Bem vindos a Portugal . Warm greetings from a Portuguese girl living in the U.K. at the moment . I’m from the north of Portugal and my teenage son was born in Porto!! 🇵🇹🇺🇸❤️💚💙
Happened upon your channel earlier this week. Well narrated, great videos, and a nice dose of sensitivity. I live half of each year in Setúbal, the the rest in Atlanta. If you get down to Lisbon, it's an hour further south by train. The great natural beauty around our city and its thousands of years of multi-cultural history will surely appeal to you both. Tasty food and a wonderful vibe too. Wishing you a terrific future in this lovely country. Hope we can share a meal. Take care and stay safe. Abraços , Bill.
We really like Setúbal and hope to play down there later this year! Thanks for the kind comment and maybe we'll see you the next time we're down that way!
Enjoyed your talk and look forward to hearing more. I’m especially interested in hearing about the jazz scene in Portugal. My wife and I were there for a month two years ago and we loved every part of the country. Good luck in your new home. Obrigado e boa sorte.
Thank you bnamm1! I’m constantly surprised to find music schools and conservatories all over Portugal. There is a jazz scene here for sure, but also an adventurous spirit with music and art here. So the jazz may have an electronica element, or avant-garde feel which is really cool to hear. As well as traditional jazz. Thanks again for the kind words.
Hi: UA-cam suggested me your channel. It was a very nice surprise !! I became a widower in 2017 in Argentina and made my choise of the place I´m living in Coimbra around July 2021. But I choose Malveira da Serra in the vicinity of Sintra first. Google Earth showed me a bad safety, with iron bars and even an electric fence nearby in Cabo da Roca. I´m still traveling each year to Argentina to solve things. Being an older guy who has lived nearly everywhere, I really congratulate you for your election of Portugal
Thanks for this video. It’s inspiring. I’m also a musician, and my wife and I recently sold our house in Los Angeles and are either moving to North Carolina or considering Portugal. Your reasons for moving are nearly identical to ours. Especially healthcare and safety. Fascinated that you moved there without visiting! I’ve played Lisbon before but we still wanted to visit again and see other parts. We were/are planning a trip there in fall but now hesitant w Delta surging. Anyway thanks again and subscribed.
Awesome! If you make it out in the fall, let us know, we’d love to talk you into Portugal.😁 We lived in Raleigh area for a few years as well, we know the difference. Either way, please ask any questions and we’ll see if we can answer them.
@@musicianslife360 Great! And thanks we may take you up on the offer if we make it there. I just did my first international trip since Covid and it was to London and went smoothly. After the initial hassles of testing 72 hours before the flight and a few tests while there for work, it seemed once there, local people were not masked or asking for proof of vax at pubs or restaurants. I was still cautious and masked when needed. So I’m wondering about your experiences there. Are restaurants, hotels, etc asking for proof of vaccination and Covid tests or is it relatively loose like the UK once you’re there?
@@emersonswinford8949 there’s a little more precaution here I think. They ask for vax at restaurants on the weekends, but you can sit outside without a vax or covid test. Hotels are looking for your paperwork. It’s seems to be loosening up in stages, Portugal is now about 70% vaxed, so they’re adjusting with that. Venues are opening up for shows in various ways, some outside etc…and some just now opening their doors in September. As usual with this whole mess, we’ll see how this goes.
Thanks! I was slightly shocked that it was so loose in the UK. Caution is best, but it sounds easy enough to navigate. I’ll definitely let you know if we make it there.
Hey @emersonswinford8949 was remembering our conversation and was wondering what you guys decided to do? Portugal? North Carolina??? Hope you guys are doing well
I really hope you guys keep doing videos! I'm an aspiring musician (I'm older but that won't stop me!) and feel like you guys have really answered a ton of my questions. I just applied for Portuguese citizenship (parents are from Portugal) and can't wait until I'm approved. I want to visit and maybe even stay. For many of the reasons you moved, I wish to as well. Great video
@Dave D we really appreciate the kind words. Please subscribe so you know when our next video comes out. You should definitely come to stay, it’s a magical place.
O governo português vai aprovar um pacote de medidas para atrair luso descendentes, nós estamos a precisar de rejovenecser a nossa população, seja bem vindo.
You are a Bliss, it’s the part of you that wants to keep trying things and new experiences. But you are a Lloyd and Barga as well, the best of all worlds. Just keep living life to the fullest, whatever that means to you, and that’s the only thing that matters.
Thanks for the information. We are currently living in Raleigh for the last two years before we were in Germany and almost purchased a home on the Silver Coast but moved back to the states instead. We are now in the process of retiring to Portugal in May 2022. My husband is a vocal musician and is currently with the Raleigh Corale arts society and is looking to connect with other musicians. Would love to connect to with you both concerning our move and the musicians life in Portugal.
@Susan King, That would be great, we will answer any questions we can and talk about what we are finding out here in Portugal. Love Raleigh, great city.
Sweet vibes! I also write and record music in TX. Doing a gear reduction prior to Portugal move in 2022. Only bringing what can fit on the plane. Will be curious if you have success with getting your US electronic gear to work in PT with converters and adapters.
Smart plan to only bring what you can on the plane. We have some equipment that is precious and priceless to me, and we would not be able to replace it over here. We will talk more about the US electronic gear and the process that we end up going with to make everything work, hopefully. 🤞
Hey guys! Well done. My wife, daughter and I are looking to make the move to Portugal by the end of the year. Im a musician also… just wondering how have you found the earning ability there? True, we just mean the weather up in Porto reminds us of San Francisco and heard it also can be like the weather in Portland. But yes, Lisbon with it’s “Golden Gate” bridge copy, and trolleys, does have a very San Francisco like quality to it. Appreciate the comments!
So, I was born in the city of Porto, having lived near Fort Lauderdale,Fl for 20 years, I’m now in New York… As I’m retired and lately mulling wether to move back to Portugal..I’ll be flying to Porto in mid April and will have plenty of time to think about what I’m going to do!!. Can’t wait🙋🏻♂️.. The political climate as well as division and crime in the U.S.A. Is really beginning to bother me a lot😩😩.. Good luck to both of you🙏🙏

We've been here a few months now and moved for most of the same reasons! We started in Lisbon but are still trying to find the perfect place for us.

@JBSpecialMusic Did you make it over to Portugal? If so, where did you land and make home?
@@musicianslife360 Yep, I've been here over a year. Living in Figueira da Foz. Making connections with both immigrant and Portuguese musicians.
