Mitch is really good man the only thing that’s stopping him is him. I feel dude is cocky and stubborn but he’s also young so it makes sense. He’s gotta learn
His standup is crisp. He was piecing him up until Hadley got on his back.. He seems to struggle positionally there.
@@puntsize Mitch has Tommy Texeira (phenomenal grappler, I've rolled with him myself) and not too far away is Joe Lauzon's group. This Hadley kid just wanted it more on all sides of the fight.

They were criticizing Hadleys block but I loved them. Classic educated blocks. So many fighters just eat fists and this dude is relying on the basics and avoiding them. Smart fighting.

man. I'll tell ya... Impressed by Mitch. Raposo will make the UFC someday... Kid has clear potential. Got a LIL lazy during that takedown (possibly tired from pressure Hadley put on) but great performance for both these young men. This easily could have been on the undercard of a real ufc event. Excited to see Hadley make his debut. Hope he has worked on his defense a little, raising his arm like that will get him exposed in the big leagues. 1 liver shot will end his night.
dustin poirier actually defends the same way and makes this guard work at the highest level, you can looke at his fight against max holloway, max even comes bsck to his corner and tells his coaches:" he blocks weird" and u could tell that the guard was giving him problems setting his combinations off, as he tried to shove dustins arm out the so he could get his punches through

Like many on here, very impressed with Mitch.
One thing I like about Jake is that unless you can knock him out, you can never let a fight go to the judges with him.

Can’t believe Mitch’s corner didn’t tell him to go to the body more. Hadley leaves it wide open every time he covers up. He’s going to get worked in the UFC with his style.

Nah if you get good with using your elbows to block it’s way better than just putting your arms up and using your hands, at least for MMA.
If someone throws a haymaker and hits your elbow they’re breaking their hands and even if they don’t it hurts so bad even with 12oz gloves, never mind 4os gloves.
If you just put your hands up in MMA you don’t block anything with these small gloves. Poirier is one of the best at using his elbows to block.

dustin porier does the same thing and hasn't paid for it, if u look at his fight against max holloway he rly gives max problems with that guard, max even comes back to his corner saying that dustin blocks weird, also i think it's hard to hit a southpaws liver for some reason, i'm a southpaw and ppl can't seem to hit my liver, also i've never seen a southpaw get hurt or dropped by a liver shot
