i was in amsterdam 4 days ago and listened to this song in a vintage shop; when i heard it i immediately put shazam on and now i'm on a loop since that moment
jesus... that analog synth arpeggio running through the whole thing is beyond hypnotic. Fucking love this. Kind of reminds me of when Scissor Sisters covered Floyd. But they didn't sound like Floyd, this sort of does. So good.
Space Is the place Where nothing ever changes And you can't find a trace Of fallout From a heartbreak Disconnect from human interface Can you feel it All the downside Of living with a memory Dying in the sky It's too late, late, late Don't play your games here anymore because heaven knows what heavens know and you've got nowhere left to go You take, take, take I won't take games from you no more because heaven knows what the heavens know and i've got nothing left to show you Stars From afar Glimmer like a promise Made to light the dark Of isolation Left in wonder While living off distant mem'ries of the heart But the mem'ries Like the promise Faded into darkness Withered in the night It's too late, late, late Don't play your games here anymore because heaven knows what heavens know and you've got nowhere left to go You take, take, take I won't take games from you no more because heaven knows what the heavens know and i've got nothing left to show you Flights In the night If nothing better happens Could we find a place To hideout From a half-life Celestial bodies burning out of sight If we make it On the far side Never live asunder Never recognize It's too late, late, late Don't play your games here anymore because heaven knows what heavens know and you've got nowhere left to go You take, take, take I won't take games from you no more because heaven knows what the heavens know and i've got nothing left to show you
This came across my Spotify "Discover Weekly" playlist. I had to play this back to back to The Warriors theme song (also used in the Baseball Furies scene) to compare them.
"A Place Called Space" sounds like as if Giorgio Moroder & Pink Floyd unite to produce the soundtrack/score for "The Warriors" (by Walter Hill) ------------------> I'm overwhelmed!
If you like this you should check out The Juan MacLean's stuff from their previous albums: Less Than Human (2005) and The Future Will Come (2009). It's been a pretty interesting build up. His 2005 album in particular was very different from most of what was happening at the time (as has been the case with many DFA releases) and holds up well.
LOVING THIS... ever wondered what would happen if PWL did a remix of black sabbath !!! this is as close as we'll ever get in PROG ROCK HEAVEN well done guys xxx
2:10 is where I was glad I wasn't in a club, cos that's the point I'd be embarrassing myself. not over anything as cheesy as a drop, but because that's where I'd realise that's what I was listening to.
+drewbud87 totally... updated Floyd. This song is sick. If I smoked weed still, I'd be on a different planet with this shit. Still great on a few beers.

This is one of the reasons I love DFA so much!
Space
Is the place
Where nothing ever changes
And you can't find a trace
Of fallout
From a heartbreak
Disconnect from human interface
Can you feel it
All the downside
Of living with a memory
Dying in the sky
It's too late, late, late
Don't play your games here anymore
because heaven knows what heavens know
and you've got nowhere left to go
You take, take, take
I won't take games from you no more
because heaven knows what the heavens know
and i've got nothing left to show you
Stars
From afar
Glimmer like a promise
Made to light the dark
Of isolation
Left in wonder
While living off distant mem'ries of the heart
But the mem'ries
Like the promise
Faded into darkness
Withered in the night
It's too late, late, late
Don't play your games here anymore
because heaven knows what heavens know
and you've got nowhere left to go
You take, take, take
I won't take games from you no more
because heaven knows what the heavens know
and i've got nothing left to show you
Flights
In the night
If nothing better happens
Could we find a place
To hideout
From a half-life
Celestial bodies burning out of sight
If we make it
On the far side
Never live asunder
Never recognize
It's too late, late, late
Don't play your games here anymore
because heaven knows what heavens know
and you've got nowhere left to go
You take, take, take
I won't take games from you no more
because heaven knows what the heavens know
and i've got nothing left to show you

Moroder is crap , this sounds a lot more like legends Craftwerk .
@@tomgengar Did I ask for your opinion? No, I didn't. So piss off!
dope ... reminds me of The Warriors soundtrack - in a badass way!
this is TOTALLLY the opening credits vibe!!! yeah, we remember
There's been a heap of 80s synth-rock riffing records post Drive OST but this is the best I've heard yet. An absolutely cracking album.

GIORGIO MORODER Inspired all the way.... GOOD JOB....
This is aging really well
2:10 is where I was glad I wasn't in a club, cos that's the point I'd be embarrassing myself. not over anything as cheesy as a drop, but because that's where I'd realise that's what I was listening to.
wow
This sounds more like Pink Floyd to me, than anything else, but I do hear Moroder in the synth bass.
+drewbud87 totally... updated Floyd. This song is sick. If I smoked weed still, I'd be on a different planet with this shit. Still great on a few beers.
The vocal delivery really reminds me of Comfortably Numb

Audio gold
