Great video. I have an 05' ST Sport 2x2 with the same engine. My engine is strong, but I've considered yanking it and rebuilding it for fun. Thanks again for putting this together.
I don't suppose you still have that engine. Had a fire on my yesterday and I need a few parts which, as you say, are not readily available. (Mainly the fan and shroud/cover on the passenger side.)
Ricardo, I have the same engine, and need to take out, as it has a cylinder not moving.... hoping for the best, but expecting the worst!!! THANK YOU for this video.... I don't care that you all aren't professional mechanics, this has helped me tremendously. Do you still have the old motor???
Ricardo. Thank you so much for this video. On Halloween I will be flying from TX to CT to fix my sisters EZ-GO 2003 TXT . If at all possible would you please let me know the most common sockets, tools you used. I will be changing battery, carb, fuel pump, filters, and valve adjustment. Thank you Byron Juen
For what you're doing you'll need flathead screwdrivers, a 10mm socket and an open end wrench for valve adjustment maybe also 10mm. A gapping tool will also be needed for the valve lashes. I would also replace all the fuel lines while you're at it. Good luck!
I used a 625 from Vegas Carts (I do not recommend buying anything from them). You can see the motor in the start up video I posted. If I had to do it again I would just buy a motor from Harbor Freight. Much less expensive and better customer service.
I'm about to replace the engine in mine. I am going to research more on a swap first though. Your son did great! Love the fact that you guys worked so well together.
Great video, extremely helpful! I need to decide what to do since I think the motor in my EZGO MPT 1200 shelled out. It has the Robin 350cc. How difficult was the conversion you did? - Thanks again for the good work.
The conversion was not terribly difficult, but I absolutely do not recommend Vegas Carts. Their customer service is terrible. If I were to do it again I would just get a motor from Harbor Freight and buy a mounting kit from Cart Parts plus. Or buy the entire kit from them. Best advice I can give is steer clear of Vegas Carts.
@@ricardocorleone6963 Just pulled my engine and your video was a great help. I did a couple of things a little differently because I am going with a rebuilt motor but your video was invaluable for saving time and knowing the steps involved. Thanks again!
I'm working on a 03 ezgo with the 2 cyl robin Pulse coil at 20.9 ohm, coil primary at 3.6 ohm secondary is 21.8 ohm ( out of spec, but both new ones also out at 17.7 & 18.9 out the box) All grounds replaced and getting ground. New ignitor (3 actually, but 2 from different year ) New voltage regulator. New solenoid. Still no spark. Cranks, but no spark. Even checked to make sure battery didn't somehow switch polarity. I have run 12v through each individual wire, wiggling and jiggling the wire to see if there was any loss of voltage. Nothing. Replaced all connectors, and still no spark. Any recommendations on a fix from anyone would be greatly appreciated
@@ricardocorleone6963 have you ever had the cover off a robin motor to see the coil? Im almost thinking maybe there is something missing in there. The surface the pulse coil runs off of is just flat metal. There is only a small maybey 1/2 slot to break connection (or make connection if coil uses magnet to stay connected) Im used to a atvs and motorcycles having a small piece that sticks up to activate it. Not sure how this system works. Just set at 30 thou from that metal surface.
See my other videos. It's still running, but in hindsight I would have been better off rebuilding the stocker. Accessories to the new engine are pretty poorly made.
My response is a bit late as I just saw the video, the ground wire goes from a bolt that secures the plate that the solenoid, voltage regulator and the igniter is mounted to, to the starter/gen/ to the plate that holds the coil. So, 3 connections on that one ground.
Lol I just bought a project and cart, 99 ezgo txt. I am realizing I might need more than I thought, are you selling anything? I need a starter/generator, drive clutch( I think), mine seems to be missing the cover for some reason and I can’t buy just the cover anywhere haha. Where are you located?
