I love seeing the progression of Koss. he’s using more fancy tools, slowly but surely upgrading not only his talents and craft, but also his video work, designs, and other non-obvious details. it really makes me appreciate the fact that he straight up offers his designs to make his grinder and other basic tools for knifemaking, he’s encouraging us to dabble and improve ourselves too. it’s always such a joy seeing the notification of a new Koss video, I want to see him go even further.

I love this design as a survival knife. I was thinking it would store nicely in a pack, knowing the blade was secured. I thought of having the sheath pipe screw closed onto the knife to make a sort of club. Hide items in the handle like matches, fire starter, Ferro rod, fishing hooks. Then I thought, if you machine the top of the sheath so it screws to the bottom of the knife, you could then insert a thin branch into the hollow end of the sheath and have a small spear for protection or hunting/fishing. So many options and such a practical design. Great craftsmanship. Nicely done.

One hell of a clean design - don't know about the balance but looks well done. Would really purchase a blade like this and preserve the finish. Beautifully done

Love your work ,very fine and precisely done
This is one of my most favorite pieces you've made, Koss. Your Tanto's are always superbly ground and finished but what your did with the handle and sheath brings it to a whole new level...the bolster fit and especially the light fit sheath typical of Japanese blades. Two minor things I might have done is use a Nyloc Nut and to knurl the handle in some fashion for better grip in wet work. Truly a spectacular piece and a complex and strong build! Always a treat! Thank You once again for all your work and sharing your skills with us. ~PJ

I am a layman to knives and mean no disrespect. I just don’t see what you use it for?
Between the design and handle it be to slippery for a fight or butchery. It’s not a kitchen knife.

This is stunning. Love your clean minimalistic futuristic designs. Do your pieces have to live in soaked oil? I’m scared of any humid environment will destroy these knives due to galvanic corrosion due to the steel and copper touching each other :(.

Any chance for some more precise work? Maybe crossbar/axis lock knife with some nice blade shape? I never saw anyone do it in handmade knife, most use frame lock or slip joint that is not really that great.
