I believe it started by them just sending him one when all the other companies were. He liked it so much that he stated to put some weight behind the product.
He literally said he is on the Board of Advisor's for Booster Board... that could mean that he either helps them purely as a mentor type deal, or he could also have some sort of stake or ownership in their company. If the latter is true, any success for Boosted Board is also a success for Casey's wallet. This is business.
Wether or not he gets anything out of it, it doesn't change the fact that they are amazing boards. I finally broke down and got one myself and it's like wakeboarding in the streets.
He doesn't work for them, just gets free stuff from time to time because he is such a big proponent of their boards. But yeah, he definitely didn't explain that well.

My buddy I met through esk8 group here in Canada let me try his Boosted Stealth and holy crap... I loved everything about it. He rode the board for almost 4 years and it still ran like tank. Looking back, Boosted Board's done something amazing that no one can forget and I always go back to Casey's video for Boosted boards content to this day. I miss the BB. Wish I started off with BB when I first got into esk8.

I do 3.3miles (5k) in the treadmill once or twice a week and that's pretty tough for me. I walk the first 0.2 mile of each mile as a warm-up/cool-down until I can do it without walking any of it. My goal is to run 5k comfortably and I'd consider that plenty good for fitness
