We just consider dogs to be dirty so you have to change clothes and wash after one touches you (in order to perform prayer) with its tongue or wet nose which is an inconvenience since we have to pray 5 times through out the day. Cats are considered clean so many muslims have them. It's easier to keep a dog when you live in a warm country (so they never come in your house) like some of my family back in Africa. My muslim cousin even breeds dogs for a living

For those of you who aren't quite aware why he's afraid of even small little puppies that are almost close to harmless, it isn't about being scared of being bitten, but it's because of the fact that he's a Muslim, and in Muslim teachings, they aren't allowed or encourage to touch or get touched by the saliva of the dogs. I can't imagine being around a big group of puppies and not being able to lay on the floor and have them crawl all over me.
I definitely respect seeing that his beliefs with his religion take top priority. That's not easy to do and is something that I think the majority of people in all religions struggle with from time to time. I wonder if the guys were aware of the context as to why he was acting this way.
