Idk him personally, but when I started having anxiety like him I eventually realized that I had to stop smoking...
The weed that is around now is nothing like the weed from like 15 years ago that just made you giggle .. the weed now is just too potent and the high is just too intense and is not fun at all anymore... And when I quit it got a little bit better... I didnt stop having anxiety all together but the weed definitely wasn't helping at all

Yo I am listening to soooo many hate and make fun of his rant but honestly - I didn’t even know this guy before seeing this so I have no opinion personally w him - but I looked him up and he’s a successful millionaire and rising star …. Most of our elite “celebrities “ have TEAMS of PR firms and publicist and other media hacks paid tons to cover up , hide , and make problems disappear so that their client looks like a great person. At least he said what he was thinking and spoke openly and honestly …
That is a real person. And everyone commenting and being sarcastic or snarky is f’ing nuts cause their lives are far far far from perfect and yet he didn’t do what most fake ass rich celebrities do and he’s now a joke to everyone?
It’s not nice. And not fair. He coulda just blew himself the entire interview and projected that life is perfect and most people would blindly clap and suck D and he spoke like he would to a friend and was honest - We need more of this rather than more of the bottom feeders hating while most likely the people speaking are spouse less and make no money and pretend things are great becuase they are narcissistic

You gotta love Joe for using kid gloves and really trying to help him to the best of his ability.
“You wanna be like me? You know what you need to do? Do that thing that you know you should do every time, and then there isn’t anxiety and relaxation can be relaxing.”
Life is hard for everybody, and worrying about how hard it is for you right now really misses the whole point.
If you come up with a reason why you’re the way you are and only focus on that, you’ll believe it whether or not it’s true.
Beware of excuses or explanations because the problem isn’t whether or not anybody else believes it, nor is the problem whether or not it’s true. The problem is when you believe it.

And I still don't believe I've met and know the real version of who she is. Cause she's so involved with every single thought she has she doesn't have time to live in the moment and just be. Or at the very most those times are very few and not for long.

Nah. He definitely needs to be diagnosed by an actual medical professional but at 50:21 Chris is explaining to a T what "Health Anxiety" or "Hypochondriac Disorder" is. It's no joke. Normal body feelings like a headache or a stomach ache or dizziness can send you into a full blown panic attack. The real kind, where you truly believe you're dying.
I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia and eventually developed Health Anxiety. I didn't leave my house for more than 2 years, from 2021 to 2023.
For him it could be any number of things, he catastrophizes. That's a symptom of many different conditions.
He for sure needs more than a therapist though, I tried a lot of medications, which works great for a lot of people but not me. Ended up with a psychologist (A therapist will a "real" degree) and a psychiatrist.

This whole episode is helpful explaining how one's struggles with anxiety manifest in daily life. I'm so glad Joe brought up Abigail to Chris and how obsessing about our problems doesnt help- it actually makes things worse. I've learned this is VERY true. CBT really works! The book FEELING GOOD by Dr. David D. Burns is great! Even some woo woo versions such as the The Secret by Rhonda Byrne can really help people depending on what they relate to most.

Glad I tuned in to this episode. Listening to Chris open up about his anxiety and how his brain was his biggest enemy when he was younger was very helpful and relatable. As a 23 year old I too went through a similar experiences in my recent and past relationship. My anxiety really controlled me during that relationship with my ex. We broke up not too long ago and I also went through the “I cant live like this, I’m going to off myself” moment because it really is no way to live. Luckily, I moved to Colorado the year we broke up and it being a weed legal state we lived 4 minutes from a dispensary. Everyday for a year I was smoking and getting high. Weed really helped me escape from my "normal" brain but I still wanted to die from the fact that I couldn’t live "normally" or do it without the help of some form of drug . Luckily I studied myself and really wanted to get better. I did research. I watched countless videos, read so many self help books to find a solutions to try and cure my brain. Sadly, theres no clear cut answer to our brain problems because the brain is so complex. Theres also alot of factors that determine how a brain functions. ie. Diet, Sleep habits, environment, childhood trauma, mental illness such as add/adhd etc… Slowly but surely I’m figuring myself out and gaining control over my anxiety and other mental issues I face. It just takes time and a really open mindset. It's not easy but you really need to have a drive to want to be better you also need lots of help from your friends and loved ones.

I find him very relatable. I think many of us can relate to having signs of anxiety around for a while but not knowing that's what it was or what triggers it and all the other things it effects 'normal', day to day living. I bit my nails as a child, got diagnosed with anxiety in college but it didn't really peak that it was driving my life until I started working as a social worker and had nightmares of clients strangling me over my desk.
Like Chris, I was creative and athletic. I had outlets as a kid and teenager but when you are an adult and it just piles on every day... lol. It's rough living.

One time I remember having to duck for cover in the driver seat of my car hiding in fear because I imagined/thought this random stranger parked in-front of me was pulling a rifle out of his trunk to shoot up the place. In reality he was just loading in his groceries. I can’t figure out why I thought that way but its instances like that that really affected my life I rarely went out and if I did I always made sure i’d go super early or very late. If i went out with friends or family I always had to make sure I sat at a spot where I can have full view of the room and at a good distance from the exit.

I been a fan since History Hyenas and I'll always be a fan. I low-key started feeling really bad for Chris when he was talking about the self sabotage. It made me sad and I felt for him when he said he hurt his family. I'm glad he was able to figure it out tho and not go completely off the deep end.
