Awesome March back. ...Great to see Ross Harvey carry that Cup all the way , all the hard work to get to this point. Looks like the past PM Ross Walker playing in the PS position and rightly so to enjoy the moment of glory after years of hard work in the making of a World Champion Band ..We'll deserved for Boghall and Bathgate at the end of a great 2023 season for them....
Congratulations to Boghall, totally deserved. Watched it live stream here in Ireland. Brilliant result. Well done to Glasgow for such a Brilliant set up. Played there many times.Pipebands are a family, from Grade 4B to Grade1. When you're involved it's an addition. Best music in the world. Again, well done and enjoy the moment. @@aspirantdrummer Ya. That doesn’t make sense. I’ve seen it happen lots of times in band competitions. Also in solos. End when you look at the scores given on the pipes and drums site, SFU had one run where they placed 1,2,1 on one sheet but the other piping judge gave a 5 or 6. I could see if maybe ensemble or a drumming judge gave that kind of score because of a major error or blending. But there’s 2 piping judges and you wonder sometimes if they were even listening to the same band
He judged them in the MSR on the Friday. That fact now appears to have been erased from history. It's all a bit Orwellian. I feel sorry for Boghall and for the other Grade 1 bands who may now feel that the results weren't properly obtained. On the day, my view (from the tuning park) was that it was the closest competition there has been in years. That's good for pipe bands in general, but this controversy and the sour taste it is bound to leave isn't good for the movement, and is a sad state of affairs for all of the bands involved.
I would like to see a combination of the Indian pow wow together with the Glasgow highland scot championships for once. They could hold it in Montana US😊A. No beer or whiskey though. Just buffalo haggis an Pringles and milks.
Are there other tunes played besides that one?? Seems like they transition to a few others. The set is absolutely amazing, can't stop listening to it. Reminds me of the first worlds I bought on tape...1987, the big upset.

@billmcmaster9555 Natt Russell, one of the judges, gave them a 14. after they played their MSR 1 back in Friday

Pipes can be joyful when needed, it's not always about regret and loss.

That would be a very unusual sound.
Finally. They've won.
What is the name of tune they're playing? I don't think I've ever heard a more JOYFUL tune on the pipes !!!

Around 7 minutes someone next to the camera is struggling with their drones
Not really. Ross Walker was stopping playing to tell Ross Harvey to get the Jubilee Trophy. He let up in pressure on the bag temporarily.
Congratulations, well deserved and long overdue!!!
