Honestly, Government need to support Dangote. That is my argument with some people as well. They believe that Dangote has been killing small companies in business due to his capacity and government support, monopolizing every sector he finds himself. They believe he should have infact, help small businesses to grow as well by partnering with them but one thing they fail to realise is, you need to understand your business environment to help you operates it smartly which is what Dangote is doing. Once their business fail due to Dangote's participation, he's monopolizing the market. Don't blame Dangote, blame ill govt and market policies. Every business man wants to thrive and succeed. That's the spirit. Even though in petroleum industry, crude is sold in forward sale method which Nigeria is not an exception and infact, most of our forward sales is for servicing of loans of the world making it difficult for Dangote refinery to get the needed quantity of crude for his production, govt MUST find a way to support it. Naturally, IOC's will not want Dangote refinery to succeed at the expense of theirs. Dangote refinery needs govt protection and support. Nothing like him being called "monopoly wizard"...

I was at a business conference when former President OBJ said he summoned Dangote to Aso Rock many years ago when he noticed the volume of cement the man was importing to sell in Nigeria. He was the one who convinced Dangote to begin manufacturing within Nigeria so the man could create jobs. Apart from not owning housing abroad, Dangote doesn’t have a second passport. He said this in an interview that when he’s leaving Nigeria, he has to get visa like everyone else. When he enters any country, he queues with non-citizens when his subordinates with stronger passports have been allowed easy entry. So many people condemning Wigwe and asking how he came about his wealth. The man was not even 60 when he tragically passed earlier this year. Nigeria is over 60 since independence. Some question you should ask is why is there a 2-tier currency exchange system in the country. Many people take advantage of it and bet against the Naira. It’s one of the reasons we’re in the mess we’re in today. Not saying it’s a good thing but why aren’t lawmakers plugging these loopholes? Because many are beneficiaries from the system. So why plug the leaks and waste?
