I loved seeing your collection! This was fun. I have a small vintage bathing suit collection, mostly from the 1940’s/50’s but I do own one 20’s wool Jantzen. It’s about a 7 on the itchy scale though so I’ve only worn it a few times 😂. Now I need to start finding some for my husband!!!
Omg I love you guys you always brighten up my day and you have inspired me to be a man from the 20s for Halloween and hope to be like you guys so thank you ever so much!
You two are just darling, and what a fabulous collection you have! Kurt has only the classic black 20s, and I have a 20s wool in a nice royal blue. The only other piece we have is a darling 40s beach playsuit, but I'm getting a little long of tooth to wear that one myself...
Thanks so much for watching Susan! I hope we can see you and Kurt on Catalina Island next year- maybe we should have a beach day so we can show off our vintage bathing suits?
The red one at 3:10, you call it "cotton", which is indeed a part of the fabric, but the quality comes from the mixture with rubber and acetate, going under the brand name Lastex for example. It is an amazing material, that somehow manages to stay like new even after 70 years. Guess I have like 50 Lastex ones from late forties/early fifties, and they all hold up very well. We should re-issue the material.
Sutro baths!! Yes, I’ve seen the remains while I lived in “the city”. I’m also interested in Neptune Beach which I believe was in alameda(??) And of course Michelle looks lovely in anything.
Great collection! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
