Shot in the dark question on a 12 year old video, but can anyone figure out the tablature of what Billy's playing when he's strumming high up the neck during the outro section? He's playing both rhythm and melody and it sounds incredible. Edit: Actually I'm starting to get it; I was making it more complicated in my head than it is. Here's the gist (Eb but chords are relative to standard) EADGBe XX(12)(11)(10-12-10)(10) D(6) X(10)(10)(9-0)8X C/G (Gsus4) XX(10)988 (+ weird cool bendy stuff?) C X(10)90(10)X G2 (10)900(10)X D4 [back to:] C/G Then down the neck to different C(sus) voicing: XX5533 -> XX5433 To the G maj root.
Seen them live 14 times been disappointed once. I’d say your chances for a great show are pretty good. I’d get on the stick though, they’ve called it quits already once before.
dude, sorry. i agree on their most recent tour things were looking grim but Teargarden by Kalaidescope is gonna be sick! i've heard some clips of songs and billy's really on it. He's using old Siamese Dream/Gish gear and everything. He really is back on track. and the drummer is pretty good too.
I didn't like the music they made in 1988. That doesn't mean they should have stopped making music in 1988. We would never have had Gish or Siamese Dream or MCIS. I think they need to improve their own filters now though. If he can't write a good song, scrap it, and think up a new one until he can come up with a whole CD of good songs. A CD of: Superchrist, The Rose March, Bleeding the Orchid, United States, 99 Floors, Peace and Love, As Rome Burns, Gossamer, Mama, and !, I would buy in a second
If any of you want to hear a sing that sounds the same live as they do on the album go listen to Britney Spears lip sync to the studio version of her songs.
This is so awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this- I absolutely love this song and this version is truly amazing! Billy has such a great voice & his emotion while singing this is so true. A joy to watch & listen to! Thanks again! ;) xxx
i thought adore was pretty good. best lyrical work imo and pretty heartfelt. alot of ppl didnt give it a chance because it wasn't as hard rock as the previous albums. if you are into harder rock then thats cool i just dont think its fair to say it was bad just because you didnt like the specific genre of it.
All people care about is the old stuff, which is good stuff, but the whole point of a band isn't to play greatest hits for every show. It's to keep making new music, that's how they keep moving ahead.
Man is a fucking genius musically, mentally. Never connected to any other artists lyrics like Billy's. His music will truly live forever.
Amen
Amen brother
It’s hard to believe this wasn’t a huge hit.. It’s their masterpiece IMO..
beautiful sounding guitar + billy's unique voice = fucking epic.
Simply incredible performance by a brilliant singer/songwriter.
The best part is that Corgan actually has a nice voice. It's just that he only chooses to use it half the time for some unknown reason.
I'm in tears. That's immense
My favorite Smashing Pumpkins song. I enjoy playing and singing this as well. Always a pleaser! Top 2 favorite band as well. The Beatles #1
smashing pumpkins are the fucking great band ever and thats all
Thank you for sharing. I had never seen this video nor heard this version before. Never get tired of discovering SP gems like this.

talking about how his life has changed since he found god :)
"I'll miss everything I'll never be..."
Great writing.
Reminds me of th Sabbath lyric...I've seen the future and I've left it behind
I guess this was for whatever reasons a rarely magical gig.
My senior quote "I shall be free"

"SP" s reunion
I never connected to this song until now for some reason. What a fucking great song and great performance
Yeah, I know this is an old post, but good songs never fade away, they just go on and on..

I'd respond to this but it's 14 years old. lol. SP still rocks
He is very humble.
