Thanks Shayne. The video effects were done with my Hi8 camera as I was actually filming. They were not post production. It was part of my way of producing different videos to normal where I had a lot of fun while filming. The Hi8 camera had two lenses in it that enabled all these things to be done. I recently had the camera repaired and the chap doing the repair work said he knew the Hi8 could do those things, but he had never seen anyone do it. So he was pleased that I have a few hundred hours of videos where I have used the effects quite often.
I remember convincing a friend of mine at Penhros to book Cinema Prague to play at their year 12 ball in 1996(?)… it was so awesome. Happy to find this video!
We booked them four our year 12 ball in '97. I had fun, as did some of my friends. There were lots of puzzled expressions from the rest of the folks though. :)
Repleat with 1990s video mixer effects! Fuck we've had some good bands in perth. CP where my absolute favorite, there where some other spectacular bands, but I suspect for a lot of us, CP where the ones that shoulda been world famous but didn't cos perths on the other side of the planet from everyone. Oh well.

@@anthonyclarke6583 oh and you might wanna update your video description. George Kalais on Guitar Rex Horan on Bass Tim Lowe on Drums Interesting some of those effects kinda came back into vogue. Check out some of King Gizzards (melbs psych/prog band) filmclips, they've pretty intentionally gone for that low-fi look in some of the vids. Juries out as to how tasteful it is, but its definately an aesthetic.
Such joy!! I was 15 at the time. I loved Cinema Prague, man I miss those days!
George, your guitar work is as puzzling and mysterious now as it was then.
Thank you so much for this wonderful, priceless footage of WA’s greatest band ever bar none.
george K on lead , Rex h on bass , Tim on drums
Thanks George for posting this to MUSTROCK. It was a pleasure to make the video, and I am pleased with the great comments from everyone.
