  • Input: vertical gear receiving rotation from a motor (not shown).
    The green door and blue upper plate are fixed together by two revolution joints (two roller blocks).
    Violet rollers bear the door weight.
    Yellow rollers are for guiding the door.
    The 45 deg. corners at the rail ends make the door flush with the wall.
    The rack is connected to the door and the blue plate via sliding joints (two pink rods).

      Yes, use any drive to convert rotary motion into linear motion.

      @@thang010146 The doors on set were opened and closed with someone pulling ropes skillfully, to mimic the acceleration and deceleration of a machine. Most likely they had a rope in each hand, one for opening, one for closing, that could also be used to brake the moving door.
