i tried out my new quicksilver today, so far its doing ok .i cant believe how light it is.so far no money found just some tabs. i did get a signal but quit because its cold out. will keep ya posted on further searches.
@Joe Dirté yeah unless the target is fairly large and iron...I never got anything in normal soil deeper than 6" that was accurate to what the detector said it was (I.e. coins). In sand I got good results to about 8" up to probably 10"
Still have this one. Added the headphone mod. Usually pull it out when I've dropped nails or a tool in the grass. It's great for objects on the surface.
So I have this detector....I had no idea the depth changed telling me how deep something is....in fact I have never seen it change unless I push the button directly below it to change the sensitivity. Can you elaborate on this a little more please?
and what tone does a real silver merc dime give? or or the coins worth looking for?? i have a bhqs and i have about 15hrs on it and still havent come across any real silver...but it has found about 10.00 in old clad and at least 50-75 pull tabs and cans
For some reason, mine is giving me crazy signals even when I'm holding it up in the air away from everything, then nothing when I'm right on top of a quarter. Wtf?
Hello I know you probably don't need this info anymore but mine did it to and the problem with it is that the batteries tap against each other in it if you put something thin between the two battery it should stop
I've been getting into metal detecting and you said it could find coins does that include silver and gold and can I find silver and gold rings and will any 3.5 mm headphones plug in to it
jake i just order my bounty hunter quicksilver im really can wait to see the ups truck arriving lol i do a lot search before buy a detector i read a lot and im really happy with this one price is not bad i paid 120 with pinpointer include . ok my question is can i used this in the beach yes or no and i read before he can go 8"deep is true or i can reach more deep then that thanks for you time
The quick silver's coil is submersible but not the control box. Also if it is saltwater the salt may interfere with the detection but it will work just fine in the dry sand at the saltwater beaches.
Hello WarrocketAjax- The coil is submersible however a new coil will not add performance in saltwater or wet salty sand. You need a machine with manual ground balance for that environment. You might want to look into a Teknetics G2 or Fisher F75 as we are the same companies and they will be able to ground balance to salt.
Brandon- The discrimination will help eliminate bottle caps, however some bottle caps are tricky and tend to trick most any machine on the market. That being said your use and experience coupled with the discrimination on the Quick Silver will help you avoid most bottle caps.
Eu tenho um bounty Hunter Pioneer só que quebrou depois de muitos anos de uso tamos guardo ele até hoje na esperança de ressuscitar ele para mim o melhor detector do mercado até hoje 🇧🇷🇧🇷
James- You are correct. Thanks for commenting on the Quick Silver be sure to visit our official Facebook page, there is a link to it in the description of this video!
Hey I got one of these about a week ago, and it does not work. As soon as I turn it on, it just makes random beeps, when there is nothing there. I have read the whole manual, and I have done nothing to disturb it. Is there any way you can help me? thank you.
Ted Lucky Ted try lowering your sensitivity settings. Also are you trying this inside your house? If so try it outside away from any sources of Electro Magnetic Interference. If you are till having a problem call our customer service at 1-800-413-4131
Bounty Hunter Metal Detectors - my son just got your detector for Christmas. we had a question on depth as well. Is it 7 inch for each settings for a total of 21 inch depth or 7 inch total depth and 2.5 on each setting thanks. great product
Thomas- The Quick Silver will respond to a silver dime like a merc in the exact same way it does to a modern clad dime. Yes it is still worth while searching for silver coins as they are still found daily. Perhaps change the areas you are searching. Look for areas that have not been detected much over the years and also have a history of being around during the period of which coins you are looking for.
chaoshunterxyz- The Quick silver will do very well on the dry sand even at saltwater beaches. But like most detectors that are not specifically designed for saltwater operation the wet saltwater sand will cause the quicksilver to behave somewhat erratically due to the salt and mineralization. Good luck!
Andrew Goodwin Hello Andrew- The Quick Silver will work just fine in the wet and dry sand at fresh water beaches. It's best to stay in the dry sand at salt water beaches as the salt/mineral content in the wet salty sand causes difficulties for most detectors. The coil is waterproof but the control box is not.
Hello- All metal detectors have their limits. The larger the item is the deeper it can be detected of course there are many other factors such as ground mineralization for instance.
I bought this because it says for gold prospecting too, but it doesn't work, show me how or tell me if it works for gold prospecting or not... I'm a true 49 niner, hunting for gemstones and gold.. .
TheRrodriguez1 Hello- The Quick Silver will detect gold in clean ground but does struggle in heavily mineralized soil like any other machine that does not have manual ground balance.
I had a similar problem once. I was detecting in a park and noticed that when I was within the vicinity of the floodlight poles in the ball field, my detector began to give false signals due to electrical interference.
The user of the metal detector sets the discrimination level yet this man states, "it's going to show up at medium depth because I was at medium depth." Your tutorial videos aren't very accurate.
It's junk. Got mine today, read and reread the instructions, did everything by the book, didn't detect the nail, quarter, nickle,or the penny, but it freaks out when you hold it in the air..

Can the quick silver run with 4" gold nugget coil and find gold?
I found a car parked in my driveway with this metal detector. Amazing sensitivity!
Bet the car thinks that SUCKS since it did NOT get a say in the find. LOL
@Joe Dirté yeah unless the target is fairly large and iron...I never got anything in normal soil deeper than 6" that was accurate to what the detector said it was (I.e. coins). In sand I got good results to about 8" up to probably 10"

What kind of barriers did you use
I’m a little late on the party here, but is the overall maximum depth 7 inches depending on size?
This is so helpful, thanks!! This is the model I just ordered..I'm stoked!! 😁
We hope you are still enjoying your Quick Silver Chelsea! Thank you for your support!
So I have this detector....I had no idea the depth changed telling me how deep something is....in fact I have never seen it change unless I push the button directly below it to change the sensitivity. Can you elaborate on this a little more please?
i already ordered it and its on its way one question though. how does it do on beaches
Which quick silver model is this? Thank you. Great video!

will it detect gold?

Excellent review! I will consider the Quicksiver metal dector.
Where is the signal strength and continuous tone with variation in tone ???
For some reason, mine is giving me crazy signals even when I'm holding it up in the air away from everything, then nothing when I'm right on top of a quarter.
Wtf?

What does the target al zn
I've been getting into metal detecting and you said it could find coins does that include silver and gold and can I find silver and gold rings and will any 3.5 mm headphones plug in to it
Josh Fink Yes this machine will detect all metals to include silver and gold coins and jewelry. This machine uses the 1/4" plug.
+Josh Fink You can purchase 3.5 mm - 1/4'' adapters (and vice-versa) for a couple of bucks at most any electronic and/or music store
looks like ill be using this detector here in jersey till i can upgrade :)

Yes you can check on our website and detecting . com or any headphones with a 1/4" plug will work with this detector.
mine picks up aluminum on coins only setting
Just got the Bounty Hunter QS today, can I upgrade the coil for salt water wet sand?
Hello WarrocketAjax- The coil is submersible however a new coil will not add performance in saltwater or wet salty sand. You need a machine with manual ground balance for that environment. You do not need headphones as the machine has an external speaker. But you can use headphones if you prefer.

can you give us the aprox deep in inches or foot, according to the deep Shallow or médium ?
On a coin sized target you can expect approximately 7 inches.
Bounty Hunter Metal Detectors - my son just got your detector for Christmas. we had a question on depth as well.
Is it 7 inch for each settings for a total of 21 inch depth or
7 inch total depth and 2.5 on each setting

hi mike, does this detector pick up gold?
Hello Betty- Yes it does, it will pick up all metals including gold!
Does it matter if it's salt water or freshwater and will it work at the beach on sand?
Andrew Goodwin Hello Andrew- The Quick Silver will work just fine in the wet and dry sand at fresh water beaches. It's best to stay in the dry sand at salt water beaches as the salt/mineral content in the wet salty sand causes difficulties for most detectors. The coil is waterproof but the control box is not.
+Bounty Hunter Metal Detectors Does it work with gold and other materials
+Bounty Hunter Metal Detectors thank you!
Bounty Hunter Metal Detectors why not make a waterproof model?
YES,Google the manual & read it.
after what vorkev said , im almost afraid to take it out of the box
I have the Pioneer EX and I already found a 1996 quarter, 1 dime, and 9 pennies with 1966, 1980, 1983, 1993, 1994, 1997, 2006, 2008, and 2014 on them

does it only find silver?
Finds any metal.Google search the manual & read it so you can make an informed choice.
Yes, the Quick Silver will most certainly will detect gold.
Hello- All metal detectors have their limits. The larger the item is the deeper it can be detected of course there are many other factors such as ground mineralization for instance.
Good. Cause I have a quicksilver and i like it alot!
Thomas- Yes, the Quick Silver does to detect gold.
i will bye it!!!
great review!!
Does it work with gold
Ian Benson I'm sure it will
YES but it will sound like IRON just FYI.Don't block IRON or it will miss most Gold.
This is the Bounty Hunter Quick Silver.
Jake- You do not need them but you can use them.
The manual says that using headphones improves battery life, which is a good thing.
my detector with iron and alum zinc rejected will still pickup aluminum signal
is there a way to calibrate a quick silver because mine will pick up aluminum on coin setting, never find anything other than aluminum
You never dig trash with this machine, only downside is you don't dig anything else.
Do u need headphones
No but the battery life is longer if you us them. Not sure why but that's what the owners manual says.
It's junk. Got mine today, read and reread the instructions, did everything by the book, didn't detect the nail, quarter, nickle,or the penny, but it freaks out when you hold it in the air..
It is very unfortunate you are having issues Lynn. Please contact our customer service at 1-800-413-4131 and we will be happy to help.

I seen your eyes going left to right. Not from the heart, you read it. :p
Nice detector, the three tones sold me for such an inexpensive detector.
You should use a plastic spade, you could scratch coins with a metal one
Yes, the Quick Silver will most certainly will detect gold.
What will gold read as? Mine only has targets labeled iron/AL ZN/ AL 5 c/ coins. Just got a used one today
