Thats a great fuse block, one pos and neg in then 8 outs for each. Definitely good for motorcycles and small off grid solar installs. hippo hands or other bar muffs make an even bigger difference than heated grips. both together is like heaven.
Thanks. I've seen hippo hands before but never looked into getting them. I bet that would really make it nice. I don't know how i would adjust to that perceived loss of my hands on the handlebars. Thanks for the comment!
Hey Keith ( it's Keith ) Man I am so ready for winter to be over already awesome mods to the WR,, great fuse block ,,good idea ride safe my motorcycle brother ,,,liked ( thumbs up )
Thanks Keith! You have it so much worse. Normally this time in March we would be doing some riding here in Massachusetts. But it's only been in the teens here with wind chills well below that. And more snow predicted in a couple days. No end in sight...
Let's get together next month to do some riding. I live in Belchertown. (2012 wr250r). I just purchase a 2017 yz450fx from Rays Cycle in Greenfield. Can't wait for warmer weather. :)
You prolly dont care but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few weeks :)
great video , I have a air pump system to rise my bike and the pump dont work anymore due to the switch was left on, I guess. I looked for a fuse a did not find one, I guess the installer put it direct, I need your help in how to install it the proper way and ( I do not have that much knowledge with electric but I am a fast learner). after seeing this video I feel inspired, thanks, Wil.
Thanks for the comment Wil. I bet a fuse block would help and they are not that difficult to install. If you can connect a wire, you can do it. Good luck.
Hi Keith, after receiving the Centech AP-1 fuse block I noticed the underside of the circuit board is completely exposed. Did you cover the bottom with something like electrical tape to prevent it from shorting out if it were to touch metal?
Hi, no, I didn't do that. It's sitting on top of a plastic housing. I used the same fuse block on my old KLR650 and installed it the same way. Never a problem. You could probably put some electrical tape over it, but I haven't and am not worried about it. Good question, thanks!
Great video, thanks! Question... What did you tap into for your relays switched power? I'm behind my headlight at the moment installing heated grips. I'm planning to put a fused line to the battery but I'd like to install a relay to make it switched. Any other tips? Thanks again!
I think it's worked out okay without one. There's a relay to keep the heated grips from draining the battery. The other accessories tied to the fuse box are not really a risk of draining it. Would there be another reason to add a relay?
the relay doesn't protect the battery from draining. the relay will direct full battery power from the battery your fuse block. from the fuse box, you can send the power to many different accessories. this relay can be controlled by a very low power circuit that is switched with the key so that the circuits are not on all the time. especially when you are running high current accessories like heated grips. you can not do that or you will burn out the switched cables that cannot handle that kind of current draw. hope that helps

You explained it perfectly and now I feel ready to do the same install as you. Thanks for making this.
Thanks Brent. Everything worked out really well on the install and no issues at all running the bike all season.

I live in Btown too, looking to buy a WR in the next few months
Great video. Just ordered the Centech 2 for my Tenere. Thanks for the review.

haven't seen you in awhile, did you sell your super tenere?
No, I still have it. 38,000 miles. Ride it to work yesterday. I just ran out of content ideas and inspiration.
is the trickle charger plugged into the fuse box or straight on the terminal?
The trickle charger plug is wired into the fuse box. That's how I store it over the off-season and it keeps the battery charged.

Man you should be using a relay to control that fuse box
