“The way they say things like Smurfs is this and Smurfs is that” is my favorite line in this. Their ability to get through a whole review and somehow leave you with less information about a movie than before you watched it is just unmatched.

"I love the color blue and the whole blue thing" made me crack up. On some really reductive level, I think that's basically James Cameron's motive for spending 15 years and half a billion dollars making the Avatar movies.
Fun fact, blue is actually the easiest "alien" skin color to make look correct, because it's the inverse of human flesh tones and you can get a similar range of colors, and it's also complimentary when paired with humans. Greens and reds are harder to make look real.
I've been working on some Smurf fan fiction. I felt the movies left the viewers unchallenged. In my version, I wanted it to be more like how The Empire Strikes Back ended; on a cliffhanger. So mine wraps up with Jokey Smurf loosing an arm and Gargamel had Smurfette in a slave costume while he encased Papa smurf in carbonite.
I’ve watched this probably 50-60 times now. Ive even used the “tie in the loose ends” term at work to my managers and then walk away, trying not to laugh like Tim
