Thanks for posting this! I was at this concert, and we were so frigging excited we could hardly believe it. What a shame this couldn't be included on the cd....
I totally agree about the other women who played the role not being able to provide the same vocal intensity, as talented as they are. I was frankly pissed about the casting in the revival, though Marin did act the part beautifully. I wish they'd cast Florence Lacey, who can still sing it in the original keys and I think could've been great. Oh well. Have you ever heard the workshop where Maureen McGovern plays the part? It was clearly a challenge for her, but she actually did pretty well.
Really?! Wow, you're so lucky to be there! 'And Eve Was Weak' is one of the most difficult songs to sing imho and only BLB can sing it as intense and as manic as this. I can only imagine what its like to see her do this live. And inasmuch as I like both Barbara Cook and Marin Mazzie they're simply no match for Betty. I didn't like it when they lowered the key for the new revival, but that's understandable since Marin can't belt like this.
Too bad the conductor was not able to keep the orchestra up to speed. Otherwise this would have been perfect (and maybe even gotten a commercial release).
gosh we need a copy of this play, and many others, for the ages....
Oh my god. I'be listened to the "recording" so many times but to watch her do it....breathless. Like I was hearing it for the first time.
wow... all these CARRIE vids coming out of the woodwork now! very nice !! keep them coming!
i love this LOL. I just hope they sang evening prayers too. I love it more.
Heard the audio of this and have been searching for video for years. Thank you!!!!!!
Yeah, I have that demo with Maureen. She's pretty good and I like her interpretation. :)

I was at this show and it was so thrilling! I too like Barbara Cook and Marin but they can't touch Betty Buckley's intensity and power!
holy Carrie! what a find!
I hope you get the ones up for the As if we never say Goodbye, onto Gypsy Rose Lee!

THANK YOU :)!!!
Oh my gosh I got chills.
Betty sure can take a bow loll.
This demo of which you speak, how would one get a hold of it?
i would love to hear this demo, where can I find it?
Do you have when Linzi performed "Carrie" at the concert?
She’s not Piper but she does a good job.
Then they should've cast someone who could belt in a no legit tone. Carrie, is not for legit singers....PERIOD!!!!
