naw
I just love how it was Evil Morty who took down Rick Prime, he exploited the one weakness all Ricks have: Underestimating their Morty. Its the same way how he was able to take down his Rick.
Well to be fair his own rick was also taken down because he trusted Morty. He was even cheerfullly repeating those exact same words about "me and you, rick and morty. 100 episodes straight etc" (not exact quote but you get my point) at the time he was being killed. So most likely this would also have worked with our morty and most morties, it is just that evil morty had completely outgrown his need for a rick.
@@randomguy4989 whats sad is that it seems his rick wasn't even really evil. him and morty just went on too many adventures where morty found it lame or boring and instead of just being out and living a normal life he decided to kill rick. i wonder what he did with summer, jerry, and beth
I like how Rick Prime uses Evil Morty as a shield, and at first I notice how our Rick tried to avoid shooting _through_ the shield to get to the target by going for a headshot.....
But then I watched Rick Prime catch it, and throw the projectile back before blew up in an explosion that would have taken them both down.....
@@orderflowarchives I don't think evil morty killed his rick, cause he kept him alive when his rick attempt to suicide, like why would evil Morty care about his rick taking his own life when he can get new rick? Due to that, maube deep down, he still cared about his rick, he just wants to take the dominate role
@@bestmind-tm2me he needed rick to gain access to rick only facilities and used him as a decoy
Honestly I like the fact that all Rick prime saw was just another morty, and all evil morty saw was just another Rick. They are actually a lot more similar to each other than they probably thought!
This deserves more attention
I think Evil Morty only helped because
a) he was interested in fighting the "strongest" Rick according to the only Rick that survived the citadel being destroyed and could not be captured by Evil Morty before.
b) he was hoping to get some new tech from Rick Prime or C137 he didn't have which he eventually did in the end and has the power to wipe out every Rick. This is more dangerous because Rick Prime could not use it simply because he is Rick too but Evil Morty having it is more dangerous building to more possible outcomes of the show.
@@MMythBunkersB I’ve heard a few decent theories, but honestly this is mine I think evil morty respects Rick c137, because he’s actually more emotional than other ricks he actually cares in his own ways. He’s terrible at showing it but he does show more empathy than other ricks and truly does love his morty and has started thinking of him as his grandson. Every time evil morty has encountered Rick c137 he’s always been somewhat admiring of him more than other ricks in ways. So I think he wants him to live, and actually doesn’t want to fight him. However he also still thinks of him as a rick and knows how ricks think. So think about this, all Rick has ever wanted was vengeance, all he’s ever wanted was to kill Rick prime because Rick prime took everything from him. He took his happiness and his happy life away from him, so evil morty gave Rick c137 everything he wanted the only reason he had for searching the universe and going on adventures is now gone he has no more ambition, and nothing to strive for. So now evil morty is basically free to plan whatever he wants while morty prime and rick c137 are trying to figure things out and find out where to go next. I just find it interesting that evil morty didn’t want to be followed but also isn’t all evil I don’t think either. Although he is evil and does hate most ricks I don’t think he hates all ricks.
@@MMythBunkersBno, bro evil Morty is not interested in revenge, in the episode he mentioned that he could kill Rick prime anytime he wanted to, the only reason why he helped C137 is to show him how meaningless was his whole revenge thing, just like meaningless will be for evil Morty to want to have revenge on Rick
Ahora se viene Doffus Jerry, esto será epico
1:51 the second he said “Aw Geez”, I knew it was Evil Morty. Our Morty hasn’t stuttered or said aw geez for some time.
It was a nice hint for the audience, and he knew Rick Prime wouldn’t take a Morty, especially (as far as he knew) his own Morty seriously.
Yes he has ?
But when the heck did they switch?
Can we appreciate the fact that every episode with Evil Morty was a banger. 4 episodes, 4 great ones.
Evil Morty is the show's trump card
Same, personally I also think every episode with Rick Prime is also just as amazing.
@@style_hedgehogYeah all two of them.

Maybe that's his morty, who the fuck knows anymore
@@RealCheemsJr. Nope, we got his backstory, Evil Morty killed his rick.
@@joto5459 he could've been forgotten Morty in the centre of their replacement. So other Rick took him in and then he dominated him.
@@joto5459 Funny enough - C-137 is the Rick Evil Morty thinks does not exist - one who cares and loves his Morty. When he realizes this, he lets him go just reminding Rick not to follow him and leave him alone. Evil Morty has the ability to wipe all ricks from existence now but C-137 Rick made him realize that there is slight hope for Ricks to become better people. Even though he originally used Morty to try to lure Rick Prime, he grew to love his adoptive grandson in his own way and even though He's replaced Summer's and Beth's, he's NEVER replaced Morty. Also Evil Morty realizes if he wiped Rick from Existence, Beth, Morty, or Summer would rise up and come take him down.

@@pancakes8670 no, they swapped at the end (when Morty woke he was confused as to the eyepatch) I think
Edit: By "the end" I mean the end of the big action sequence (around 1:36)
No, it was after the explosion.
I love the contrast between Rick's technology and Evil Morty's technology.
Rick's tech is all about attacking and causing damage, even if his body is destroyed, while Evil Morty relies more on defense and control to avoid damage to himself
Well he is still a Morty.
and hacking
@@poisonousbag6474 Yup, even though I think it already falls in the "Control" category
Exactly! Everything the Ricks do is for their own ego, so naturally their combat style reflects this. They want to be the most overwhelming force possible as a testament to their genius. Evil Morty, on the other hand, does everything out of a fight for survival. He seeks to stack any advantage in his favor and win without having to fight where he can. Always love when shows take the time to reflect details about the characters in how they choose to engage in a fight

@SeanVanGorden maybe evil morty told c137 about how to use his tech while they both went into the same portal right before their arrival to Rick Primes base. Evil Morty has very advanced communication skills so he planned into tricking Rick Prime into a scenario where he is gonna look defenseless, in case c137 rick dies.

1:42 Americans when they are suffering potentially fatal injuries but someone threatens to call an ambulance:
It was ironically the best time for Slowmobius to use his powers, every excruciating second he fell closer into his inevitable death was a second his infinite selves got to live, breathe, and experience. DAMN! Evil Morty not only hijacked Prime Morty's mind, but also outsmarted Rick Prime in such an easy fashion. He's definitely the most powerful antagonist.
I'm not sure if Prime Morty was really hijacked, remember that Evil Morty needed to install a remote control in Rick's brain to control him.

Rick's cybernetics kept him alive
The Ricks taking each other’s body parts just reinforces the idea that they are one in the same.
Is that why their body wires conjoined mid fight?
Rick just said he’s him with free time
They keep calling him evil morty, but he's actually pretty polite for the most part.
He's pragmatic morty, and I think he actually enjoys morty's company.
Do you still remember the introduction tho? He kidnapped hundreds of morties and had them being perpetually tortured by devices to act as a safety mechanism so he could kill and harvest hundreds of Ricks brains. I agree that evil is perhaps not the defining character trait, as he does his things for a pragmatic goal as you said, you basically a machiavellan pragmatist with absolute disregard for loss of human life is what defines him better than just "evil" for the sake of evil. But if you had someone killing hundreds of people just to fulfil their goal I think almost everyone would agree that he isn't a saint. Plus he also accepted everyone in the Citadel to die (thousands of rick and innocent morties) so he could achieve his goals.
The name I prefer is Mortyarty
they call him evil morty because he killed potentially millions of ricks and mortys bro not because he's impolite 💀
Affably evil is a thing.
@@randomguy4989 good point, although I'd add that if mass murder is a qualifier for "evil", then Rick C-137 is pretty evil for having unleashed Heist-o-tron on the galaxy, allowing it to destroy planets like Gramuflack and all their citizens, all to teach Morty a lesson or whatever.

In my opinion, things have gotten better and better since season 5
Season 6 for the most part is really good as honestly I think the only weak episode was the finale mostly because it copy pasted elements too much from the season 3 and 4 finales (big fight with the president and Star Wars "homage") but season 7 has been sort of eh until... this episode which was yeah really good and this is easily one of the best battles we've seen in the entire show.
@@DianaGohan I loved the Jerry and Spaghetti episodes. Overall they’re making things more weird and dark this season which has always been Rick and Morty at its best.
@@mr.greasy6483The real problem is that season 7 isn’t funny. Rick and Morty while going deep and dark and introspective was always hilarious. Season 7 barely has any laughs. It’s missing the humor and wackiness. I don’t even know how to put my finger on it but jokes just fall flat. And the spaghetti episode was all about preaching a message it wasn’t even funny
@@Childofbhaal you make a good point there- my favorite bit was the Morty turning into a car joke, but honestly I wonder if the show isn’t as funny now because it’s really hard to throw the audience off? It’s fairly easy to come up with clever sci-fi concepts when the characters can do anything but clever sci-fi jokes seem to be a lot harder
@@mr.greasy6483It seems like the overall writing has shifted greatly. I know they’ve had a new show runner since season 5 I believe and that’s when the change was pretty noticeable. I think they’re trying to move away from the early R&M formula and go on to new things. Which is okay but I miss the crazy humor..
The fact that this is only halfway through the season could mean something much bigger than this in the finale
Didn't they already do this before? I think we also had a "mid-season finale" with Ricklantis Mixup where they put the most impactful story on number 7, that was the House of Cards-style episode where Evil Morty basically runs for presidency and takes over the entire citadel and executes the council of ricks and the entire society of Rick and Morty gets thematized along the way. The final episode of that season was then Rick clashing with the President for the entire episode almost 15 minutes straight shooting at each other just to get that signature for Morty or so (which was a cool episode as well ngl, but obviously the citadel plot is a bigger lore).
Doofus Jerry (dun dun dunnn)😈
My theory, the season finale will involve Bigfoot. Like we saw hinted in episode 3. Additionally, that is clearly Bigfoot in the background of the cover art for this season, if I'm not mistaken.
Evil Morty just wants to be left alone. He’ll be back eventually, I’m sure, but for now it sounds like the show wants to focus on Rick being empty with his goal completed
PLEASE LET IT BE DOOFUS JERRY
I love the new Rick's scream. It sounds a bit off from the last one, but it feels way more genuine and creepy. The death of Rick prime felt weirdly real.
agreeed
New Rick voice sounds more like Rick, and "lets find out" is his new catchphrase
Rick Prime's death was some of the best voice acting in the entire show. Ian Cardoni was great from the start and I never actually noticed that Justin Roiland had been replaced until after I watched the season. Once I found out, it didn't change anything for me because Cardoni's performance was so good that I just see it as a continuation of Roiland's work.
However, Rick Prime's death scene cemented for me that Cardoni is BETTER than Roiland ever was. The most emotionally raw delivery I can think of from Roiland was "Bird person, no!" Great delivery, don't get me wrong, but Cardoni went through a whole gamut of emotions ranging from Rick's chilling "Let's find out" to Prime's scornful laughing, narcissistic rage, choking on his own blood, and finally the pitiful whimpers of a dying man. That's a lot for an actor to handle whilst also having to imitate a previous actor the entire time and Cardoni nailed it perfectly.
I just love the way he says “Shitty grandpa :/“ so matter of factly. Like it was the ONLY possible outcome of that situation and he KNEW it 🤣
Underrated line lol
I think they’re building up to Rick’s biggest villain being himself. Not a version of himself, like Rick Prime, but his actual self. This whole season seems to be focused on self-betterment so far (Evil Morty becoming the best version of Morty without Rick, Burgers & Fries/Jerricky), and with Rick C-137 even starting to go to therapy and now having no purpose since Rick Prime is dead, I think he’s finally gonna get introspective and work to fix himself from the ground up.
building up to? rick being his own worst enemy has been readily apparent since the start
Kinda counters the " nothing matters, come watch TV " ethos the show has but i could see them make a bit out of it.
@@johnathanbrandt2526Saying one thing, and later showing it to be different is theme progression. Morty wasn't the pinacle of wisdom and still figures the world out. Neither Rick who's super depressed about his wife, being in direct contrast to his "nothing matters attitude" while he showed that bird person matters to him, and his new family starts to matter to him, and his old family meant everything to him. "Nothing matters" was never true, although it seems that way in this multiverse of infinite copies.
I’m betting the ending will take parts of both.
Rick comes to the (correct) decision that he’s a genuine threat to his family. And not just him, but every Rick. After a particularly bad episode, he decides to go find ‘Evil’ Morty and steal the blueprints to kill every Rick, and his family tries to stop him.
Whether he succeeds or not it’d be a interesting idea and conclusion to the series. Either Rick selflessly/ishly take out every Rick, and the family lets him go to his final rest, or the family succeeds in stopping him, and help him become better and cope.
@@johnathanbrandt2526I don't think those are contradictory. "Nothing matters, come watch tv" suggests that there is no grander purpoose to life, so life is free to be enjoyed. Rick has just lost his seeming "purpose," so a message like that could be a possible solution.

Honestly im intrigued how the rest of the season will go, this season been a mixed bag of good to... boring episodes but hey this seems to be a start of a new development for rick, excited to see what the staff will do
Honestly I really don’t know what impact that development will have. The only thing I can think of that we haven’t actually seen before is Rick’s growth stops being so slow and he is actually well on his path to being a good person. Which is awesome but doesn’t seem like that exciting a development unless it somehow pays off in a big way
If Rick just ends up being even more self destruction, it would just feel like we are going back to the early seasons. And I would like to move forward not back.

Alright morty, good job on the awesome assist and even evil morty was impressed, he gave a little nod of approval of the assist. Too many people forget that morty prime is good at disarming bombs and stuff. So isn't too surprised that he managed to turn a cut in half rick bot into a weapon. That's our morty for you!
I absolutely adore how this fight is a literal love letter to all sci-fi BS going around this universe (multiverse?). Idk why they kept stalling this confrontation, it's literally too badass to get past. Probably cause it was still in development.
I don't think it could have been done a fraction as well if they had tried to do this back in any of the earlier seasons. Can you imagine them trying to do this plot in season 4 or 5? Would've been a train wreck. Nah, it was perfect timing.

the fact that the death of uncle slow caused the fight to start is the biggest joke to me
Just wish we could listen to just the music from this. So epic!
Evil Morty turns out to be really cool
Am I the only who thinks the leg part was funny af
I love how smooth Evil Morty is, in the way he talks, fights, and acts
FYI Evil Morty has been controlling Morty by the eye patch ever since they stepped into Evil Morty portal, that’s why we see he’s so good at re-using Prime's robot body as a temporary “gun” and in the end tricking Prime into thinking that he is the original grandson. Very good tactics I must say.
Everyone EM and Morty Prime switched after EM got shot on the upper arm. Thats why they switched shirts. In the Omega device destruction sequence, its clearly shown Morty Prime having a hole on the shirt arm despite there being no injuries.
So it was EM that fought Prime with C-137 in the fight montage

wow in the end Rick prime was defeated because he thought Morty was too weak to be a threat
Evil Morty is pure sigma. Took down Rick Prime and pretended to be Morty Prime. Honestly, what a genius. Hats off you Evil Morty!
I just hope that this wasn't the end for canon stories for the next time, but rather a demonstration of what's to come. The possibilities are endless, no need to just do whacky things again but further develop the characters
The fact that the curve is broken means that other interesting threats and situations can happen.
I like how giant Robot Diane’s appear in the back during the fight, kinda like a video game, where you’re fighting the final boss while having to avoid the background attacks.
His regeneration is such an advantage
Hes just that smart to give himself that
Of all the infinitely endless sci-fi gadgets in every universe, Rick Prime has just a regular chainsaw hidden in his mouth. Just... a chainsaw. It's perfect.
The only bad thing about this episode is that it wasn't the season finale.
This is what I have been feeling too. I wish they had a few episodes about him hunting prime before dropping this. They could have made a focus as to how hard he is to track across the multiverse, how him relapsing into his hunt for prime is destroying his family, and having that cliffhanger of “what now” would have been an excellent way to end the season while bringing back the og Villian of Rick and morty for the next season. Those Rick prime episode build ups would have made this better.
mid-season finale!
@@themattman4421This came out of no where and is regarded as one of the best episodes to date. LMAO a build up of something that’s been built from S1 would only irritate fans, goofy boy. There’s a reason they did this and a reason you’ll never produce a good show with your ludicrous mentality. Goofy
@@iarguewithgoofies7355 🤦♂️
@@iarguewithgoofies7355 just waking up to a stranger on the internet calling me a “goofy boy” made my day before it even started. It’s quite a funny insult and I legit laughed out loud so thanks for that. I’m using that for others
1:56 Evil Morty : when you have to shoot shoot don't talk
This episode really felt like a season finale i really enjoyed it.
it really felt like final boss fight
He used a kuato before they explained how it works.
I like how when “our” Morty saved Evil Morty and did a finger salute, then from the way Evil Morty’s visible eye is shown it looked like he rolled it sarcastically.
Amazing fight just crazy, he did it
The best or second the best episode I ever seen. I watched this three times
i feel like rick prime shouldve been able to take them on without breaking a sweat but i guess they wanted this part of the story to end???
This dude was an absolute unit if it wasn't for his arrogance that got evil morty to beat him he would have definitely won
