I came back in around 2019 and was picking up fairy rise, dark order, champion road, forbidden light, ultra force all these mid era sun and moon sets for around 80AUD. All of them aren’t the strongest sets but time can be kind even to average sets
Great video! I totally agree on the crimson haze take, I don´t understand how the set is so cheap right now, it has the greninja, as well as beautiful trainer sar's and on top of that the eevee ar, which costs 10x the price of a normal ar, bringing the average value of each box way up. I also have a question. How is the liquidity on older japanese booster boxes and booster packs, such as BW and XY era, do you find it hard to sell here in the west or is there a lot of demand? And have you sold any boxes to Japan because of a higher demand there?
Thank you! I rarely sell anything, but it's not hard to get rid of the Japanese BW/XY stuff, especially if you box break... Sometimes people are priced out of a whole box but they still want to own a part of the set, packs are the next best option. I think if you aren't a business with overheads, there's no rush to sell, as these items seem to slowly creep up in value anyway the longer I hold. Most of my sales are to other UK collectors, sometimes China, USA and Europe, never Japan suprisingly
My tactic is MSRP (or closest to) of boxes I personally like. I'm a damn normie it seems because it always worked well for me xv Also yeah, buying at a price where you could sell right now and still profit is great, I actually do sometimes when I buy like 10 boxes in japanese and 2 are a bit dented for example, I sell those 2 for some little profit and buy them again. Such a nice peace of mind.
I think since the covid boom no one’s really into Japanese as the English is not scares anymore as the covid boom not killing the market poke NE thinks the only Japanese box to go north of 85 will be 151
@@MattDennard PokeNE has only been involved with Japanese since the middle of SWSH, don’t take advice from people who haven’t been around for a long time imo

I did the exact same thing, Champion Road is super underrated
@@bonnietastic_ the box artwork is super nostalgic reminds me of the GBA era! Such a sick set! Those neo reprints go way under the radar

Collection boxes are way too bulky imo
