The day before the hurricane was supposed to hit I was in magic Kingdom. Characters were literally walking around and Peter pan was playing tag with the kids it was so quiet
We live an hour east of Walt Disney World, and at the very last minute with hurricane Matthew we decided we had to bug out. Our daughter is a Disney cast member and found us a reservation at Pop Century resort. Many guests left or changed their plans, but the Was quickly filled with locals. Disney brought in characters, entertainment, and had limited menus including box meals. They did an amazing job! Passholders for life
Believe it or not, that’s about what it felt like going in the early 80s , on occasion, freaky thin crowds, it was awesome, no speed passes back then ...
Hey Molly!!! We went to Chef Mickey's (Contemporary Resort) on that Wednesday and the all-you-can-eat buffet was $15 pp down from the usual $60. Truly a most bizarre day!
Because of hurricane Dorian our vacation was delayed a few days. Thankfully our airline and Disney were wonderful about adjusting our reservations. I thought rescheduling Fastpasses and dining would be disappointing but the crowds were so low that it really wasn't a problem. Many of the attractions and rides the wait time was only about 10 minutes. The whole vibe was more upbeat and relaxed. I noticed the other guests were especially friendly and helpful. I think its because only the fearless souls braved the conditions and kept their reservations instead of cancelling. If I had one complaint it was that the weather was HOT and we never even got rain to cool things down. The solution was we enjoyed an afternoon swim in the pool. It was definitely our best Disney World vacation.
It was my first time going to Disney world and I was there the days before the hurricane and the lines were sooo short and o was able to ride almost every ride with short times. I had a blast and will definitely go again.
You should have done the 4 park all rides challenge today the times would have been perfect for it. Ty for sharing as always you make it so much fun. Definitely made a donation of my left over Hurricane stuff to those in the Bahamas they need it for sure.
I was there that day! I drove in Monday and we got so lucky!! Zero crowds and almost no rain that whole week!! We hit Magic Kingdom that Wednesday night around 5 and stayed till midnight for after hours and got on EVERYTHING with no more than 5 minute waits! 😁😁😁
Plot out your days at TouringPlans.com after watching UA-cam videos! I worked on my day plans for months during my planning phase. I paid a tiny fee for a year’s subscription and kept those plans online there to work on.
It's a bit hard to plan out though if you plan on using the fast pass system because you never know what's going to be available that day. I'm talking about after you use your first 3
@@abbiejoliec3133 you have to pay for it though. I checked it out. I dont want to pay $16 for a website I might not find helpful or use more then once ya know. Too bad, it looked alright.
JournalJourney Studios if you are a morning person and ride two or three things first thing, use your mid day three FastPasses and then add a single Fastpass as you use each successive one, that’s a pretty successful plan.
We went back through the All Ears archives and spotted us in the video. How exciting! We had spotted MOLLY over at DHS this trip as well! We had the trip booked and we even added a day on the front end to beat the storm. My wife had finished a half marathon here and we jumped on a plane an hour later. Such a great trip and we did luck out with the storm passing. Love the information and entertainment in the videos!
Love you Molly! The weather after a hurricane is almost always spectacular. When the storm passes it is usually cool and dry. ( At least by comparison to before the storm.)
We were there during a hurricane in 2004 or so. The parks closed at 1:00 and the storm hit in the evening, so we hammered through pretty much everything you can do at EPCOT. Hotel was great during the storm. They had their own generators so we never lost power. The had characters galore in the main lobby area of the hotel (Polynesian in our case) and did a great job getting all the resort guests in and out of the restaurants so everyone got fed. They showed Disney movies all night on the in-room TV's. Not once were we afraid. I hammer Disney for a lot of things, but they got an A+ for how they handled the storm and its aftermath both in the parks and at the hotels.
We were staying at AKL when Hurricane Urma came through in 2017. The parks were shut for 2 days and we were not allowed out of the hotel, however, the cast members were fantastic and looked after us so well. I would have no problem in stopping at a Disney World hotel during a Hurricane, in fact it was quite an enjoyable experience.🌪
We were at Disney World right after Hurricane Sandy and it was empty. While Florida wasn't impacted seriously by the hurricane itself, the parks emptied out as everyone was trying to get back up the east coast home to assess damage. You would hear folks on the shuttle buses try to contact family to go check their houses, or trying to rent cars, get flights, etc. We would get off Space Mtn., Haunted Mansion, etc and just get right back on. We had flown in to Fort Myers, rented a car to Naples, spent a couple of days there then drove to Orlando. They were thrilled to get our rental car as people were begging for them to get home.
My favorite AK rides are 1. Flight of Passage 2. DINOSAUR 3. Everest 4. Navi River I have an After Hours event coming up at Animal Kingdom and I am insanely excited!
This seems like it was a blast of a day!! I've had the pleasure of almost 0 wait at animal kingdom (Naivi River 3 times, flight of passage twice (once w/ a single fastpass), and dinosaur all before 10am) but having that experience at Magic Kingdom too is just wild.
Rode out Francis in 2004 at Boardwalk (DVC). First the parks reopened was our best day ever. Rode everything we wanted as often as we wanted! Rode Splash Mountain at the end no one was in line, they ran us through again, then a 3rd time. After that we went to do other rides.
The "beeper" at dumbo is just a crowd counter so they can monitor how many people are in the play area. It doesn't hold your place in line at all. You can play as long as you want and then you get in the normal line again.
Hey Molly. "It's a Small world". I did a LEGACY here. I noted in late 90's that "It's a Small World" did NOT have a Canadian Doll in North America at the exit. Just an Eskimo which is actually Alaskan term. They added Mounties, I believe. But yeppers that was me contacting Disney. (so proud)
I was there Wednesday- Sunday right after Dorian. Best trip ever. That week was slated to be slow, but the hurricane cleaned house. Orlando got super lucky
For the straw problem they can use Pasta straws. You can eat it after, turns into noodles or spaghetti and it's fine to throw out. It's biodegradable due to being made from a plant. It's made thin but it's sturdy enough for drinking. Does not affect the taste. It's made of rice I think or something else.
I was there during this hurricane and it was the best time to go. Everyone was saying we should have postponed our trip but we didn’t and I had the most fun I’ve ever had at disney
Hi Molly, great video. I read that you use iPhone XS to shoot the videos. What do you use to hold on to the iPhone when filming? A small attachment? Do you have the model please?
My best friend and I go to Disney every year but back in 2016 the parks closed during our trip for Hurricane Matthew. It sucked but we still made the best of it and had fun!
I get that they are a pain. I hate them as well. But they truly do help earth. And it is the small differences that help the world. I would recommend bringing your own reusable metal or plastic straw...or just not use straws and drink from the cup.
Yep. The process to make paper straws actually uses more energy and emissions. Plastic straws are made from mostly recyclables and use less energy to produce. America only contributes 2% of all plastic waste in the ocean, and how much of that is really from straws? Those zip lock bags from splash mountain are probably more wasteful. As someone who needs a straw for drinking (I have nerve damage in both hands and have a difficult time holding glasses) this irritated me at Disney. Yes reusable straws are an option. Until you forget them and accidently throw them out, or they're at the bottom of your bag and you can not find them. There are better ways to help the environment. And plastic isn't all that bad. I get the animal kingdom reason, for animal safety but overall it's a pointless, messy move.
Right after hurricane Dorian passed, we lost two days of our plan to go to Disney for the first time we had to take an alternative route from the UK to Boston. While I was at the Boston airport, we were rushing to take the flight to Florida, since we could only be in Boston for two hours! Eventually, we got to the Animal Kingdom Lodge at around 5 pm and I was really tired after all this rushing bonanzas, so I went to bed and slept. In the end, we continued our disney trip for five days. Now, I'm wishing to return to Disney world and hope that a Hurricane doesn't ruin our next trip.
We were in Disney for Hurricane Floyd back in 1999. It was the first time that WDW had EVER closed down so that was scary as we knew it was serious. All was well in the end though. We were there from 7-21 September this year (still jet lagged from the flight back to England). Lines were low. Smugglers Run was posted at 50 & 40 mins one day & both times we only waited 25 minutes. Amazing for a brand new ride.
Funny thing about when I rode Pirates of the Caribbean for the first time it was in the Tokyo Disney Resort. I have been to the one at Disney World and I actually like it better in Japanese. I don't know Japanese and I personally think it is a better experience. Something that I also liked in Tokyo Disney that I don't know if it is unique to that park, but I loved Toon Town. Who Framed Rodger Rabbit is probably my favorite ride.
Just seeing this video now, but I got here on the 9th and stayed until the 16th. It got busier each day but it was a blast. I was so nervous the hurricane was going to ruin our trip.
someone did 4 mountains here in Disneyland ca. you you guys not have Matterhorn in Florida? or do you just not count it as a Disney mountain for the challenge.
Hi Sweetie, I just stumbled engrossed to your channel. What a wonderful surprise. I really enjoyed seeing some attractions with you. I have always wanted to go to Disney land. But I guess it wasn’t in the cards for me. Instead of that I was put in a wheelchair 12 years ago. My step father put me in this chair. He walked with a cane. One day the last 5 days before my Mother died. He struck my back 3 times. With his cane. He damaged my spinal cord where my spine is connected to the base of my neck to my skull and stopped my spinal fluid to my brain. Then the middle of my spine shifted three vertebrae so I have a bulge on my spine. The third blow was a inch away from my tail bone. This was in 2007. Been in here ever since. So...I got off track and very thankful for people like you who will take me along with you. I am so happy you came into my life with out you even knowing I was with you. My all time favorite characters are Chip and Dale. Okay I better get going and enjoy the rest of your day. I think I have wrote a book. LOL Many blessings coming your way. 🤗💜🤗💜 Patti Jo from Seattle, Washington.
I was down at Disney for Hurricane Irma a couple years ago. It was intense, and seeing the results was shocking. My only regret is that we stayed off site rather than at a Disney resort. But they were still super accommodating, lots of rearranging happened, and we slept through the eye passing over (legitimately, it went RIGHT over us). I have videos of me filming the afternoon before and at that point, it was wind & rain, which is a normal thing for a Nebraska girl, so it was hard to take the hurricane seriously.
Hey Molly! i know it's now almost April 2020 and Disney is closed for the C-Virus unfortunately. Paper straws - hate them too but in Canada they are trying straws made from bamboo and hemp fibres. Longer lasting. Plus hemp and Bamboo grow so much faster than paper products. Hope Disney tries this, especially as an EPCOT Experiment.
The (non) crowds remind me of my halcyon days of the 90's - MISS that time! I'd heard there had been crazy short lines lately. Wonder if that will continue, or will change after Dorian's gone. I can say that I haven't been in almost 7 years (used to go annually for almost 20 years before then), and have ZERO plans to go anytime soon due to the horrible crowds, people's entitled rude, inhumane to others attitudes in the crowds (like the jerks who took handfuls of Zip-Locs like you said in this video)l and the obscene prices. Wonder if many other people have hit their "tipping point" and priced out of WDW too? We'll see. Great job as always, Molly!! And loved the laughter on Space and Speedway! :) I had to bleep bad words out of a video when I tried to "really drive" on Speedway too (apparently it's much better to let it drive itself)- kept BASHING the middle metal part! Video sounded like "BANG! Bleeeeep!" "BANG! Bleeeeep!" ROTFL
Just so you know, at Disney parks and other theme parks they use queue psychology so that people don't get angry for having paid money and mostly waited. In the case of posted times, they almost always say its 5-10 minutes longer than they actually anticipate, so you feel grateful for extra time! They also make the queues part of the experience so you almost want to wait
Meals. At the Boardwalk we went to the lobby for sack lunches, dinners ($5 each I think). Meat and cheese sandwich, chips fruit and a drink. Not bad for a hurricane meal. 2 days worth was hard for everyone but the kids. They loved it. 😂
To be fair, usually on a MNSSHP day in September or early October, the TTC is usually pretty dead at about noon anyway and MK in general is pretty slow on mid-week party days. So a day after a hurricane day is pretty comparable to one of those, but still, yes, probably a little slower than those days
4 very special rides in one day, I'm not going to spoil it for people watching, but that was awesome. I don't think I would want to trade a hurricane scare for the privilege though.
I got on Avatar in about 15 mins going rope drop and just being me and another person and them being all like "looking for 2 people" heck yeah! hell I wait twice time for freakin little mermaid of all attractions, can't get over that
on kiliminjaro safari there is a scene which ur driver will sometimes take you to where ur on this bridge and the bridge starts falling and you drive off it quickly. it doesn’t happen every time but it’s happened to me twice. i have never heard anyone else talk about it ever and i’m starting to believe it’s not even real. PLS ANYONE DID THIS HAPPEN TO YOU TOO
Looking at that wind but hearing how clear you are, I have to assume you have an awesome mic cover for wind cancellation. Maybe I'm just amused by the really weird and technical things.
I was cracking up with you while you were at the race track thing! I'm sooooo awful at driving in those!! Our last visit I didn't even attempt it! Love your laugh! I will say it again you are MY FAVORITE DISNEY VLOGGER NOW!! Thanks for sharing!
This would have been a perfect day for the all parks/all rides marathon!
The day before the hurricane was supposed to hit I was in magic Kingdom. Characters were literally walking around and Peter pan was playing tag with the kids it was so quiet
Cute!
What an awesome day.
that sounds amazing, no lines fir anything
@Keira Workman we were ok it didn't hit as hard in Orlando as they thought and we got on a flight home the next day
awwwwweee!
Molly would be so much fun to hang with at the parks and her laugh is so infectious!
24:44 - her laugh
Right?! I have a feeling we'd be friends. LoL
She has just the right amount of snark, which is why my wife and I have adopted her as our illegitimate love child. 🤣
I’d love to sit next to her on a ride. She’s so much fun & that laugh is infectious 😂
When we ran into Molly the following day at Hollywood Studios I heard her voice before I saw her actual self!!! She is fabulous by the way!!
Molly, your laughter on Space Mountain was the best part of my day today! So amazing. Would love to ride a ride with you!
that laugh on space mountain though lol
She sounded like a villain

So basically if there is supposed to be a hurricane in Florida I should immediately take a trip to Disney World...
KarBear1722 lowkey
It was my first time going to Disney world and I was there the days before the hurricane and the lines were sooo short and o was able to ride almost every ride with short times. I had a blast and will definitely go again.
Hahaha I love just hearing Molly giggle crazily in the dark on space mountain. It just warms my heart lol
Love the rant about the paper straws lol 😂 I 100% agree
i always thought the wire connected to the castle was just something i had imagined seeing bc no one ever talked about it 😂
It’s for tinker bell to fly from but from google
I saw it and I think maybe it’s a zip line?
@Yoshi The Legend yeah but for tinker bell
You should have done the 4 park all rides challenge today the times would have been perfect for it. Ty for sharing as always you make it so much fun. Definitely made a donation of my left over Hurricane stuff to those in the Bahamas they need it for sure.
Oh my Molly, you had me in stitches with that laugh on the mountains, that is so me except I yell lol. Great video and info, keep up the great work
I was there that day! I drove in Monday and we got so lucky!! Zero crowds and almost no rain that whole week!! We hit Magic Kingdom that Wednesday night around 5 and stayed till midnight for after hours and got on EVERYTHING with no more than 5 minute waits! 😁😁😁
I was there that week, The wife and i had a ball. We had heavy rain that night. the next day was beautiful.
I wonder if you can do a video of what a first timer to the parks would do or must do!

I'd like to see it too. Although I do have a plan already and have researched a ton, so hopefully I'll be using all the tips and tricks the pros use.

Wow, nothing sadder than the Happiest place on Earth when a hurricane comes through. 😳🙁
23:03 I love that man!
Expedition Everest (aka Yeti) is my favorite ride at WDW. We did Animal Kingdom after Dark and we rode it 6 or 7 times. haha
Love you Molly! The weather after a hurricane is almost always spectacular. When the storm passes it is usually cool and dry. ( At least by comparison to before the storm.)
I just went on the app and apparently smugglers run is only 40 minutes while tower of terror is 75 minutes! WHAT IS HAPPENING OVER THERE!

Beautiful sunset shot in Pandora, Molly!
I was there that day!!! It was amazing!!! I think we saw you vlogging at one point!
I love how when the automatic bars go down on Peter Pans's Flight, it's like the attendant is sprinkling pixie dust
Your laugh is infectious! I wish I could have fun like that all by myself!!
My favorite AK rides are
1. Flight of Passage
2. DINOSAUR
3. Everest
4. Navi River
I have an After Hours event coming up at Animal Kingdom and I am insanely excited!
This seems like it was a blast of a day!!

We were at MK the following day (thurs) and it was empty! Got some great sunrise pics
I need to go back to WDW the day after a hurricane. I would love the short queues
Molly, you are the best! Your laugh on rides just makes my year!
I love your general type vlogs!

Molly thanks for making being quarantine due to the Coronavirus scare fun. AllEars rocks!!!!
I agree! Those paper straws are awful! We had to take at least two or three per drink.
Ok but molly's creepy open mouthed stare smile thing was like giving me smiler flashbacks from the trailers for that tide
I was there during this hurricane and it was the best time to go. Everyone was saying we should have postponed our trip but we didn’t and I had the most fun I’ve ever had at disney

Amen on the paper straw front. Hate them! Besides paper isn't any more eco friendly than plastic.
I get that they are a pain. I hate them as well. But they truly do help earth. And it is the small differences that help the world. I would recommend bringing your own reusable metal or plastic straw...or just not use straws and drink from the cup.
Griffin Woods actually if u look it up, paper straws are worse for the planet.
Really? how so? I’m not being sarcastic or anything I’m actually serious because everything I’ve seen says plastic straws are worse. I’m very curious.
Yep. The process to make paper straws actually uses more energy and emissions. Plastic straws are made from mostly recyclables and use less energy to produce. Video sounded like "BANG! Bleeeeep!" "BANG! Bleeeeep!" ROTFL
I always do the 2 mountain challenge!! IT's a must everytime i am in MK. And I repeat it al teast 2 times
Was there Sept. 7th to the 12th and wait times were still pretty good. Extremely hot though, but that was not a discouragement.
Agave straws like they provide at Homecoming, are the VIBE
Molly! Where did you get your green windbreaker jacket? So cute!
You broke the Tomorrowland Speedway car. Awesome. 🤣
I got on Avatar in about 15 mins going rope drop and just being me and another person and them being all like "looking for 2 people" heck yeah! hell I wait twice time for freakin little mermaid of all attractions, can't get over that
Lions! :D It's great to hear them roaring at night too.
I wonder if it will be like this when WDW reopens from COVID19
I went to Epcot right before, and after, Hurricane Irma hit, and it was so quiet literally no one was there and it was during food & wine fest.
It would be so amazing to visit there on a day like this.
Where did you get your Ball Cap? I love it!!!
on kiliminjaro safari there is a scene which ur driver will sometimes take you to where ur on this bridge and the bridge starts falling and you drive off it quickly. it doesn’t happen every time but it’s happened to me twice. i have never heard anyone else talk about it ever and i’m starting to believe it’s not even real. PLS ANYONE DID THIS HAPPEN TO YOU TOO
Looking at that wind but hearing how clear you are, I have to assume you have an awesome mic cover for wind cancellation. Maybe I'm just amused by the really weird and technical things.
AllEars Molly that isn’t Molly lmao look at the user name
Yoshi The Legend its her personal account 😂
Where did you get your sunglasses from
1:15 TTC = Ticketing and Transportation Center
I want to know how Molly's hair always looks good. She's so photogenic.

Note to self, go to Disney the day after a hurricane hits
You make me have Disney vibes
