Agree about special teams. Finding 11 guys with energy, speed, tackling skill, commitment, discipline should be weekly challenge for all position players.
I too was there in the Big House in 1994. William is so right. About 100,000 people went dead silent. They could not believe what happened. I had Buff gear on and one their bitter fans said "it's better to be lucky than good". I told him we were both.
And you know what? The best thing about him is not what he does in football. The best thing about him by far is who he is as a person. I'm almost three times his age and I look at him as a role model for how I should be in regular life. He truly is a unicorn!
Glad i found this site. First time viewer. now subscriber. As an explorer on all sites churning out Colorado Buff convos, will share the Two of You, together could become the best even keeled, thoughtful commentary that we need . Hopefully, Adam will keep a great side kick-Wiliam- balance is genius. Looking forward to seeing this sites growth-too.
The even keeled part must be Adam, right? LOL No one thinks I'm even keeled, but hopefully thoughtful. I do try to be that. But I'm a passionate and emotional person and I don't try to hide it, so maybe even keeled Adam is the right partner for me. 😉
Adam & William, what did you think about Finebaum saying Sunday Morning. " That he never said anything negative about the team, his statements were solely about Coach Prime PERSONALLY "! 🤔🤔🤔
I think he's an idiot and always has been, which is why I don't pay attention to what he says. Seems kinda stupid and unprofessional for him to say "Hey, this was me getting after a specific person on a personal level" but I think that pretty much shows who he is as a person. He's a low human being. Deion Sanders is not. "Nuff said.
William I love your takes, one of the best offensive line coaches in the world, I believe is hanging out in Colorado, wish they coulda made that call(Munchak) anyway what I don’t understand, why do we wait for the D to do their loops and stunts… why do we not have TUGs or Gut? It seems like we are letting the D dictate what we Do on O, rather than our line pulling, tackle under guards or guards under tackles more, a lead blocker always helps as does a TE, anyway I do feel it was a great win, and agree that win vs WSU and Leach was huge
IMO I don't believe the line can solidify enough to execute more complex blocking schemes with Benson out on the field. Having a guy who's going to whiff or pattycake blocks every play paired with 4 others with consistency issues is a recipe for disaster.
I still think that this team can have a top 15 defense and a top 15 offense. If they run the ball.. design runs and not make bad game management decisions the offense can complement the defense and vice versa. I’ve been saying this for a while now.
I agree in all regards. Watch the last four plays in the TD drive right before halftime if you can find the whole game on you tube. THAT is the kind of run design we need to see more of. They did it again in OT and shoved it right up Baylor's backside. It works. They just have to keep doing it with Augustave and Welch and even Drelon Miller.
You and I agree. I think I made the point in the podcast that at times the Oline looked great in both run and pass, but other times they did not. If you can do it once, you can do it all the time but you have to figure out how to be more consistent. And even Shedeur himself said after the game he held on to the ball too long and didn't have a great game. They got things they can work on to get better and that's a good thing.
Should scientists be studying Travis Hunter? Im seriously asking people because i know a lot of it is how hard he works even when not practicing and watching a ton of film, and a lot of it is his god given talents, but how much of it if any is this ungodly level of stamina and energy? Those muscles etc must be special in some way, no? How does he play THAT much and keep his level of play 100% elite, but also maintain his mental work including routes, defensive schemes, assignments and more? Im beyond myself trying to figure it out! Because we have NEVER seen a player do this. Now theres been a few two way players that did great things, but they didnt play THIS amount of snaps while not losing any of his play level and stamina. Now hes a unicorn 🦄 so its CAN happen, but i honestly believe ill NEVER see a player like this again in my lifetime at least. Heck, we may NEVER EVER see this again. So appreciate it! Thats all im saying. But I do think that he should be looked at!
UCF has a stout run game and KJ wants to show he's a better qb than Shedeur. We have to stop that run immediately and can't let KJ loose. It's a stiff challenge but we have to run the ball and Shedeur gotta be on his quick game and more it may be a shoot out.
interesting dynamics. CU defense is coming along. Holes still exist...big plays from opposing quarterbacks continue to hurt us. Sacks will come as they get better. Offensive line still needs work for sure. Too much pressure on Shedeur, but they are learning and improving. It will take time...hopefully this year. Special teams had a bad night. Must improve to compete with the likes of the bigger teams like K State, Utah. BTW...love your broadcasts...
Watched the all 22 Travis did catch the ball and the Oline did play a lot better than what was seen on the TV copy. The biggest issue was the Rb's not passprotecting.
I agree completely about the RB's not doing well in pass protection. What drives me nuts is everyone says "the offensive line sucks" when it's often the RB's or Shedeur causing the pressure.
I agree with will Shepherd aint the guy start Omarion Miller over him right away! I like his size and leaping ability but Omarion has all of that too WITH HANDS
Utah could win it all with there starting qb back in the lineup. There defense and running game is championship level! Colorado has a long way to go before they can compete with any of the teams in the top ten and definitely not Utah but there trending in the right direction.
Last thing i forgot to add is that we'll be fine on kickoffs. We got guys that can at least do the job and maybe even better than feely. There should be NO kickoffs that remain in play. Fair catch or kick it out of the field of play. Gotta be that way at least @ home...
@@JJStallworth then why not put Miller or Timmons in because they touchdown Miller made was the turning point of the game and he always shine when he plays
Seems like a sure thing to me but usually takes a decade or so to happen. They certainly belong there in my opinion, but then again, they've never asked for my opinion. LOL
Games to remember and you dont mention CU over Notre Dame to win the national championship? No mention of Stewart to Westbrook on the hail mary to beat Michigan... Or perhaps CU vs Iowa State when Rashaan Salaam became the 4th college player in history to run for 2000 yards sealing the 1 and only Heisman Trophy for Colorado... Every game you mentioned as a game to remember were all recent and seemed to mean almost nothing in the bigger picture... I must be old or something...
@@TheTarheelm1ke Ahhhhh ok. That would make more sense then... Was confused when all the games mentioned were recent... Im thinkin how could you forget Salaam taking off on that 67 yard run vs Iowa State to go over 2000 yards and win the Heisman... Or beating Notre Dame to win the title...
I love the new ways we were running the ball on Saturday, especially with both Augustave and Drelon Miller in the backfield at the same time and misdirection action.
Funny how expectations change when you sucked for the past 8yrs then even more before 2016 season. Y'all killing me lol but I'm glad you have these expectations. Two people blew an assignment on coverage on the kickoff and the punt should have been down at the 10 Hood allowed buddy to slip the tackle
Can I ask why you guys didn't know about Travis and Shedeur because most of us " new buffs " have known about these kids for YEARS? Their talent hasn't increased or diminished since getting to boulder....or is it one of those American tales said old as time lol... I understand they were in a HBCU but the talent was and always has been the same.
There's LOTS of things I don't know about and I've never hidden that from anyone. I try not to run my mouth too much about things I don't know about. I'm not a media person so I don't have to pretend I know everything about everything. The answer to your question for me is that the only college football team I follow closely is Colorado and the teams we play, so I don't know much about anyone outside that circle. It's not a lack of respect for HBCU or Travis or Shedeur or Coach Prime in any way. I just have limited time and too many things besides football to focus on. I coached in North Carolina about twenty years ago and used to send my players to HBCU all the time, especially Winston-Salem State, but I think that was before Travis and Shedeur were even born. So that's my reason. I'm old and have limited capacity, ma'am. That's all. LOL
Problem is Hart is too slow as far as I can tell. But Smalls has given us a first down catch in both of the last two games so he does add something. But part of me says why not play Yukiri Walker out there as an extra blocker in some situations. He'll do better than any of our TE's.
I completely agree man those first down catches are great but more importantly we need this guy to assist the oline and hes just not doing that guys literally run right around him it seems like he has zero interest in blocking @WilliamGardner-k6l
Sheduer was in really 25-70 passing the ball… It’s just that 19 of those pass attempts end up running instead of releasing the ball. He is Attempting to pass the ball way too much. He should have a pass count ofno more than 35-40 Passes per game…like A pitch in baseball …..Let’s have more design runs instead. The offense will be more efficient and more effective and so will the defense..
I’m not confident in next week vs. UCF, not just the fact they’re a good team and the weather conditions make help their ground and pound play style. But the fact we won off a miracle I could easily see a huge letdown after coming off such an emotional game.
If you taking a coaching perspective I agree 100 percent. But going in after a win like that can really spark an extra gear in the trajectory of this team. I expect them to play very well in Florida they are battle tested it can be another game of the year situation. UCF and Colorado are both exciting to watch it should be excellent.
