I was born in Steubenville, OH, moved to Bed Stuy (Brooklyn) @ 10 (where I learned who Trump really was, by 12 because I thought he was a "self made" man, but figured out he was a snake like someone I learned about in J.H.S. 294 (his name was George C Parker like Trump he was also a con man - The man who "sold" The Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Ulysses Grant's tomb to many people & they bought it).
Then after moving to Springfield, MO in 1989 I was hit with THE MO "SHOW ME STATE", Got tired of that and would hit back with, I am from OHIO THE FIX 'YOU' STATE'. Yeah, I made it up, but I LOVE OHIO...MY HOME STATE/BUCKEYE FOREVER.... but, Just as here in MO, I just don't understand people putting up with Vance (and several other office holders there). I wish people, ESPECIALLY jd vance, would stop referring to him/himself as a child of Appalachia. He is from MIDDLETOWN OHIO. It sits smack dab in the "middle" of Dayton and Cincinnati. 30 minutes in either direction, even from the most rural parts. It's not like he was raised in a one room cabin, plucking his banjo on the porch and planning a days journey with the mule team to get what little groceries he could afford. He may be a rube, but he certainly isn't a hillbilly.
He’s barely a Marine. Vance loves to play that role like he saw several tours of active duty. Not. He wrote press releases from a comfortable office for few months in North or South Carolina.

Good for Vance for choosing to get a college education. He joined the military and used its benefits to get a college degree. He no doubt benefitted from Yale's DEI policies when he received a nearly full scholarship. You see, diversity, equity and inclusion doesn't just help racial minorities. It also helps those from any disadvantaged background, and helps a university make its student body look more like the population of the country as a whole, not just legacy and wealthy students who've attended elite prep schools.
