- The Christ Embassy church building in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State, reportedly caught fire on the morning of Sunday, June 23, 2024. Videos from the scene circulated online, showing officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service working to extinguish the blaze. Worshippers were redirected, and no lives were lost. The founding pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, in his global service message, stated that incidents like this are opportunities given by God for people to act. He announced that the church plans to clear the site and construct a better and more beautiful edifice. He also mentioned that the fire incident was not an accident but part of God's plan.

Most of you that spit nonsense about him don't even know him. You only watch what your news media and what you have been told about him. If you know the man pastor Chris you will never think just one church building burnt down is a factor. If he decides to build ten of the same building all at once he won't even take a pin out. And for those of you who thinks he should feed the poor, a message for you he has more poor people he feeds and send to school on scholarship that the Nigerian government.
He's still feeding and sending their children to school free of charge. Building schools that their children attend for free and hospitals in the pipeline. He's even doing more than the government.
Make sure you build it with your money, not gullible people.
