- Here are my current favorite curly hair products. I focused on my favorite shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and oil. As with every curly girl I'm a product junkie! Keep in mind these are my current favorite curly hair products which do change from time to time but I really am feeling these 4 choices:

i was using flat iron like EVERYDAY for a period,and the thing that saved
Stop using any type of heat on your hair for a lonnnggg time. Use a lot of natural oils and leave-in conditioner's. If you have any straight ends from the damage, cut them off. ☺

Omg maya I used shea moisture shampoo conditioner and deep condition and used the knot today sealed it with organic coconut oil best twist out ever thank you for helping me get to the right products

Thank you so much for your advice. My daughter is nine and she is very self conscious about your hair. Its big, its curly, its think, and it is so dry. But watching your different videos I now have a better understanding of how to moisturize and keep moisture into her hair. Thank you for your advice!

I know this is an older video, but THANK YOU so much for posting all of your curly hair routine/product tutorials. My daughter is black and Palauan, and her hair is almost identical to yours. I was having so much trouble finding info on that texture, and your videos have helped me keep her hair in healthy shape and maintain the curls.

ah! ok! if it's tangling that is something for concern. but for me, oils tend to "stretch" my curls out which is why by the end of the week they look looser :)

you can try this stuff but for years I used tresseme, garnier fructis, and herbal essence. if i didn't try this stuff i would still be on that tip :)

I'm new to the natural curly hair thing and I am lost, I've watched your other videos but I'm confused as to how often to use products or what to use in the day vs at night and other basic things. Since I moved to Norway from America my hair has been going crazy and I could use some help! Love your videos by the way, you are so adorable!
Hi *****, I know I'm a little late answering this and I hope you have transitioned to Norway! I have a lot of experience with different curly hair and I want to share some things that I feel like might be helpful:
Moisturize your hair as needed. I moisturize almost every day, but there are tons of factors, so be willing to shift things as you go. Water moisturizes your hair, product maintains moisture, and gels and oils seal in moisture by creating a lipid barrier. So try using product in that order: Rinse, use leave-in, use a gel, let dry, and scrunch with a tiny amount of oil for softness and shine.
Then you need to know ingredients that are affected by climate. Curly Nikki has a great article on Protein and Humectants which dramatically ease your day to day styling:

When looking at the weather, don't look at humidity, look at Dew Point for true understanding of moisture in the air. Dew Point below 40 degrees (f) is dry (add moisture, avoid humectants). Between 40-60 degrees is normal (use humectants as needed). Above 60 degrees is very moist/humid (use extra gel, avoid humectants).

I hope I was helpful. These are my "magic bullets" I use to get my and all my curly girlfriends hair in great condition. I refresh my curls with a spritz of water each day and then check the dew point for the day. Then just apply the appropriate products accordingly! All the best!

I am newly natural...about four months in and you among others have been a great help. However, we do not have the same hair texture but it's still all good. Your information is still solid.
