Always love your content! 💓 Love that you have found a profitable addition in the form of the library checkout cards. Have you ever done anything with artwork/illustrations/plates from a book that's completely trashed? I have one of the older editions in the Wizard of Oz series and the book is in awful shape BUT the illustrated pages are in good condition. I've debated whether or not I should try and just frame these as I really don't see salvaging the book as a possibility. Looking forward to your next video. ☺
I have heard of this!!! I have found some really beat up books that I’ve removed those pages and sold in my ephemera whatnot shows to crafters! Usually sell them by the pound
I really appreciate your substantive and informative videos. I do book selling as a hobby but to watch someone who does it professionally is another thing entirely. I like that you use every part of the "animal", i.e. you harvest the library cards for ephemera.
all the hard work pays off 🤩 Love that you share this!! I have so many books to go through and holding off until after I get caught up with my check lists , I love your videos!!
I have good collection of Dr Seuss books. Some are pretty old. How do I go about researching what their value might be in order to list them? I saw some go pretty high on abc online book site. Any helps would be greatly appreciated 😊
@@theconsciousroom2733 No. there are things I do that I like to consider trade secrets for my products. If you go on Etsy there are tons out there that you can get ideas from.
No not really because some things I like to keep as my own “trade secret” I guess is the best word for it. There are so many ways to upcycle them!! There are tons on Etsy!!!

Those vintage children’s books are my weakness, love them for my homeschool family. Way to put in the work and sharing this behind the scene!
Yes!! Thank you!
So glad i watched this. I had no idea the cards could be so valuable. I will have to start holding them out of my books. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for the thoughtful comment and watching! I do like to rehome or upcycle as much as I can. Sometimes not always possible but I make the effort!

Kudos to you for getting through all those books 📚 👏
& now I’m right back at it LOL ugh
Thanks for sharing about free book pickups, I've given thought to trying it 😮
You should!
I feel ya on needing some isolation time! Processing the bulk buys is definitely exhausting.
Tell me about it 😫

Hey there! I have a lot of videos on how to value old books and websites I use!
@@KateyReads Thank you. I will definitely check them out.
great video, can i ask you why would someone buy the library cards?
Tons of reasons. Ephemera sells well in general. Look on Etsy for ideas!
Look who is almost at 5k subscribers 🙌
Thanks Jeff!
Not to mention the workout you get from this. Between that and taking care of a toddler no gym needed.
Exactly!!!!
Why are the library check out cards profitable? I always discard of them. Because if I would of known they are profitable I would sell them as well
I upcycle them into art and bookmarks. Ephemera in general sells. You just have to understand the market.
@@KateyReads do you teach how to do this?

Do u have a video about making the library card bookmarks & do u laminate them?

Thanks, they are a great idea!
Is that a brandon sanderson shirt you have on?
No Sanderson sisters from hocus Pocus
Have any vids showing your 1 minute listing process?
It’s probably closer to under 2 minutes? I did make a video a couple months back. It’s likely under the eBay playlist!
@@KateyReads lemme look!
Who buys and why those check out cards?
I answer this question repeatedly in the comments of this video. Thanks!
@@KateyReads I apologize, my bad. Thanks for pointing out!
