Glutten free bread

Enjoy!

Can I use tigernut flour for the starter ?
The video's proportions did not work for me. Here's what did: 2 Cups water, 1/3 Cup starter, 1 tsp. sea salt to mix, then add 2-1/4 Cups GF flour (not 3-5/8). Follow video for starter and bake for 40 minutes covered and 5 minutes uncovered. Good luck either way!
Thanks for your feedback
Which gluten free flour you have used? Could you share please? And how was the taste ?
@@vigour09 Taste was yummy using flour same as video!
👍 And did you write somewhere whether and how to store such a starter in the refrigerator? Thanks.
Just like any sourdough starter in a clean glass jar or plastic food grade jar
Thank you! I've been interested in making GF sourdough bread but all the recipes call for discarding most of it everyday. G F flour is too expensive for me to be comfortable throwing away so much
Yes you don’t have to discard! Enjoy the recipe!
Hi I am wondering about how to get the right consistency to form it into a loaf before baking. I have tried twice now and both times have had trouble getting the 3 5/8 flour to fully mix without the whole loaf just crumbling when I touch it. Any tips? Thank you so much!
If your loaf needs a little more hydration just add a little at a time
do you close the jar whenever you add the flour and water for the every 24hrs part?
No
Fantastic! Do you have more GF videos?
Not yet!
Is the cooking temperature also 450F when you put the bread inside the Dutch oven?
Yes
Are you using all purpose or regular king Arthur’s ? Ty
The gluten free king Arthur’s flour
How do you feed it afterwards to keep it alive?
You have to feed the sourdough starter once a week and keep it in the fridge
What should I do with the extra starter? Thank you.
Keep it to make more bread
@@AKneadtoBake Do I feed it everyday? 1 tablespoons of water and 2 tablespoons of gluten free flour? Or do I store it in the refrigerator and don’t feed it? Thank you 😊
Keep it in the fridge and feed it every 10 days if you don’t use it
after the first few days of your starter you can use the discards to make waffles, pancakes, biscuits, etc... or save in the fridge add extra flour in a sealed jar and feed once a week....
How do you maintain starter after each use?
Keep it in the fridge and keep feeding regularly just as a normal starter
@@AKneadtoBake do you discard? He never discarded when creating it.
What do you mean by 3 and 3/8 cups of flour it’s a strange measurement for cups ?
Use the gram measurements for better results
Hi what is gluten free flour made of.South Africa.
A blend of rice flour, whole grain brown rice flours, tapioca starch, and potato starch
Thank you my daughter only had almond and coconut flours.
@@AKneadtoBake what are the proportions please. This is the best video I have seen but need to make some flour.
ARE YOU SAYING THE 1ST BAKE AT 450* IS WITHOUT THE LID FOR 30 MINUTES, THEN PULL IT AND COVER IT WITH LID FOR 2ND BAKE FOR ADDITIONAL 45 MINUTES, THEN PULL THE LID OFF AND BAKE A 3 TIME WITHOUT LID FOR ADDITIONAL 10 MINUTES?... NOW HOW DO YOU CONTINUE TO GROW YOUR STARTER?..FOR HOW LONG BEFORE YOU CAN MAKE MORE BREAD? 7-8 MORE DAYS?
No you only bake it in a Dutch oven with the lid for 45 min and then 10 min without the lid. The starter you keep feeding it regularly and you can keep making bread every time you need to you just have to feed the starter first before using it on your recipe and let it ferment
How do you maintain the starter for future loaves?
Just as a regular sourdough starter feed it every other week and place it in the fridge
Me imagino que hablas perfectamente el Español
@AKneadtoBake do we feed it the tbs of water/flour or the 1/4 cup water/flour
@@AKneadtoBakedo we feed it as 1 tbsp of water and 2 tbsp flour ? How much that in grams plz?
I thought if you don’t discard some starter it doesn’t give you the bubbly texture of sourdough once baked?
As long as you refresh it you are finr
Which gluten free flour are you using? There are several….rice flour, bean flour, chick-pea….etc.
The King Arthur brand fluor
Mine turns out gummy in the middle of what am I doing wrong??
It needs to bake longer
Mine too...terribly crisp crust and not done most of it. Baking longer as I type this...
From who is the voice?
You can see my face in some of the other videos
What gluten free flour is it? Because we can’t use corn
King Arthur gluten free flour it is a mix of gluten free flours
@@AKneadtoBake which ones to make this?
Do you have to add a sourdough starter first?
Yes
I’m confused usually you add a sourdough packet starter? Do you need to add that first to your gluten free mixture? I didn’t see that step in the video
Color me curmudgeonly, but it escapes me WHY no link to said "Gluten free sourdough starter" is included in the multitudes of links ensconced in this man's video.
Isn’t it in the name of the video?
The beginning of the video shows how to make the gf starter?
Hearing a man describe the baking process is kinda sexy😊
No yeast whatsoever?
No yeast, only gluten free sourdough starter
That's what the sourdough starter is for. It naturally cultivates yeast. Which is why you have to feed it.
