I just came across this video. This would be a great tool when traveling so you don’t have to drag half your craft room with you. Thank you so much for the wonderful videos you do.
Heads up: My blade slid completely off the rail. When I looked at it the left end of the rail is slanted differently than the right end. So when you store your board watch that you keep the left side up so you don't lose your blade. BTW when mine 'works' board came in I immediately opened it up and looked over everything. My friend asked me about it and I told her "It makes my OCD heart SING with joy! Everything is in 1 place and everything has a home." Thank you so much!
Hi Maymay. Since you're stamping on the score board that is kind of hollow underneath, perhaps put support under the scoreboard. I think the board gives a bit when stamping and there isn't a push back like stamping on a solid surface. Even with the foam sheet, the base still gives when stamping. I like all the other functions and will still likely take my stamp positioner with me on the road. Thanks for addressing viewers' comments.
Maymay, my observation is that the reason it doesn’t stamp well is because it is not a solid surface on the back. Seems to me like the platform would give under the stamp because of the open space underneath where the storage is. Just my two cents. Thanks for always doing such great videos!!!
Maymay, Thanks again for being so thorough! I agree with you, keeping a piece of foam nearby for solid stamping isn’t a big deal. Most Stamp positioning tools require foam when stamping with clear stamps. This clever tool is definitely a space saver. 💜
Thank you for clarification. I'm a Stampin' Up! Demo and we recommend using a silicone mat or foam pad when we are stamping being that there is no cushion on the clear stamps. The "red rubber" already has the cushion so it's not required. Hope this helps.
Great videos MayMay!!!! I own the trim and score and have never injured myself with the cutting blade. This tool looks awesome! I may sell my other ones as a bundle and put this in my wishlist!
*I absolutely Love this video share. Thinking about getting this for myself. Wondering if there would ever be a need for a larger one for this what do you think? 😁😁😁* Sharon in SC
Thank you for sharing this! The first time I realized the way it was designed you didn’t need to turn it over like the Tin Holts one when you switched between the rubber and clear stamps which is a big plus!
This tool is cool and I really like the magnetic platform, but for me the price I would want it to stamp correctly. The whole idea is to not have to take a bunch of other things. Have you contacted the Company to see what they say. Also as a new card maker I think the envelope part should have the size of the cards, because they don’t know card sizes. Thank you for coming back on and answering the thoughts and questions.
Hi Maymay, I’m a new subscriber and have watched several of your videos. Love your programs! Thanks loads. I think this is a great tool. I wish it had come out before I bought several of the WeR punch boards already. Another UA-camr felt that for traveling the stamping platform should be secured, but said she could just put an elastic headband around it to hold it in place. Since I won’t be traveling with it, that’s not an issue for me. I do like that all these tools are in one, just because I hate to be scrambling for the next one I need and didn’t think of before I started. And it’s a great tool for a sort of improvised approach to crafting. As an artist as well as a crafter, I like the convenience. So I may buy it anyway.
The "Deal Breaker" for me was only 6 inch Scoring Bed. I have the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform and Crafters Companion for making Bows as well as 2 sizes of Bowdabra.
Hi, Maymay, I just watched both videos and both were very thorough reviews ... thank you very much! Would you know if the WRMK scoring blade for other models of their paper trimmer will work with this? I’m planning to buy that kind of paper trimmer (got a guillotine now) in the future because I gave away mine to my son. It was my kind of paper trimmer as I prefer to score using a scoring blade instead of a score board. Thank you in advance.
I love this!! I wish I would've waited to buy a positioning tool!! I have both the Misti (medium) & stampin ups Stamparatus!! Both do well, but yikes! This is awesome!! I may still get one for traveling though!! What are the dimensions? Curious if I could fit it in my large craft bag or if it would need to go in a taller pack :) Thank you!!
not to get u to buy from someone else but I bought mine on hsn for 79.99 and it came witha gorgeous bag, I dont know may,may price is because I didnt know about this tool until hsn had their last craft day and I watched them show it....
It seems like the missing ink appears where you press with your fingers to remove air bubbles. That may be effecting the ink transfer somehow because it didn't happen on the stamps you didn't touch after attaching to the block.
Considering all the different tools this combines, the price isn’t outrageous. I have at least three tools that could be replaced by this all-in-one and they cost me as much as the new system would with all its features. It would be great for traveling or for someone who has limited space.
I just got one of these and my question on the ruler increments. I cut something with another reliable paper trimmer and then with the Works. The works measurement is off. It is shorter than the one it was compared to. Is their a trick?
I think it would be perfect for traveling. Thanks for showing how versatile it is, Maymay and especially for the tip about the blade. I would be the one who cut her arm😂😂😂 Hugs and blessings.
I’m just wondering if the envelope tool on the back has a “void” place for that particular stamp. Maybe try the stamp in the lower section of the clear board
Maymay, you do such an amazing job! Thank you so very much! 😊 I did have a couple of questions. I’m sure the foam is important no matter what, but could it be the stamp you were using? Also, I really want the tab function but those tabs seemed very narrow. Would you mind measure the tab portion and give us the depth? Again, thank you for an excellent review! We live in an RV and though I have (and won’t get rid of) many other tools, having this would make most of my crafting so much easier. Many blessings 💕
I use the stamperatus stamp positioner and it requires a foam pad for using clear stamps. It is removed for red rubber stamps. I think it is the same issue.
MayMay, In your other review you mentioned how you didnt like that the blade “door” (not sure what that is called) gives you resistance when you lift the blade to open the “door”. There are two, one at each end of that “door”, little fingertip tabs. These are for you to lift the “door” open so you don’t break the “door”. It is kind of a week “door”. But it definitely was a changer for me with having arthritis in my thumbs when I discovered the tabs. Let me know what you think about the tabs
The stamp platform is flimsy and moves I'd say, when you press down. They need to make a piece underneath to hold it firm. That's the only issue. I'll wait for the new and improved one. Thanks so much for testing this out.
I like it for all the gadgets punches hole makers etc. I still prefer my stamp tool from SU. YOu can try the chunkie tool or a eraser tool that Jennifer uses instead of your fingers or hands. You probably already know this.😂😂
I hope this helps. I have the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. On that chart they have A2 corresponding to a card size of 4-1/2x 5-1/2 and a A7 corresponding to a card size of 5-1/2 x 7. I realize these dimensions are slightly larger than an actual A2 & A7 card but those are the ones they labeled as such (A2 & A7) on the envelope score board chart. On your chart the 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 is second from the bottom in col. 1 and the 5-1/2 x 7 is sixth from the top in col 2. Would you be able to try to make an envelope using the info corresponding to those two card sizes and see if it works for A2 & A7 cards?
I’m gonna go watch the video this was about, but did you try a different stamp, that issue could totally be the stamp you were using. I’m probably wrong but it’s an idea, great job, looks like a great tool.
I think it may be the actual stamp that is the issue. There is one company I use and in one particular stamp set, there is one image which does NOT completely stamp and I have tried stamping this image using an acrylic block, my Tim Holts stamp platform AND MY Stamparatus. If you look closely, the image is more shallow in the middle than the rest.
That blade worries me, where it slides out for changing, i think I may keep it in a foam lined fastened box I might be able to attach... if I can find them again, working with kids and aged care it’s a worry.
I woke up this morning an wondered where all the scratches came from on my right arm between my elbow and wrist on the inside, later this evening I was using the works and said oohhh and realized the blade on the works was open and magically realized there were yesterday scratches came from...I guess scratching it over the ones from the night before turned on my light bulb!!!never had a trimmer do that before, but like you I want to keep this trimmer really bad.... I noticed the blade on mine seems dull and the top of the arm stays raiised almost a quarter inch just on the top side like its bent or warped so I called HSN and they are sending me a new one..... Im going to put acrylic paint on the numbers in white that I cant see, Im almost 74 and this writng is unbelievably small...May may what is the ruler for in front of the 3 puches ,do u know?????.
Hi Maymay, Do you work for We R Memory Keepers. If so, I have a question about my Evolution Advance die cutting machine, I was putting an embossing folder through and it has jammed tight, Won't move either way, Have been onto the site and left message but thought you may be able to help me. Thanks.
Barbara Mitchell hello , she is not an employee of WRMK... you may want to contact their customer service for any issues with machines, thanks Admin Staff
I agree, the shape that is left undone is so uniform so it can't be the fault of the stamp. It is circular just like the magnets one the envelope maker piece stored in back and it is the exact same position as the clear spot one stamped image!

Thanks Maymay, the use of rubber stamps were the only questions I thought of, so now I know - You're such a peach!!! TFS
I love that you interact with your viewer comments! Thanks for the follow up.

Brenda, that's what I think the problem is also. I just use a piece of foam and have no problems. I love the tool and enjoy using it.

Thanks for addressing all the concerns. Awesome video😀
I never have any problems with stamping! Every stamp perfect! I'm wondering if it could be the stamp itself?
*I absolutely Love this video share. Thinking about getting this for myself. Wondering if there would ever be a need for a larger one for this what do you think? 😁😁😁* Sharon in SC
Hi Maymay! Thanks for takinG the time to answer our questions! You Gave this product a Good and fair review. God bless you and yours, Tree :)
Thank you for answering all the questions!
Thank you for sharing this! The first time I realized the way it was designed you didn’t need to turn it over like the Tin Holts one when you switched between the rubber and clear stamps which is a big plus!
I travel lots with my tools! This is a great invention. Thx!
Could it have just been the rubber stamp itself? I would test other rubber stamps to see how they do
It can do larger paper, you have to fold out the arm
I like my Misti...no fiddling around to get a good impression
thank you for the update
*There is a larger The Works you"re saying or larger in dependent Score board? 😁😁😁* Sharon in SC
I love that there is not a gap when you swing the arm out
There is a piece of foam in the Misty for stamping photopolymer stamps, so adding foam seems like the right thing to do.

I think you can put 2 or 3 layers of paper for the press ... it might be enough for filling the gap between the board and the acrylic plate .
Could you put a magazine or thin book under the tool for support when stamping in the center?
The side opens as an extending arm to elongate the measurements at the top
The "Deal Breaker" for me was only 6 inch Scoring Bed. I have the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform and Crafters Companion for making Bows as well as 2 sizes of Bowdabra.
It extends she just didn't show that
I love this but will have to wait till I can save for it
i have another brand of stamp press and i get the same issue in the middle. I thought your original review of this was very thorough. ;)
Do you know if we can have the blade from the paper cutter replaced?

Are you able to make a double bow with the bow portion?
The stamp platform is flimsy and moves I'd say, when you press down. They need to make a piece underneath to hold it firm. That's the only issue. I'll wait for the new and improved one. Thanks so much for testing this out.
How does it work with red rubber stamps? Will foam make it too bulky?
Great stuff!
I saw a lady on we are stamping and showing all this tool does, she always stamped with that arm open.
What about replacement blades for the trimmer? I like that I can get new blades for my trimmer lots of places.
I like it for all the gadgets punches hole makers etc. I still prefer my stamp tool from SU. YOu can try the chunkie tool or a eraser tool that Jennifer uses instead of your fingers or hands. You probably already know this.😂😂
I can't find the cost anywhere

Maymay - it looks like there is more of a gap at the top than lower. Perhaps if you put the stamp lower it would do better.

Try using a magnetic sheet instead of the foam! Then u can use the magnets with more precision

Do you think that this is the best tool for beginners to crafting?
What are the measurements increments
Maybe standing up and getting more even pressure when stamping is the thing.
🙂
Not thr magnets you put on top... but, the magnets behind the board!
I agree, the shape that is left undone is so uniform so it can't be the fault of the stamp. It is circular just like the magnets one the envelope maker piece stored in back and it is the exact same position as the clear spot one stamped image!
Sempre meraviglie 👍💯 . Questa attrezzatura , è in azzurro per misurare in inch e rosa in cm.come taglierina? Grazie
Hello, the measurements are in both imperial and metric
So you think its worth it? HSN has it for $50....
I'm sorry to say this but, maybe the problem with the center of the solid stamp is a defect in your particular "The Works Tool".
As always, you do an excellent job. Still not a tool I want. Too many pieces, too many steps, just complicated.
I’ve seen others test this and I am not impressed. Too much extra effort. I’m fine with what I already use.
