I have watched a lot of these apple peeler-corer demonstration videos, and yours is by far the best and the easiest to understand and the most thorough. Brilliant! Thank you!
Brilliant! Bravo. Thank you. I pulled my old Johnny Apple Peeler out of the moving box after a few years of sitting and it never worked right so I dumped it, and am on my 3rd amazon made in ? Not USA which all lasted about 2-3 apples and ended up the same way. This video has been so informative and inspirational I’m going in again. Thanks again. 🍎🍐🍏
Dan, as usual, an amazing presentation, with your usual innovativeness and practical advice. My husband swore thru doing the apples this year with our old one; will try the new one before next year.
I LOVE the standard size cut. The old one with thinner slices was too thin for my taste. Im definitely buying the new peeler. Great video. You have me sold!! Apple pie coming right up!!
Thanks! We've had the new one for two years now and done a lot of apples. (200+ lbs?) Still very happy with it. Starting another 60 lbs of apples later today.
This video was so well done! I could see everything in detail, you were thorough but not exhaustive, and I loved the laser idea! Also, didn’t know the thinner slice auger shaft was available, so thank you. I plan to dehydrate my slices so that was nice to see that option.
That’s great to hear you’re still liking it. After reading a lot of reviews I bought this one last night. There are so many to choose from. It’s always really nice though to hear about people’s experience with a product after multiple uses, so your comment makes me feel better about ordering this model.
I'm a little late here, but I wish I could still find the kind that isn't a suction cup base. I feel like the suction part doesn't last a good long time.
I know this video was year ago but have you ever found new blades? Mine wore out really quickly. I still keeping mine on the table, even dampening it doesn't help it to stick
Mine will even stay stuck to the counter overnight. Maybe because it's sealed granite? Replace parts can be found on Amazon (I have *not* tried them. They may not fit all brands) - Universal Apple Peeler Replacement Blades (6 Pcs) amzn.to/3X4zDLn or amzn.to/45WhhR3
I had that first peeler. I got it from Pampered Chef. I forget why, but i had to throw it away. Im looking for better. Hope he says where he got his second.
No I haven't, but when I look at them side-by-side they seem nearly identical in most respects. I did notice that the Williams Sonoma one did have the release level on the correct side. They really are great peelers/slicers/corers. We just used ours two days ago to slice and core (but not peel) 25 lbs of pears for freeze drying. I do like them better than my old one.
I really don't know. The only things I can think of right now is - Is the apple pushed onto the prong things far enough or is it possible to have the blade on backwards? Does it do the same thing with and without peeling? (just slicing)
True, but most people 1) probably don't use theirs enough to wear it out, 2) aren't willing to pay an extra dollar or two for a replaceable bushing feature, and 3) couldn't install a bushing if they had one. 😁 Thanks!
I used my garage sale find a like new apple peeler corer slicer with bolt mechanisim and didn't find a problem finding the center . I don't like that it's necessary to fasten to my table leaf due to narrower thickness and that it points away rather than sideways . One advantage is to be able ro sit down . I do have a Victiro apple grinder reserving sauce removing waste ( corer and peel)( I do save peels for jelly or cider vinegar) altho must be cooked. With the chemicals being added to our food particularly a chemical wax called A-peel, I find it nessary to peel the morning breakfast apple for hubby who has chemically induced Parkinson's from Agent orange, so I don't want to contribute to daily ingesting of this. Thank goodness in the fall, I get apples from a local private orchard by the 5 gal buckets full so won't have to peel all of those for applesauce. The Victiro is great for that and I freeze in quart bags ,lie flat and stack they don't spray or add wax.
The peeler arm is spring loaded; you just push it down out of the way and it locks in place. I think you can see it pretty well here - Apple Picking and Slicing October 9th - ua-cam.com/video/EHhP9AmzI5Q/v-deo.htmlsi=mCFoi7YySA-9ANll&t=106

@@SchoolReports Missed! By pinning it appropriately you''ll loose its eccentricity and the apple will still have an excellent spherical shape. What a disappointment. to learn that an apple core is more often then not NOT the geometrical axis of an apple. But keep trying.

So far, so good, for this peeler. We used it for 4 seasons of apples now, over 500 lbs and no issues yet.
Your voice is so soothing. The video is very informative and since I just purchased one of these peelers, it's right on time. Thank you =)
Dan, as usual, an amazing presentation, with your usual innovativeness and practical advice. My husband swore thru doing the apples this year with our old one; will try the new one before next year.
I love those apple peelers and use them a lot. The laser idea is awesome and will be implementing the idea.

I sure hope it works as well for you; I'd love to hear how it does for you.
thank you, that was very informative. I couldn't remember how that peeler worked, it had been so long since I last used it.
Thanks for watching. I hope it was useful.

Love the potato idea too!!
Thank you for the tip about the laser. I will have to try it. I'm having a problem getting mine to core straight.
Love the laser . Would never have thought of that. Argh, argh, argh, more power, more boy toys! 😂
🤣 If something is worth doing, it's probably worth overdoing!
Well done, what a great idea 💡
Yes!!! Thanks for the name!!!
Very thoughtful video.....loved it!
I have the same apple peeler and a similar temp thing. That is genius using the laser!!
It sure made it a lot easier to get the apple on correctly every time.

All that video and you never show when and how to release the peeler blade. Not once.
At 4:27 ? or at 6:37 ? Is there another peeler blade release I forgot or don't know about?
Two ads? 13 mins in and the Apple isn't even in the corer? What a waste if time...
