The irony and pointlessness of this war is endless to me. Of all nations in history, they should understand this. Ukraine is defending their lands, their homes and their friends and families. Russia is fighting for a reason to fight it, and losing.

Nice analyse. Here is mine: - wet/mud season is coming, however, Khersonregion is not really that much affected by it; - F16's are coming; - until so far, there's no bridge to set up logistics (I assume preparations are being made to set up a bridge fast). In other words: it's preparing ground now. Once we see Ukranians having airsupremacy, a reliable bridge and massing army things could change rapidly. Until then, I think, we need to be patient. The basic task of marines is to secure a 5km (offshore) inland.
If Ukraine is able to take Oleshky, would they try to build a pontoon bridge beneath antonovsky bridge like the Russians did? If they where able to provide air defence over the bridge does Ukraine have the industrial capacity to rebuild the antonovsky bridge itself to make a difference in the war?
I reckon there is a tunnel for personnel. I recall there was talk of a bunker under the antonovsky bridge seems this ight be a safe place to start digging.
Several of the Australian made "Slinger" anti-drone systems would also be useful. They are relatively cheap $1 Million so not a HUGE risk to have them nearer the front line
It's basically a probing operation, but a very successful one with the potential to develop into more. It seems like a game of chess, or cat and mouse tactics - each side tries to force the other to either reinforce by withdrawing units from other directions, or to commit their reserves.
The Russians don’t realize replacing generals everyday doesn’t help their war fighting strategy or capability. It literally destroys it. Could you imagine replacing a CEO every time there was a negative quarter?! It would be chaos.
Georgijs, good discussion of the Kherson Front. A couple things that could impact Ukrainian moves in this Front are surgical use of GLSDBs and the arrival of F-16 AMs with the right mix of munitions. The F-16 AMs are likely to be the bigger gamechanger as they will impact both the air war and the air to ground war. Right now Ukraine is setting up the transition to these weapons with what they have currently available. And then getting more troops and logistics entering the Kherson theater as the transition occurs. Another thing: russia has distracted the world from it’s war with Ukraine by encouraging Hamas to terrorize Israel. Perhaps Ukraine should trip up russia by turning the tables on it… Thank you, Georgijs! Heroyam Slava!
F16's can target aircraft up to 100km with AMRAAM missiles. A logistics chain can be set up with octacopter drones that have a 30kg payload. Or low flying helicopters can transport troops, materials and weapons. Maybe even a humv? Himars and atacms can cover the whole area from river to the sea from the right bank of the dnipro
Ukraine moved multiple AA-Systems (1 IRIS-T System and 1/2 SAMs) to the Dnipro/Kherson, in verry close range to the frontline, so the 5th Point on the list should be dealt with, as long as they make sure those systems are not destroyed
The canals in this area would allow its division into devourable chunks with defendable borders, so I think the Ukrainians will not just be looking to that highway, but to the area to the west of the Crimea canal. That would mean getting as far east as Nova Kakhovka. The dam wall with a little engineering effort might be a crossing point (hard to bomb a dam wall, we were told after the dam was blown up).
Also the Ukrainian Artillery on the right side of the river is at higher elevation, while the left bank is just above the elevation of the shoreline. This is an advantage for the Ukrainians. At least 10 pieces of ruZZian armor has already been destroyed near the river.
@@johnnewman1819 Ukraine can lower the water level because they control the dam, and water speed affect ice thickness. But people a lot better at math is probably on the case already.
I believe Ukraine can achieve one of two goals, the Russians decide which one: Either cut that highway south of Krynky (T2206) or they have to bring substantial forces to this area, which is relatively hard to supply for them, too,. This could help Avdiivka a lot or allow important gains near Robotyne. But I still don't believe in a major push there. As long as the artillery can support from the right bank, everything is possible. But if you have to bring it over, you also have to bring many hundreds of tons of supplies daily either by boat or over a very vulnerable bridge connection. Also a few light batallions can be evacuated again if the enemy decides to show up in strength after some time of apparent weakness. Large forces with heavy weapons can get trapped - very risky.
I appreciate that you hesitate to celebrate rumours. Gives you more credibility. Just like when you respect UA OPSEC... It's the professional approach. That said, I still appreciate the G-rant, exactly because you can afford to take a demonetisation.
For anti-air/-drone let Rheinmetall in... they're basically world champions of that category... they're planning to set up production inside Ukraine, they'd protect their assets, and gain valuable experience at the same time.
@@BenjaminVestergaardThey have said they will start building a factory now and will defend it. I was anticipating IRIS-T and the Gephard replacements. I hope they will bring some anti drone technology.
@@malcolmgibson5088 when they set up their own factory, I'm sure they'll use the best they have... and regarding anti-drone they have some rather advanced devices. Same time, it's quite a loophole around having to ask the German government to ask for permission every single time they want to export something. It's quite common for manufacturing countries to have an arrangement with the government being able to veto export... so my guess is that Rheinmetall got a bit tired of waiting for the German government. They also have a Canadian branch, I'm just afraid that they don't do the devices that Ukraine needs. Setting up production in Ukraine gives them more free hands to sell their products to Ukraine. And since EU is more willing to send funds than weapons, having Ukrainian production makes sense... because it eliminates the dragging feet of every EU country. Besides, Ukraine can use some business that works during wartime... not everyone is fit for the frontline, but you can still put some parts together and verify quality when you can't do trench-war yourself.
