and may be expensive new, but buy it used 1-2 years. Prices drop tremendously. I'm doing my research right now, and I found one for $37k and 20k miles. Like your videos. Just add more exhaust notes. Thanks and keep up the good work.
mlgt23 just got a 2016 premium 3.0t for 26k with 34k miles and i love it
true and these cars have so much tuning potential!!!
That cabin noise on your first acceleration sounded awesome!!doesn't sound too bad from the back of the exhaust but damn lol
9:25
your vids are always great man, i recently started my own channel, a random channel but id be telling a lie if i was to say your channel didn't make me want to start my own. keep up the good work.
Am I the only one who thought the Red Sport only came in red? Lol, awesome video Matt! Keep up the good work!
you are probably one of very few bright ones.. kudos
It's actually a pretty good transmission. Infiniti programmed the manual up-shifts to be slow when upshifting under very little throttle application for comfort (e.g. When Matt demonstrated the slow upshifts). However when under heavier throttle applications the upshifts are much faster (e.g Matt's initial acceleration run).
It is not slower to 60 then a Bmw 340, which is 4.6 secs. This does 4.5 and even outran an E43 AMG on TFL drag test
Got one... Yes it's quicker than the 340 and the E43... The AWD is a tenth or 2 faster than 4.5 as well
@Presa Jo they getting cheap. Seen red sport for 26-28k
I like the shot of the engine in the introduction and saying what engine it has. Nice touch for your introductions!
I've seen the Red Sport 400 for as low as $48,000. As long as you can buy one for under $55,000 it's a great value.
My dad just a RWD version of this car. Plans to boost it,put a intake, and a Exhuast. He loves it
I hope you get your hands on one of those sweet new Alfa sedans with the 500 HP.
Me too! So pumped for those.
The Gulia
After having a G37x for 3 years, and now a Q50 3.0t, you have to learn to mash the gas, shift early, and shift at the same time. The transmission is made for just that and it will pull 100% through the shift. Probably faster than anyone would manage in a stick. Try it. I much prefer the G37x because it feels connected to the road, the near perfect steering could actually use a lighter mode for commuting, and is all around more fun under 50mph. However, the twin turbo's are VERY noticeable above 50mph and way above 50mph. The Q50 3.0T is geared way too high. Drive it light and it gets 26mpg, but with normal spirited driving I'm getting 3-4mpg less than my G37x. I had a 3.7 Q50 as a loaner and got much worse gas mileage than both. They also need to make the 3.0T noisy enough so that you don't have to abuse it to hear it. Even if it was through the speakers I'd take it... Intouch is completely useless. I might be old school, but all the buttons feel the same. I could change every setting in my '82 escort without looking. 20" of screen and you have to dig through menu after menu. Just try and get to that almost neat driving performance screen which should be in the top screen btw.
There's a factory diffuser kit that makes it much sportier. There's an auto mode for the steering wheel heat, took me a while to find it too, but works great. Auto on the seats is perfect too (other settings are mostly too hot). Surprised at your review of the suspension. After a week or so I started pushing it until it activated the DDS. I couldn't get the car to slide or anywhere near its limits. You need to be on a track because I'd only describe it as like a video game. I took my cousin who's driven just about everything out, and he couldn't believe how fast we went through some S's. I think he screamed "okay I have children!" at one point.
skyrunr skyrunr when you had your G37 did you try putting it in snow for commuting? I'm asking because I have a G25x. I thought the 25x would be a better choice because it has a smoother tranny and better for commuting but it quickly realized you need the power and the options it seems like you can't win with cars
Run Nokian WG4 all season V rated tires and set the snow mode (applies power 50/50 instead of 30/70). The more I drive my Q50 AWD the more I miss my G37x. There are all sorts of little annoying quirks with the displays and drive modes. I didn't realize this until someone commented how much they love their old V8 truck. I just don't get that grin in the Q50 versus the G37x.
Do you miss it enough to trade the q50 in for it back? That's the real question lol
I would in a second, if it was a financial wash. The buy-out was really high on my G's lease. I think I can tune the 3.0T to be closer to the 400's specs, but the G37x was nice out of the box. Which is why I buy luxury cars; so I don't have to do anything to them. ;)
Just got my 2016 Nissan Maxima. But I still want you to review one. Lol.
Hi. Its actually funny that last time you reviewed this car with 3.7 engine, it would have been 10 out of 10 for you if it had more power... Now they give you 400hp, nothing else changed in this car and all of the sudden its not such a good choice. Hmmm... either way, I know that they will put the double clutch 7 speed from the new Qx30 into this car very soon, according to the dealer. Will be a blast. Also, you can lease these for way under $500/month for red sport, which is way less then comparable Germans or others.
Yeah, it's funny because I was expecting to like this car a lot more than I did. Either the AWD from this one saps all the fun (the 2015 model I reviewed was RWD), or something changed with the suspension tuning for the Red Sport version that made it worse. Either that or I've just driven a lot of awesome sport sedans in the past year and a half since I reviewed the older Q50 and am not as easily impressed now that I've experienced more enjoyable sedans for the same money. As for the 7 speed, if it's the Mercedes unit, it'll shift faster but then it'll have the same problem I complained about in my CLA45 AMG review. The clutch engagement from a stop is laggy. In my opinion, offering a manual and a ZF 8 speed would be the best 2 transmissions for this car.
Thanks, Mat. Everybody seems not to like the Red400... Have to actually test it because I'm enjoying my 3.7 AWD, its a lot of fun and transmission is not too bad in it, with time it adapted to the way I drive as well as gas pedal, plus I have the convectional steering rack set up, which is great too. But once this one is over, considering the VW R, not sure how it will stand up to the luxury standard that Q has as performance should be on par...
Lots of people talk shit about Infiniti's dual screen layout, but I personally like it since I can keep radio info & navigation on at the same time. The exterior is also the best of all the Japanese premium sedans, but the rear-end can use a diffuser on the sport model. The interior's only let down is the leather is plentiful, they feel thin & hollow when compared to Mercedes or Lexus; I had a tester that with only ~25000miles with noticeable nicks in the doors & seats. Not good.
I drove a 2015 Q50S Hybrid with DAS, but had no adaptive dampers. DAS is quite nice, which I find odd so much car reviewers hate it. When in sport mode, it feels better then the Electronic power steering employed by other marques. The ride is on the rough side; I was fine by my sister who rode with me complained about it on the highway, as well as higher than average noise. The 3.5 Hybrid V6 for me was the best feature; you can get 30MPG avg. in city, smooth start-stop, regenerative braking backed with Akebono-sourced brakes, and flooring it yields 360hp + 400lb/ft of instant electric torque. I can only imagine how the even more powerful 3.0TT would be like.

Any reviews of some older sports cars? Rx7, supra m3? Would love to see something old but cool. Keep up the good work mate
Hoping to do an RX7 and old M3s in the spring. Still no offers for Supras unfortunately.
To me, transmission on this one shifts pretty darn quick. Nissan has the best old fashion torque converter transmission out there.
Too bad the new engine does not have the same growl like the old VQ engine
richbf2 I know. I have a G37x sedan and drove new q50 with the VR, it's nice but quiet for me.
0-60 in 4.5 seconds wow. This car is a real sleeper. I am not into the styling, not for me, but still a cool car.
A 60k sleeper?
Admiral Ackbar yeah. Subtle looks, fast performance.
Prince David
A sleeper is a car that is dirt cheap and everyone knows is slow, but is modded the fuck out of. Like a minivan, a bus or a camry. A vehicle such as this that is very fast even without a sports package is not a sleeper, it's a luxury car. Infinity and lexus are luxury japanese brands. Most luxury cars are not only comfortable but also fast.
Admiral Ackbar No. A sleeper car doesn't have to be cheap. It just has to be unassuming. It's a sleeper because you don't expect such a bland car to be so fast.
I don't consider any Infiniti from 2003+ (G35/G37, FX35 etc.) to be bland. Someone who knows a little about cars will know that a VQ V6 engine is no slouch, even stock.
Back to this car a year later and you can buy these used with low mileage for less than 25k. At that price this thing shines.
Brandon L the cheapest red sport one I can find in Miami is $31k. What state do you live in where you see them for less than 25k?
xYesterday I bought a 2016 black Red Sport Q50 for $36,900 with 9K miles on it. CarMax
i came back to this review and i noticed that this car is priced below the competition. what makes it expensive is all the driver assistance tech that's optional and there's very little reviewers that show how good those actually work. i seen a review where the reviewer actually let the car drive itself. nissan/infiniti poineered alot of tech that other car manufacturers often follow and that's why there tech package make their cars pricy cause of R&D. this DAS tech is gonna be the future of autonomous driving one day and i don't think infiniti going get the credit for it until one of the germans do it because of brand. car enthusiasts are not the best reviewers for all cars as they focus mainly on power and driving dynamics and that's the entire review of most cars these days. i think to make these channels more objectionable, these reviewers should do real world testing with real people. like have your wife/gf/bf or just a friend drive the car, use the tech and compare the different stimuli derived from it's total operation. it'll give these channel a less bias stance in terms of driving dynamics to a regular guy in comparison to an enthusiast and much more use of its tech so us viewers can really see the full functionality of it's options/package which we'll pay more money for. it goes for all cars, not just this infiniti. I'm yet to see how FEB alerts the driver or actually works...i did saw in other review non American the lane keep assist and stopping itself. it'll make for a more rounded review and justification of price for these luxury sport cars
That engine would be incredible in the 370z
My thoughts exactly.
It could be the 300Z
Or um.... Any car
It would be called a 300tz iykyk
Katrina Balanchuk yup!
Agreed with everything you pointed out in this video. Infiniti used to have a more sporty edge and power in the past like the G35 and G37 but it kinda seems now they don't know which side to take weather it be sporty or comfort so they ended up in a weird spot trying to compromise. Let's hope they bring back their sporty side once again
That adaptive steering option sounds like a huge repair bill when it breaks.
infinity Q70 should be a great one to review.
Matt, for the upshift to be quicker, you gotta be on the throttle at least 60% then the upshifts will be quicker. If you are steady on the throttle and you upshift then it will upshift slower.
This exact Infiniti is the best looking one I've seen
Been waiting for this! nice vid man keep it up and goodluck !
Finally! , Thanks for the review matt
Like you Matt I love the looks of the car. I am a current G37 owner and hope you are able to do a review of one someday. I was considering getting one of these as my next car but now I am not so sure. For the price there are a lot of other good options. Going to have to wait and see what the prices are in the used market.
Great reviews! I saw you also did a review for is IS-F. Would you prefer the Q50S Red Sport over the IS-F? Looking at getting either of these and would love your feedback!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the reviews! As long as you don't mind the older technology in the IS-F I think it's more fun to drive than the Q60 thanks to the V8.
If you compare this review to your other Lexus GS F review you aren't as excited in the power. You say the shifting and trans is basically decent. You are super excited with the GS F. They have the same 0-60 times and the Q50 is 0.1 sec faster in the 1/4 mile. Sometimes you can't just go by the feel or sound.
R.I.P to the original Infiniti exhaust sound
Evo318 ; I have G37 with a Tanabe exhaust. It enhanced the already great VQ sound!
This car is gorgeous and fast. I'd take it in a heartbeat over the ugly RCF, even if I got a good deal on the latter.
Not gonna lie when you floored it, from inside the car it sounded like a car in that old arcade racing game .
Sorry but I saw your snap and had to come .. this car looks damn good !
jatco transmission gets better over time. the algorithm based Ecu takes time to learn your driving style before the transmission can adjust itself to be quicker. it's better than it feels on the onset but still needs to be seriously updated.
I appreciate the enthusiasm you have for these car reviews. But I really wish you have something more profound to say then really great and really good and awesome. I think when you talk about how a car looks you should do more research for the design language and the reasons behind why things are executed the way they are . Most of the time you are just throwing out adjectives that may or may not be an objective or informative piece of information. Anyway keep up the good work and do more reviews with more research behind them
You got to remember that This isn't a 100k Mercedes. This car is aimed towards people who have their mind set on a mid range luxury performance car and yeah some things in this car can be arguably cheap IMO but I feel this sacrifice was made to put more money into that wonderful engine. You will not normally get what your money is worth. I mean its like if I spend $2500 on a MacBook I expect it to have actual ports! :P Again this is all my opinion and will be different from yours but for what its worth this car deserves some good attention and love even if its 63k-66k and is steer by wire..
The cheaper Infiniti Q50 with the more basic 2.0t engine is actually sourced from Mercedes-Benz (the MB M274 engine), believe it or not. I don't understand why, especially since their direct compeititors, but it is rather cool to see some German flair injected into (of all things) an Infiniti.
I think the AWD version weights a little over 4,000lbs and tires are 245 all around. the specs you mention's for the RWD
The used 2016 models now go for 15-25K$ excellent value for a fun and surprisingly quick luxury car , especially if you can pick one up at lower mileage and end of price range
is it better than lexus is cuz im about to get one of these
Killerket good question. But answer depends on what you preference is. I think if you take good care of it, change engine oil every 5K the twin turbos and engine will last you a good time. It’s a fast car for sure, lexus May be slower, but toyota has made good and reliable cars for a while. It’s personal choice really
Killerket I would also try to snag one with a later year, that way you have 4 year/40K warranty still on it, it transfers to second/third owner etc
Can you do the q60 or do you view the cars as too similar? Great reviews as always pal.
Are you ever going to do the q60?
How do these compare to the CTS V-Sport? I'm cross shopping the two, CPO for both you get either below $40k.
9:19
Once you turn onto that backroad...
shit's on!!!
#2024 im sitting in my infiniti Q50 watching this video I most definitely want the RED SPORT next i know if the regular infiniti is fast, i can just imagine what the RED SPORT do
man, with a price tag of 63K-66K loaded up you might as well for for a base ATS-V or RCF which both offer superior driving dynamics, FAR better material quality on the interior, and they offer far more performance. the Q50/Q60 have simply gone crazy in terms of pricing which is unjustified when the majority of the interior is injection mold and pleather.
63K ATS V

both are brand new 100% stock.
"no the interior quality of the ATS and RCF are not better than Q50's."
*factually incorrect, the ATSV offers carbon, nappa leather, suede, suede headliner, uniqe switch gear, and uses far less plastic when compared to the Q60/Q50 where the entire middle dash is injection mold, the center console is injection mold stitched (its a soft plastic) and the upper / upper mid door are injection mold, top dash is injection mold. your position on this is not factual and its fallacious.*
"And buttons and knobs feel just as plasticky and cheap as the lower trim ATS's."
*if the buttons feel cheap and plasticy than the recycled nissan sentra controls must feel like pure trash in the Q50*
"Sqeaky steering wheel,"
*and ironically that was the only flaw he could find, he was so impressed with the ATS V he said he would buy one if he had the money.*
"You pay 80+ grand for a car "
*actually 62K*
"They didn't even tune the suspension or chassis to compete with the M3/ATSV/RCF."
*they just put the price tag so high that it was expected to have some of these features, sadly it did not and seeing as more than 60% of these will leave the show room floor fully loaded many people will have the option to get an RCF or ATSV for that price point which offers better materials, more performance, and more luxury.*
" Which by the way, EVERYONE comments on how freaking quick it is."
*anecdotal evidence? well i will use my own, the majority of reviewers (like alex on autos, redline reviews, and SWRXFAN) were all disappointed with its performance per dollar in the redsport trim.*
"And the price of entry is what it is. If you want to talk about buying a "base" something, ok apply that logic to the Q50/60 and buy the base."
*that was never my argument my inept friend, be logical now, more than 60% of these will leave the show room floor at this price point, my argument was that people have much better options out there with the ATSV and RCF for that price point.*
*in conclusion your entire argument has been refuted, your position is fallacious, and you failed to make a proper coherent point.*
+777PharmD777 He refuted every single one of your arguments and your response is to just mute him? LOL, I hope you realize how this makes you look...
you know whats funny to, he also up-voted his own comments.
wait you just claimed i don't substantiate my claims? you claimed there were no ATS-V's for 63K, i produced them for you. you claimed the switch gear was just as good and i showed you where the Q60/50's switch gear comes from, then you claimed its super fast based off anecdotal evidence i said to look at meta data and facts, you refused of course.
so your finally reply is to say "BITCH MUTED" *talk about living in an echo chamber.*
justin bouche yes but people who will buy this will not consider the Ats-v they will consider the cts and the Lexus IS or GS, it's a slightly sporty luxury sedan
When he accelerated the 300c srt8 he got way more excited that means the 2006 300c srt8 is faster? And more fun to drive?
Please review the q5s Audi, love your reviews btw!
@Subaruwrx You should review a nismo 370z 2016-17. Would be nice! Love your videos btw! Huge fan!
Would you get this one or a Acura TLX for the price, power and luxury? Please help!
The transmission shifts quite quickly under acceleration. Just not at partial throttle.
Vlican Most driving is done at top gear, while not shifting gears. Most gear shifting is done during acceleration. Therefore, I don't see why it really matters if a car doesn't have lightning fast shifts at partial throttle.
That thing sounds great from interior!!
I like the sound of the 3.7L a lot better.
Apparently, you neglected to mention that the inside of the center console can get really dirty..
If you know anything about infinitis you know that 7 speed will shift faster for you (predict) under heavier throttle. It's an old school regular auto, sure not as fast as a DSG but execution for a sports" sedan is pretty descent.
can you start a rating system for your cars? like out of 10?
You should show the speedometer when you floor it
Then we wouldn't be able to see his acceleration reactions
God it sounds like fucking Gran Turismo. Awful interior sound effects, wish companies would get rid of that.
NubletPie202 it can be disabled.
What car is the Infinity Sedan that has the GTR engine? It's a concept but I think it's called a Rouge somethng.
www.caranddriver.com/reviews/infiniti-q50-eau-rouge-concept-first-drive-review
Weird that the front door cards are black and the back tan...
They need to give this thing some nismo love
I just bought a 2019 q50 signature with 300hp and it's a beast !!!
I believe it
Very nice car but not up to the very stiff competition at the price imo. Great paint though, and engine. Nice review.
I had a 2009 G37x and the 7 speed was awful compared to my 2012 X5 35i with the 8 speed transmission. Also, sometimes the transmission would get confused and not go into any gear which I found out was common. These cars are great but Nissan should bail on this transmission now and go with ZF or the 10 speed developed by GM and Ford.
Ive really been waiting for this one! thanks Matt!
I’m looking to buy one I see a 2017 for 27,000 I’m deciding betweeen the red sport or the regular 3.0t there cheaper any suggestions
Which one did you get and any regrets ?
M35
How do you propose they make the interior gauges "more aggressive"?
Come on now.
that "padded leather" by the drivers knee is stitched injection mold not leather.
what?
If you consider buying this car, the MPG shouldn't be a dealbreaker. Remember, its premium gasoline only!
That's weird didn't see the video in my sub box ? I saw u put something up on Instagram about sniping .
That's weird. I've been hearing that UA-cam has been messing up with subscriptions recently. I suggest signing up for notifications if they don't bother you too much so you don't miss anything.
honestly rather save my money and get an is350 f sport
HodsBroo This would smoke the is350...
wish this car had that G37 steering and please review the q70 sport.
I’m in the market for a new car. I have an e39 but want something with similar performance and more reliably. Would you recommend this car? Anyone?
If they put a dual clutch this would be so much faster
Is it possible to install one or not pos?
Can you drive the C450/C43 AMG 4Matic?
I'd love to. Mercedes won't lend me press cars and no one has offered them unfortunately.
subaruwrxfan I have a C450 in the Boston area if you are ever here.
Didnt know you could run a staggered setup on an AWD
Time for you to review the 2017 Q60
I've leased a G37 coupe, Nissan 370Z and now a Q50 for the past five years and all three cars have the same engine and automatic transmission. My opinion is this auto transmission is definitely not the bright spot. Nissan/Infiniti needs badly to replace this current transmission with a better and faster one.
Have you reviewed a bmw 340i yet?
Matt...not a lot if enthusiasm for this one, huh.
Klasse Act its a Nissan...
good thing it isn't a vdub
The motor sounds in the interior are somewhat like the move "Speed Racer" - I wonder if they are "enhancing" the sounds... I was checking out the couple when shopping for a SUV for my wife - I'd consider one of these (in couple form) vs. a Mustang (I would be looking for a "GT Car" not really a sport car - so a long distance cruiser). I'd say that Ford could still win in my mind after the 10 speed auto, dual mode exhaust, magnetic dampeners, and normally aspirated V8 motor - if only Ford would offer AWD in the Mustang and I'd be completely sold.... Driving an Edge Sport now but miss my '15 Mustang GT Performance Pack. The Q50 price really isn't that bad - options push the competition up - especially in the Jag where some stand alone options are quite pricey. The BMW's base price might be competitive but by the time you add X-Drive and some nice to have options you're looking at $80k+.... Good review Matt - keep up the great work!
I'm loving this car... it's going to be toy in Jamaica
Toy**
you should try and get a G80 sport to review
Try to get into a Q60 Coupe Red sport 400 AWD
Is this car nicer than a WRX?
Oh this has been a long time coming about time Infiniti~! Such a shame about the transmissions though, although Nissan did just get majority shares with Mitsubishi and they
have a solid Dual-clutch that could replace the 7-speed Auto. Oh well lets hope they throw the engine in the new Z if and when they decide to refresh it.
Just two more years and the 370z will have been for sale for 10 straight years. That's absurd. With a company as big as they are, they have cash to throw around for new vehicle platforms. Nissan is really bad about not updating vehicles. The current Nissan Frontier is the same exact truck starting from the model year 2005. 2017 models look no different than the 2005. It's ridiculous!
Yep probably won't see the new Z until 2018 though Nissan wouldn't want it eating into the Q50/60 sales. Such a shame :(
You should review the Infiniti QX4.
Are you gonna do a Ford Mustang/SS Camaro giveaway? :P
I cant wait to get a 2014/15 Q50S in black. That is a goal for this year, this 2016 is nice as well. I saw one of these personally in blue but it wasn't a red sport. It was the 3.0
DaOldSchoolRapLova96 if you can afford it, the 2017 will drop in $ since the 2018 is coming out
Brandon Evans yey but I still don't think il beable to afford the 16/17 years. They'll be in the 40s but the 14/15 model years FULLY LOADED are in the late 20s
yeah, you are right about that. I got my 2013 G37x for about 22K, it was a certified preowned leased model with 19,900 miles.
Brandon Evans why didnt you get a Q50?
isnt this considered a skyline?
ohChrs In Japan it is!
