Only difference 30 years ago we had the Homeless Taskforce on Ga Ave ( Summerhill). My mom finally broke the generational curses for her children when she received a Housing voucher & I just purchased my first home for my children!! I pray that God bless her and her kids in a Supernatural way.
It’s not that the government doesn’t want to help married couples, it’s the fact that TWO able-bodied adults should be able to work to support the children they keep having. I only feel bad for their children. Somethings not adding up with the moms story.

Worked my ass off to get sober, went through a DV shelter & kept full-time jobs the whole time…getting promoted to management in the process. It’s gotta be hard with 9 kids (I have 3) but at least ONE of them has to have a job. Can’t keep relying on their daughter’s SSI solely. Stop having kids, go get a job & put the footwork in to really get mentally, financially & emotionally stable. Those kids deserve that. Praying for y’all.

Exactly 100% and by doing this, + without daily childcare. One parent works a day job while the other parent works a night job. Leaving each parent having a turn to be home to watch the kids while the eldest child helps out only here and there if needed. The kids will always have a parent at home. Plus the parents won't have so much time being bored, and lazy all day at home making multiple babies while preferring to stay on the system. If serious about getting off the system, this the way to provide for your kids.

It's a surprise to me too because this is the first black woman I've seen in a long long time that has 9 kids and is married and under the age of 40. I think the question was to understand an 11 year old perspective. She is happy to be out of the house without all her siblings. That was surprising but we would not know if he had not have asked. I don't feel sorry for her or her situation. It is a simple equation if you can't afford children don't have them! These are grown people who should know better. The father is almost 45 and the mother is 34. Two lazy people who want to ride the system.
Obviously they were "up" when they were making their family. They even had a 5 bedroom home until it was deemed unlivable or whatever had happened. I knew of a family something similar happened. Had a slumlord and their house was deemed unlivable but they didn't have anyplace to go and was having a hard time finding something in price range. They had a big family as well. They said they wished that they never complained to the city about their raggedy house if they had know they would have been thrown out of it. Tried shelters but it's no availability for larger families and with dad. Even if their was availability the family would had to split up making things even harder for them.
The road block is the social security. I'm assuming he's trying to find a job that won't pay him TOO MUCH so that he'll still be eligible for his benefits. I believe they cap it.
I'm not the one to gossip but I know someone who got a decent job at a Textile plant. Do yall know they gave him an advance on his paycheck (not sure how much) and they provide commute transportation for him and other employees to and from work. Free! Love this interview and my heart goes out to the family. With that being said, one of the parents has to dedicate at least 12 hours a day trying to find employment. I learned as a child shoe shine boy never to accept the word no or rejection. Gotta keep going back to job locations that have turned you down. There's a real possibility that eventually one of those who initially rejected you will decide to hire you. My wife of 40 years rejected my advances 3 times before she even gave me the opportunity to dance with her. I used that as a learning lesson when trying to obtain employment in which I was initially rejected. May God continue to watch over this precious family 😊🙏💜....

It's a surprise to me too because this is the first black woman I've seen in a long long time that has 9 kids and is married and under the age of 40. Usually that's something the old school generation does like Michael Jackson's family. So yes, it's a wow from me as well. A good wow. Also being married works against a woman with kids when it comes to benefits, so you rarely see this.

I dont think it's a big deal. Honestly many will donate after seeing her cry and she will have a smile then, I pray. Most of us just don't watch, we donate. We must hear the story to be compelled to donate. Her mom allowed it. It was a question pertaining to homelessness, not sexual abuse. I think the question was to understand an 11 year old perspective. She is happy to be out of the house without all her siblings. That was surprising but we would not know if he had not have asked. If it hurt your heart so bad, I pray you donate.

I don't feel sorry for her or her situation. It is a simple equation if you can't afford children don't have them! These are grown people who should know better. The father is almost 45 and the mother is 34. Two lazy people who want to ride the system.
Obviously they were "up" when they were making their family. They even had a 5 bedroom home until it was deemed unlivable or whatever had happened.
I knew of a family something similar happened. Had a slumlord and their house was deemed unlivable but they didn't have anyplace to go and was having a hard time finding something in price range. They had a big family as well. They said they wished that they never complained to the city about their raggedy house if they had know they would have been thrown out of it.
Tried shelters but it's no availability for larger families and with dad. Even if their was availability the family would had to split up making things even harder for them.

I'm not the one to gossip but I know someone who got a decent job at a Textile plant. Do yall know they gave him an advance on his paycheck (not sure how much) and they provide commute transportation for him and other employees to and from work. Free! I realize that Chicago is dangerous, but walking the streets of Atlanta with 9 kids and a stay at home dad is a recipe to fail. They move to Atlanta around family that they don't "click" with🤔. Love this interview and my heart goes out to the family. With that being said, one of the parents has to dedicate at least 12 hours a day trying to find employment. I learned as a child shoe shine boy never to accept the word no or rejection. Gotta keep going back to job locations that have turned you down. There's a real possibility that eventually one of those who initially rejected you will decide to hire you. My wife of 40 years rejected my advances 3 times before she even gave me the opportunity to dance with her. I used that as a learning lesson when trying to obtain employment in which I was initially rejected. May God continue to watch over this precious family 😊🙏💜....
