This was a very great deck. I’ve been searching around for deck ideas to build around him for a while because I knew he had potential but wasn’t sure about the analytics or how he would play as a commander. I can’t wait to try this one out for myself!
No, and I am sorry, I have been focusing on historic brawl videos a lot more recently, and I am not super familiarized with the standard format as I was.
@@harveysaleh8552 Probably not, since I am about to become very busy. However, here are a few rules that I like to follow during deckbuilding... 1. My golden rule that I try to follow is, always include cards that synergize with your commander. For example, If your commander is a white token swarm deck, I would not usually put in a whole lot of control cards, since that is not your goal. It is ok to include some other cards, especially staples, but try to synergize as best as you can with your commander to see the best results. 2. Always have a Wincon of some sort. This could be anything, but try to once again keep it in the paramaters of what you are building. For example, if you are running lifegain of any kind, aetherflux resevoir is a must have win condition. Another example is running Approach of the second sun in an azorius control deck. Wincons help your deck perform better and win more 3. Depending on your commander, try to run ramp of some sort. In green this is very easy, while in other colors it becomes a bit more difficult. However, there are a lot of options to choose from, including staples such as arcane signet, or even MTGA exclusive cards such as Key to the archive. Depending on how expensive your commander costs mana wise, these cards help a lot. I also like to base my lands around 37 in total, but this does vary depending on what commander you run. 4.Try to include spot removal in every deck. This helps to get rid of pesky cards that your opponents have. The only colors that struggle with this are blue and green, but usually counterspells or bounce spells do the trick for blue, and fight spells and nature's claim type spells for green. With removal, you can better establish a board state without having to worry about your opponents problamatic cards. 5. Boardwipes are also always a nice touch. If your opponents board gets out of control, board wipes can help save your game. The only color that struggless with this is green (since blue has cards such as rivers rebuke), and usually in green, your the one to swarm the board. 6.The ratios of the cards that you run mentioned above differ completely depending on what commander you are running, and the goal of the deck. I would reccomend If you are unsure on the ratios of commander to follow the next two reccomendations. 7. For someone new to MTGA, I would highly reccommend watching other content creator's deck videos on a commander you are thinking about building. These videos immensely helped me a few years ago when I started playing, and they might be able to help you too. 8. Specifically for EDH/Brawl, I like to use the website EDHREC. They offer multiple different decks, and an average of what people are running in the decks they build on the specific commander that you search for. The only downsides are that some of the cards are not on MTGA, but most usually are, and the other is that most planeswalker commanders on Arena are not onthe website. I really hope that this helps, and it is just a rough guide of what I follow, so you do not have to follow it word for word. If you have any questions, especially on the lingo, feel free to comment, and I will try and get back with you as soon as possible.
