Christian metal often has better theology than the fluff on K-Love. While many churches play "worship" songs that highlight a subjective, fleeting emotional high, I find many Christian metal bands get down to solid truth in their lyrics.

I will never forget how I first discovered Christian metal music. I was going through tough times in high school, and some friends of mine from a youth group I went to thought my taste in metal music was making things worse. So they challenged me to go a whole month only listening to Christian music. I was worried because all the Christian music I had heard up to that point was too soft and mellow for my normal tastes, but I accepted the challenge for them. So I decided afterwards to Google search "Christian Metal", and sure enough, I found some Christian bands I enjoyed like Vengeance Rising (now known as Once Dead), Believer, Deliverance, Tourniquet, Living Sacrifice, Crimson Moonlight, Mortification, etc.
I never knew this kind of music even existed and I'm glad I came around to it.
I'm a Christian.
And I love Christian death metal.

Idk why, i just found that Christian extreme metal songs are more "worship" than traditional worship song, IMO.

I could postulate reasons why for hours on end, but at the core I believe its because they are not aiming to please human listeners with easy-listening, and therefore are not compromising their musical ability and simply letting the praise of God flow through whatever music is being made.

What? How do you know that’s what other bands are doing ? People can be genuine in there worship and still play songs that just don’t speak out to you as much, just because it’s not your cup of tea or that you feel more from this genre doesn’t mean the other is in the wrong.
