In this piece Kevin gives a strong sense of reality by using intense colors in the for ground against a more subdued background. This achieves depth and gives the viewer a sense of how tall the falls are. Nice atmosphere-the mist that fills the canyon..you can feel the power of the volume of water cascading down. Nice vibrant colors..the oranges and greenery..A brilliant use of color vs light and shadow to define the transition between compositional elements. Finally, the use of light conveys the mood of the scene...a rim view which is spectacular...I can feel the mist and hear the roar of the cascade....
This is so beautiful. I watch it over and over! Trying to get the courage to attempt painting it. DVD would be awesome! lol I know I but you for DVDs, but that's what you get when your a professional artists...hehe! :)
