A true under-rated legend
this man needs a tiny desk concert
Should have his own podcast
And a KEXP
I second this notion!!
Swamp Dogg deserves an hour-length WIMB.
Should have a podcast
I wish this one was twice as long!
Woohoo! Love Swamp Dogg. He is one of the miracles of the music business. Criminally under the mainstream radar but extraordinarily influential. The records he has made as a producer and artist are all sublime. How he has managed to stay so active and so un-acknowledged for so long is one of musics great mysteries.
The original Dogg...
Hell, yea.
Check out the Tales from the Tour Bus on Showtime. Swamp Dog is heavily featured in the Johnny Paycheck episode. He wrote “Don’t Take Her She’s All I’ve Got” too. The seconds season on funk is even better. P-Funk baby! 🤘🏻🛸💨
All hail the great Swamp Dogg! A one of a kind artist and one hell of a songwriter! 🙌🏿👏🏿🙌🏿
Swamp Dogg is the fucking man!
Long live Swamp Dogg!
Give this man his own channel
"That's the weird part about living. One day you're gonna be gone"
TRUTH! I'm going to the other side soon.
My message to the living: BE GOOD, SO GOOD, DO GOOD, STAY GOOD UNTIL YOUR LAST BREATH.
Friend of mine met Swamp Dogg a few years ago. They grabbed a picture together. It was at a show, and he said Swamp was the coolest, nicest dude.
Love Swamp Dogg! He wrote a lot of great songs for Johnny Paycheck.
Edit: And he loves Little Richard? Well now I love him even more
"Take This Job and Shove It"
@@andrimufid2195 According to wikipedia, that song was written by David Allan Coe
This is amazing swamp dogg
great history lessons and good music
So glad to hear someone talk about Joe Tex.
Thought I saw a Korn record in there… 😄 Really enjoyed this video
me too, unnecessary optical illusion
god I was waiting on the edge of my seat to hear him profess his love for Korn lol
Jerry Williams Aka swamp dog God bless america for what ,? a classic
An absolute legend of a man. Thank you so much for this Amoeba!
Criminally forgotten about by the music industry. I can't believe I first discovered him going through a list of the worst album covers of all time 🤣 He was in there for Rat on! Which came out in 1971. Then when I started listening to him I discovered he was a musical genius.
That was in The Guardian, wasn't it? I discovered him from exactly that same article.
Rat On! is the greatest album cover of all time, shame that it keeps getting slandered as bad.
Love him. Great picks, too.
I love old school southern soul and I love swamp dogg.
A hidden gem! Thank you guys!
What an amazing talent......Swamp Dogg....Simply The Best!!
I enjoy his singing voice
I love Swamp Dogg's music ever since my older sister brought home "Total Destruction to your mind" in 1970. My God is that 52 years. If you can get of "Salafaster' or "Appelle moi noir" do you yourself a favor and acquire it for you book of "Life lessons".
This was the BEST episode!!!
I've seen Swamp Dogg several times LIVE this guy has Funk/Blues/R&B in his soul👊
Thank you for the Music History Class, Swamp Dogg. Came here via Eric Ambel. I had heard "Total Destruction to Your Mind" in 1988 as a cover by Eric. Just found out today you are the Original Artist and writer. Glad to be on board!
I adore Swamp Dogg. Man is a genius
Awesome !
Sorry You Couldn't Make It is such a great album. Looking forward to the new record!
Gods gift 💯💯💯✌🏾
Best episode of What's In My Bad to date.
I demand the unedited version of this interview
It's so strange to here Swamp Dogg talk. Such a talented singer/artist. "That's the weird thing about living, soon you're gonna be gone."
Utter legend
an icon!!!
Best What's In My Bag yet...
THE GOAT
I am now convinced Swamp Dogg invented life this man is refusing to get old!
Swamp dogg listens to Korn apparently 🤟🏼 🔥
respect
Love Swamp Dogg and his music! Where can his hat be bought….?
I’m glad you’ve lived so long and I hope you aren’t still saddled with installment payments.
Dave brubeck forever
Johnny Pemberton interviewed Swamp Dogg a few years back
Swamp Dogg 👊
Spinal Tap lol. Great story teller.
Brubeck was at the University of the Pacific.
swamp dogg is a hidden national treasure secret soon to be known
I'm a bit shocked to see AWB on his list. I played that so much I wore the grooves out.
Did anyone else notice that he had korns new album
thought I was tripping
I know! If he talked about that and it was edited out I wanna see the extra footage!
The best John Prine cover of all-time, Swamp Dogg doing "Sam Stone". Better than the original (and I love John Prine).
Have you heard Bettye LaVette's "Souvenirs"?
I don't agree, but I'm not mad. I love them both.
absolutely need to know Swamp Dogg's thoughts on Requiem (2022) by Korn (visible @ 3:23 )
This Is Swamp Dogg. (Everything in his bag goes to 11.)
based swamp dogg
I don't know why him calling Joe Tex the "Shakespeare of the 60s" was so funny to me, I can't stop laughing
_Tales from the Tour Bus_
Rat On!
I never clicked on something so fast in my life.
Sound / mic is a bit sharp. Great up till mic issues.
Snoop Dogg's Dad
ahh, true
Would that make him Uncle Junebug’s brother?
@@OlinKreutzRules and that would make him Blowfly's cousin
Scared by Derek Smalls’s “Big Bottom” 😅
Should have given him a free copy of spinal tap
If Joe Cocker did a guest vocal on a Spaniel’s album it would be called Cocker Spaniels
スワンプドッグ✨🤎
The algorithm confused this with disc golf
This guy's for real. Nice change of pace from the usual young, phony hipsters that are on here.
He had Bon iver one of his most recent albums. Worlds collide.
settle down
Who is this guy
He wrote a couple of country hits, he also made some severely underrated music in the 70’s.
Total Destruction to Your Mind and Surfing to Harlem -- two LPs you could buy for their titles alone!
Who?
If you haven't heard it, there's an amazing two part interview with Swamp Dogg here: songcraft-spotlight-on-songwriters-4bbff581.simplecast.com/episodes/ep-8a-swamp-dogg-shes-all-i-got-1-of-2
