I havnt seen anyone mention this but the lines "An angel of death standing on high" "A warrior beneath in enemy lines" These are representing phil and techno during doomsday. The fandom basically gave Phil's character the title "angel of death" so saying angel of death standing on high is pointing to the fact that majority of doomsday phil was standing on the grid above sending arrows down. The second one is about techno because he was below, in the chaos fighting their enemies head on, that's why its says a warrior - (techno) in enemy lines - (fighting new lmanberg)
i always thought “a warrior beneath in enemy lines” was about ranboo bc it said after that “you were once trusted” and ranboo technically went into enemy lines with Techno to converse with him and he was once trusted, as Tubbo said he was the perfect example of loyalty
The thing that really gets me is in the pre-chorus: "Is this justice? - This is justice." Then you remember that at the end of "Why," after all the dust settles Ghostbur asks Phil, "Do you *still* believe this is the justice you sought after?" It even reflects the changing mentality of c!Philza, that the longer since the events of Doomsday, the less sure he is that he did the right thing after all. They make *such* good companion songs!
Wait since when did c!Phil start questioning the "rigtness" of doomsday? I thought he just took the event more seriously than Techno did, cause whenever Techno jokes about it Phil just says "It was a bit more than just minor terrorism" or something along those lines
@@melanch0lycat5393 When c!Phil and c!Fundy heard that Wilbur was resurrected, they went to go look for him, first in Pogtopia, and then the followed the tunnel out to what was left of L'Manberg. While there, Phil tells Fundy that, while he still believed that it was right to destroy L'Manberg, they may have "taken it a bit too far." Coincidentally, he also learns that day that Wilbur was lying about what was actually happening in his letters - c!Phil had never heard of Jschlatt before. Lately, Phil has been terraforming L'Manhole - for what reason exactly, I'm not sure, since I haven't been keeping up with the streams, but surely he feels some amount of remorse for what happened if he's doing work to beautify it. I'm sure Phil does take Doomsday more seriously than Techno; c!Phil had much more of an emotional connection to the people that lived there and whose homes, pets, and belongings were destroyed (including his orphan grandson and the ghost of his son), even if he didn't care at all about the nation. He had a very full awareness of how his actions affected people's entire livelihoods beyond just blowing up a piece of land. Besides, it's in Techno's nature to make jokes about/during serious lore, just look at how he bullied the homeless man.
@@rachelong3755 I guess there's some remorse with his line of taking it too far, but he still believed it was right anyways so eh. cc!Phil terraforming the L'manhole isn't canon to his character, he just wants to make it prettier
it is interesting that you credit techno with the withers--in the actual vods, philza is the one that spawned the most of them (which has interesting implications when you consider that philza has the title of "angel of death" canonically, but he's also only got one life. so it's possible that this is how *most* of the wars he's fought have played out--him, behind the lines, spawning things to do destruction for him)
@@kfiraltberger552 i would argue that he brought the gun but philza fired it? like yes, he *did* do the grinding but for once it wasn't him that decided when/where to place them
@@AzurisSheer well but he did send the signal to signify when philza should start, and also the only reason phil was on wither duty was because techno didnt want him to get hurt himself, so really it was mostly techno's credit
@@kfiraltberger552 Definitely but it was a 3 man job to obliterate it completely. Phil deserves credit for creating distractions so that Techno wouldn't get surrounded, he was struggling pretty hard against Sapnap, more people would be too much for him to handle after all the dogs died.
I think my favorite thing about the song is that each verse reads like a different person singing it. The first is definitly Techno, mad at Tommy's betrayal. The second is Phil scolding him for breaking their trust, and the third is Dream telling him he had this coming. I especially love the line "This is what happens when you turn your back on a freind," because it has such a different meaning coming from all of them.
I was mostly a particle that day, aka watching Ranboo's pov of the event, and it was just so, shaking... Ranboo had been expressing so much grief and worry before the event, even though as an ally of Techno at the time it was very unlikely he'd be targetted. And he wasn't. For me, watching Ranboo's pov of Doomsday was the epitome of "bearing witness" so to speak. The tnt did end up getting him once or twice, but no one targetted him, he wasn't forced into a fight or dragged in by a dialogue with anyone else shouting to him, in fact, it wasn't long before he went dead silent... He didn't speak up during any of the fights or even say much to Techno, Phil, or Dream during the whole thing. He along with a lot of us were just in horror and shock, purely stunned.
See and then Ranboo said we're supposedly not gonna be able to feel bad for his character soon... I just can't believe that based on how brutal following his arc has been
2:34 a whispering voice in your mind could be a reference to technoblade’s chat called voices or the ranboo enderwalking and meeting up with dream and him having a voice of dream 7:07 could be a reference to Phil’s chat known as crows because of origin smp phil known as crow father
its not only from sneeg smp, Phils chat is cannonicaly crows and he send them to the prison so they can fly in the vents and check if Techno is alright
I was just listening to the music again and found some more angle of death could be a reference to Cristian (phils wife) goddes of death according to animagicians Who MADE the revival Book? Theory and hell rainging from the sky is tnt
@@Awesomegamer556 hell from the sky yes. But the angel of death is canonically phil. And it signifies the fact that he was not fully in the battle but helping fron afar. Since techno told him to not risk his life. Edit:an angel of death standing above you also means u will die so yeah. It signified the end of the nation in the song.
As a full-time voice, I can say that even tho I adored L'Manberg, I cherished the destruction of it more. I am sometimes a crow sometimes a particle and many other things. But Technoblades chat has mostly just one thought when it comes to fights. And I was no exception, Blood for the Blood God.
I'm unofficially particle 5595 that floats around Ranboo's heart, one of the crows that is now babysitting Rosie from the murderous crows, and one of the voices telling Techno not to kill dream. Also Phil has been doing some amazing terraforming in L'Manhole and it's looking amazing he finished it up on stream today.
Hey particle#4201 here I float around his ear whispering compliments in his ear. Also a dragonfly in tubbo's pond who goes around socializing causing chaos and having fun.
I do really wish you'd react to more of Derivakat's songs, such as FIREBORN, win it all, really great songs. I love watching your reactions to songs, you're just wise with the reactions and I like to hear your wisdom.
Thank you! I really want to do more music, I just keep trying to figure out like what direction to go for the channel and it's tough bc I have tons of ideas and only so much time
As someone in Techno's Chat. This is what I wanted. Blood for the Blood God. As a someone who has been a Crow. I wanted the anarchy. And if Dream was Streaming. You bet your hide folks would of been :). And that is not getting to it needed to burn. Of course this is just my view of it. And others have different thoughts.
Which Dream SMP song has been your favorite so far? Thanks for checking out the channel and making sure you're subscribed and all that good stuff. Have an AWESOME day!
7:17 iirc Phil's chat was pretty much on his side for the most part (you can check the vod in his Twitch archives to see for yourself, I might be wrong). So yes, the crows were in fact calling for disaster.
@@YoBGS honestly, that's not really true either. This is the same chat that asks Phil if it's true that he, uh, "bumped into" a Samsung Smart Fridge to have Wilbur canonically, and the same chat that donates with text-to-speech telling him about their traumatic childhoods.
This might be my new favorite song by her. I didn’t like it at first, but it grew on me so much!! Also, the crows were very much calling for destruction *sheepishly stares at ground* “Death for the death god” o7
Funny enough, I don't know about other crows, but I was one of the ones that really wanted chaos and disaster. I just didn't expect- well, THIS amount of disaster xD And what I realized, at least for myself: I usually watch the premieres of Derivakats songs and normally I'm not really "impressed", like i don't feel an extreme wow moment. But then I still find myself listening to it over and over again. All of her songs just fricking grow on me like some weird moss or something xD Same with CG5, Phoenix of the Sea is a banger Well, maybe it's because most of the time while listening for the first time i don't actually understand the lyrics, so this might just be a me problem xD
Most of us wanted to see it fall and your derivakat point I feel a similar way the two that really blew me always were voices and doomsday when I was watching the premiere
@@danielhughes1711 Honestly, I just wanted chaos and destruction, I didn't even care if it would fall or not xD That's probably just the kind of person I am though xD
To me (or how I understood it), Techno was Betrayed by Tommy with emphasis on "I was only the Blade to you!". Philza was betrayed by family. Emphasis on his trust. Imprisoned by his family and when they tansacked his house for Techno's location. Dream was betrayed by his friends. Emphasis on abandonment. When he was spiraling down to a form of madness none of his friend tried to help him other than getting angry and leaving him. "*Turning your back on a friend*" These individuals weren't accepted/they were scorned. So who were you going to turn to when friends and family betray you?
I just absolutely love the emotions this song is able to pull from me! I wasn’t even in the fandom for Doomsday, didn’t join until Tommy’s death in the prison, and this song is able to pull at my emotions.
In the beginning, the three characters leading Doomsday all have what I'd consider sentences describing them An anthem of death sings out a cry- Philza A whispering voice invading your mind- Technoblade You're stuck in the web and caught in your lies- Dream
I'm sorry this is late but I thought I'd add my two cents on some things you mentioned/Derivakat's lyrics. I think you picked up on most things, but I just wanted to expand on some lyrics that I think were really interesting. (This is all /rp and I'm talking about the characters, not the actual creators.) 2:16 - "A look of fear caught in the lightning." This is obviously a reference to Tommy and Tubbo getting struck by lightning, which I think is really clever. It makes me imagine more vividly what the atmosphere of Doomsday must have been like - recently Tubbo revealed that Doomsday actually lasted days, so just imagine Techno fighting on the ground for days on end, everyone exhausted, TNT raining from the sky and lightning striking. It's certainly a powerful image. 2:21 - "Your judgement day is coming once and for all." I actually think this lyric is in reference to Dream, taking it upon himself to act as judge, jury and executioner in a slightly different way than Techno, for example. I'll get into what I think Techno's idea of 'judgement' is later, but for Dream I think this lyric has a more sinister tone - Dream isn't doing this for anyone but himself, and is instead viciously hoping to hurt Tommy and co. It has a sense of finality to it - like Dream has been waiting for this opportunity for months, but also reflecting how there was truly nothing the people of L'Manburg could do at this point. I think Tommy and Tubbo's streams represented this well: the sense of hopelessness as Doomsday commenced, because they truly couldn't stop it, no matter how hard they fought or begged. 2:27 - "An anthem of death sings out a cry, a whispering voice invading your mind, you're stuck in the web and caught in the lie." I think these lines reference Phil, Techno and Dream respectively. Phil has had the moniker "the Angel of Death" since the SMP Earth days, and there's been hints in the lore (and also people have just generally accepted this as a headcanon anyway) that Kristin, Phil's wife, is actually Death. More obviously, the second line is a reference to Techno's Voices, and finally the last line references Dream's extensive and winding manipulation that ultimately helped lead up to Doomsday - if you think about it, the final trigger for Techno agreeing to work with Dream was Tommy betraying him to side with Tubbo instead, who on paper Techno believed to be a tyrant given he wasn't traditionally elected - and he was officially the person who exiled Tommy in the first place. Imagine the punch in the gut that Techno felt when the boy he'd been housing and protecting for weeks (to the extent of lying to Dream and threatening to fight him over Tommy) sided instead with the person who exiled him from his home to be with Dream, who although Techno doesn't know the exact details, he knows something happened in exile that led to Tommy being traumatised and afraid. Of course, Techno didn't know that Tubbo exiling Tommy was because of Dream's threats to build walls around L'Manburg, so not only was Dream manipulating the people of L'Manburg into these events taking place, but Techno inadvertently was caught up in it as well to the point that he was finally prompted to do Doomsday. Obviously he had his own reasons as well but yeah, I thought this was interesting. 2:58 - Just a small thing that, whilst Techno was obviously the person who gathered the Wither skeleton skulls, Phil was actually the person in charge of making the Withers on Doomsday because Techno was tasked to stall time until Dream could set up his TNT machines. It's sort of sweet that the reason Techno entrusted Phil with the Withers is because he didn't want to risk Phil getting hurt and losing his last (and only) life by getting too close to the combat. 3:27 - "No way to remain with all of your lives." I find this interesting because, as far as I remember, no one actually lost a canon life during Doomsday apart from maybe Jack Manifold, who ended up canonically dragging himself out of hell and returning with all three lives lmao. 3:29 - "Is this justice? This is justice." I like to think of these lines from Techno and Phil's perspective. I'll do Phil's first because it's a little easier, but Phil joined the SMP to find that his son was a "terrorist" (Phil's words) and had actually been lying to Phil for months in their letters to each other. This ended with Phil, at the time, putting a lot of the blame for Wilbur's corruption on L'Manburg itself as an entity, and like you mentioned he was still reeling from the loss of his son and trying to find justice for him. Since Doomsday, Phil has somewhat shown regret, in that I don't think he regrets destroying L'Manburg itself but more just the hurt he caused. For Techno, I think this line is a good reference for what his ultimate reason for partaking in Doomsday was, even if Tommy's betrayal was the final trigger: him being an anarchist. Techno wholeheartedly believes that government and institutionalised power corrupts absolutely, and from his perspective we even have proof of that - with Wilbur, who slowly became obsessed with destroying L'Manburg whatever the cost if he could not have it himself (leading to Techno being used as a weapon and for resources - for example, at the Red Festival, this idea that Techno wasn't as close an ally as he had originally thought was cemented when Techno wasn't told about the fact that Wilbur was planning on blowing up L'Manburg that day, regardless of the fact that Techno likely would have died with the explosion), and then later with Tubbo who exiled Tommy, which Techno saw the direct fallout for. We've seen that Techno can be peaceful with governments (i.e. Snowchester, who he investigated out of worry for nukes lol, but didn't act against) but he also seeks to destroy them (i.e. L'Manburg, and to an extent the Eggpire) if he thinks they are a threat to the wider people. Ultimately, Techno wants what he thinks is best for everyone, which is a way to save them from the corruption and opposition of governments that he has experienced himself (again, at the Red Festival, Techno was essentially forced to execute one of his allies, surrounded by the Manburg government and people, and no one stepped in to help him - proving that a) they don't care about individuals like Techno, and b) they're fine with acts like execution; also, there is obviously the case of Techno's own execution, led by Tubbo's cabinet). Techno wants justice and retribution for himself and the people, which I think a lot of people overlook on account of dismissing him as just a 'violent anarchist', for example. 3:33 - "Last defender, no surrender." I think the first part of this line could be referencing the fact that, before Doomsday, a lot of L'Manburg's people and allies either fled (e.g. Ranboo) or switched to fight against L'Manburg (e.g. Niki). In the end, there weren't actually that many people fighting on L'Manburg's side, or at least not as many as Tubbo had hoped. Then, obviously, the noble "no surrender" from Tommy, Tubbo, etc., despite the fact that they were clearly outmatched and just had to witness the destruction wrought by Dream, Techno and Tommy. 4:46 - "Walk through fire and straight into hell." I'd wager this is referencing a certain Mr. Manifold lmao, though it could also be talking about the environment of Doomsday - what being there had to have felt like, with all the TNT and fighting. It had to have taken a lot of courage from people like Tommy and Tubbo who aren't the best PvP-wise but also didn't back down or flee. 7:33 - I find it funny how you mention Doomsday being so thorough, because Phil mentioned recently on stream that he's pretty certain, after everyone had ended stream and whatnot, that Dream stayed on to let the TNT rain for hours because he wanted it all down to bedrock lmao. 7:50 - "An Angel of Death standing on high." I've talked a bit about this already but this is obviously Phil on the sidelines, creating the Withers and not engaging in actual fights so Techno doesn't give himself an aneurism trying to protect him lol. 7:54 - "A warrior beneath on the enemy lines." This is then Techno, fighting probably around a dozen people at once to buy Dream enough time to set up the TNT machines.
Hey there! I'm Voice #32,786 Crow #4,643 and Particle #32 but as I mainly live to scream at Techno to kill people and to protect Phil from baby zombies, I can say that I myself loved the way Doomsday went and it was needed in my own Voicely opinion!
Lmao as a full-time particle, part-time voice, occasional crow, and a lot of other things, its complicated See, Techno Chat will be screaming for blood and destruction, Crows are kind of a mix, but they're such chaotic disaster birds that I wouldn't be surprised if they want it, most of them just kinda wanna fight everything and everyone, and the Particles are probably all having a multitude of mental breakdowns for a million different reasons, its just hard to tell through the mess of it all tbh Anyways, Particle #1729

voice & occasional crow here - we live for emotion. and our ccs are very much about destruction - so we just hype up whatever makes them excited! also I know many voices consider doomsday a comfort watch; it has wonderful chemistry moments for Dre&Techno&Phil and the closure of L'Manburg being reduced to bedrock is quite cathartic for many of us, especially once so many show how little they care for the remnants of the nation.
I’m a particle, voice, and crow - can confirm both crows and voices were calling for destruction and the particles were either telling ranboo to join techno, fight techno, or run.
Crow flying in: we were calling for an end to L'Manburg ever since Dadza's house arrest and Techno's failed execution. We did love Tommy and were saddened when he threw his lot back in with Tubbo, but we weren't angry or upset that L'Manburg was getting destroyed, only that Dream was involved at all. We hated Dream for what he did to Tommy and how he helped to twist Wilbur apart, we saw Dream as the reason Tommy left at all, but Dadza and Techno saw him as useful and wouldn't listen to us, so we couldn't do anything about him at that point.
So at the beginning you mention the lead in instrumentals, and the siren and ticking. The ticking is the same as two observers facing each other and alternating pulses. Which is what Dream used to duplicate the TNT and cause it to rain down. That tick is the sound that signaled L'Manburg's destruction.
i’m pretty sure the crows and voices wanted destruction (i watched techno and phil’s vods before and the chat was wild. i think the only time the crows felt bad was when ghostbur talked to phil and he was sad/angry)
I find it interesting that the song about Doomsday is essentially a giant cry. It's not a heavy hitting, hard sort of thing. It... doesn't really peak, it's one constant drone of the ticking time bomb and the cry of betrayal and pain. It's hollow and empty and painful and soft. Which is exactly how Doomsday felt after it happened. I remember watching it live and getting swept up in the hounds rushing into battle. I was one of the voices riding the tide of Blood for the Blood God. I was in awe at the chaos, laughing along with the destruction... and then the battle toned down and Tommy and Techno screamed across the crater with the tnt raining from the sky, and Tubbo mindlessly leapt in front of fireworks to defend his friend, and Dream mechanically moved on with what he was doing... and then the emptiness caught up. Ghostbur's pain after the fight, the L'manburg fighters outright abandoning the battle, Techno continuing to pick fights in the ruins... Looking back at it all, it feels empty. We think of Doomsday as this big, bombastic battle, but it was really something far, far more subtle. We watched L'manburg be destroyed by the loudness of the falling tnt, but the real conflict was... it wasn't the explosions or the fireworks or the hounds or the withers. The real conflict was the rift torn between friends, the betrayal of a father as he destroyed the sickness his son created, the manipulation and ultimate victory of a man descended into madness. The Doomsday trio were not the heroes of that story. We watched the villains win, and we reveled in it, and we didn't realize what we'd lost until it was far, far too late to put the pieces back together. When Derivakat first released Doomsday, I was disappointed. The song wasn't nearly as bombastic and excited as some of the other songs she's made, it felt blank and hollow and exactly like Doomsday feels to look back on. It's brilliant storytelling through the music, and I have so much respect for how she handled the track. It would have been so incredibly easy to have the song be a heavy metal, hard rock, victorious anthem about the destruction and victory the Trio got that day, but... it isn't. It's subtle and tense and perfectly captures the unease that Doomsday carries once you manage to not get swept up in the chaos. Aaaand that comment got really long lol. I hope you don't mind.
Just pointing a little bit "A countdown to revolution Thrown to the wolves (Techno) And watch your hope dissolve The crows are calling for disaster (Phil) A twisted happy ever after to behold (Dream)" The Techno and Phil are easy to catch, Dream you need to remember his final goal "one big family living happy" but how his method is twisted (and look, I'm a c!Dream apologist lol) Also I'm particle #18081, and during Doomsday I was a voice demanding Blood for the Blood God as always. I was expecting the destruction to be bigger than the last one (Wilbur's), as c!Techno had so much Withers and c!Dream have so many resources and skill to bring a Nightmare into reality if he puts the effort. But I didn't expect exactly how it played, complete massacre, with no chance to fight and defend New L'Manburg (I only saw c!Niki sabotaging the defenses gears some weeks later, watching some VODs and Highlights to catch up).
I'm pretty sure that it is sung by all 3s pov at different parts if not all 3 then at least techno and dreams. Someone else who isn't lazy go and put timestamps as to where you think whos pov is cause imma go sleep
Really late comment, but I think you’d love either Techno or Phil’s POV of Doomsday. Particularly Phil, who has an awesome ‘historian’ kinda POV, hanging back, causing some chaos and watching Dream and Techno with a satisfied smile on his face.
I love your reactions and i still can't get over all the pokemon cards in the background 🥺. Also I'd like to recommend Kroh, they have 5 Dream SMP songs and they are AMAZING and extremely Underrated! I feel like you would really like their songs! There is: •Home •Hush (This song is my favourite and is about the Syndicate) •Typical Me (This one is a Ranboo theme) •Twelve •Red Masterpiece (This is a Technoblade theme)
There is no better trio in the dream smp. Dream is the psychotic manipulator, technoblade is the power hungry mastermind, and Phil is the lost but helpful soul who keeps everyone on the right track to see their goals
Syndicate and turn back time hopefully when revived comes out it will be my favourite ❤️ also the crows are coming for disaster caw caw I didn't want doomsday to happen but we love dadza
I am a particle (#18691 reporting!) and a crow (one of the ones that maybe possibly want to adopt everything - caw caw, Rosie is bae) and iirc the murder (of crows) was pretty split between bloodlust and disquiet. I remember the Voices getting the Murder all riled up but it's always hard to see beautiful things reduced to nothing.
Idk if you picked up on it (And this is probably really obvious since they're standing in front of the massive explosion going on) but when you pointed out the withers and details in the art, the bright blocks in the background is the TNT falling, you can see they're falling from the corners of the grids, where Dream placed the dispensers
I watched Doomsday live. I was a voice. My partner calls me insane when I say that I cheered as the first withers were spawned, and when the TNT started raining from the sky. Blood for the blood god.
I strongly suggest another artist called Kroh, who also does dream smp fan songs. He's way smaller then Dervikat, but he's really really good, and has got some great songs, with "Home" (about Tubbo and Ranboo) and "Typical Me" (about Ranboo) being my personal favourites. I really recommend him!
7:32 no I will say many people on techno and Phil’s side were cheering during doomsday, L’manburg had brought nothing but pain and to be honest L’manburg died a long time before doomsday, this was just the final nail in its coffin.
i am a voice and was in technos chat that day. i APSOLUTELY wanted doomsday. tbh l'manburg started from twisted roots and its only gotten worse, as much as the characters tried to fix things. sure, i saluted, sure i was a bit sad, but it was for the best.
Nobody really talk about the art tho, it's so good. Techno, Phil and Dream looks so beautiful in the art omg- Anyway, It's day 45 asking Yobgs to watch Hermitcraft season 8( pls stop telling me that they can't, i know. I'm just doing it for fun from now on lol). Appreciate y'all, have a great day :D
there is a song that is absolutely awesome from amanda fagan for doomsday that came out way before this that was just from the perspective of technoblade and you need to check it out and a lot of amanda fagan songs if i had two pick three for a video it would be promises you didnt keep ruet the day witch is the one i said about techno and monsters witch is a realy good one for ranboo. i cant say this enogh it would mean A LOT if you watched these for a video
I don’t know if you know this, but tommy has released two lore stream videos on his channel, Tommy Vods. Two of them center around tommy in Las Nevada’s. They are called, Tommy visits Las Nevada’s and Tommy is on the brink of war. Just letting you know. Also Charlie has second channel called slmccl and he has released 3 dream smp lore videos on there.
Techno and Phil have been sharing good chunk of their audience for awhile (Minecraft Monday and SMP Earth) and Phil is himself a pretty chaotic person so yeah a lot of the crows were calling for total chaos me included even tho I'm a voice first, crow second. (I would be a particle as a fan of Ranboo but I can't stand a good chunk of his chat lmao also I hate the particle number thing because it was just a copy of what us Techno's audience were doing on Twitter with our "Public Enemy" number which they stole and it wouldnt be a problem if most of Ranboo's twitter fanbase didnt constantly harass us for being Techno fans or made fun of us for the number thing while taking that idea for themselves months later- but heh that's old beef)
Hey, not a crow but a proud voice. I can confirm that we wanted nothing more than chaos and complete destruction.
I mean that's basically just our whole charector.
Voice #32,786 here, and I can confirm this
As a voice I can confirm that I wanted this destruction
Idk why he thinks that the majority of voices and crows weren't completely onboard with it
Yeah it’s weird how yobgs thinks we didn’t want L’manberg fall or chaos when we saw how terrible L’manberg was
I havnt seen anyone mention this but the lines
"An angel of death standing on high"
"A warrior beneath in enemy lines"
These are representing phil and techno during doomsday.
In addition the line before "Watching as hell rains from the sky" references dream's part in doomsday.
Yessss that's such a good call. Like it's so tough to both be feeling the song and trying to spot the references all in the first listen through
i always thought “a warrior beneath in enemy lines” was about ranboo bc it said after that “you were once trusted” and ranboo technically went into enemy lines with Techno to converse with him and he was once trusted, as Tubbo said he was the perfect example of loyalty

"A look of fear caught in the lightning"
"Tommyinnit was struck by lightning" XD
"So long Theseus" xD
I was just sitting and then I hear techno say that and I’m laughing
But wasn't that part like not planned. Either way that's awesome for you to catch the reference!
@@YoBGS It wasn't planned, but obviously that doesn't mean it can't be referenced.
it is interesting that you credit techno with the withers--in the actual vods, philza is the one that spawned the most of them (which has interesting implications when you consider that philza has the title of "angel of death" canonically, but he's also only got one life. so it's possible that this is how *most* of the wars he's fought have played out--him, behind the lines, spawning things to do destruction for him)
But technoblade did get like 2 stacks of wither skeletons so he probably should get the credit for them existing
@@anitaremenarova6662 sure it was a three man job but the withers are credited to techno, thats the conversation
I just can't believe that based on how brutal following his arc has been
2:34 a whispering voice in your mind could be a reference to technoblade’s chat called voices or the ranboo enderwalking and meeting up with dream and him having a voice of dream
7:07 could be a reference to Phil’s chat known as crows because of origin smp phil known as crow father
its not only from sneeg smp, Phils chat is cannonicaly crows and he send them to the prison so they can fly in the vents and check if Techno is alright
As I said could be a reference to phil’s chat known as crows and explained why lol
I knew the crows because they frequently raid my stream, that's a good call on the "voice" line though

As a crow and a voice I absolutely loved watching them destroy lmanburg. I really wanted chaos.

So I'm not the only one who calls it L'Manhole. Well, that's pretty neat.
I do really wish you'd react to more of Derivakat's songs, such as FIREBORN, win it all, really great songs.

Saaame! I think it's because of just how many things have happened since

"*Turning your back on a friend*"
These individuals weren't accepted/they were scorned. So who were you going to turn to when friends and family betray you?
I just absolutely love the emotions this song is able to pull from me! I wasn’t even in the fandom for Doomsday, didn’t join until Tommy’s death in the prison, and this song is able to pull at my emotions.
Derivakat does an incredible job of getting at like the raw emotions that the SMP went for in the original episodes, it's awesome
In the beginning, the three characters leading Doomsday all have what I'd consider sentences describing them
An anthem of death sings out a cry- Philza
A whispering voice invading your mind- Technoblade
You're stuck in the web and caught in your lies- Dream
"This really is the Technoblade and TommyInnit break up song"
I can't tell you how badly I bursted out laughing at that
Philza's sword is in a way that it looks like a cross being put at a tomb
I'm sorry this is late but I thought I'd add my two cents on some things you mentioned/Derivakat's lyrics. I think you picked up on most things, but I just wanted to expand on some lyrics that I think were really interesting.
(This is all /rp and I'm talking about the characters, not the actual creators.)
2:16 - "A look of fear caught in the lightning." This is obviously a reference to Tommy and Tubbo getting struck by lightning, which I think is really clever.
I love that she interpreted the POV’s of Philza, Techno and Dream in this song ^^ if ya listen carfully, ya can tell which verse goes to whom ^^
Lmao as a full-time particle, part-time voice, occasional crow, and a lot of other things, its complicated
See, Techno Chat will be screaming for blood and destruction, Crows are kind of a mix, but they're such chaotic disaster birds that I wouldn't be surprised if they want it, most of them just kinda wanna fight everything and everyone, and the Particles are probably all having a multitude of mental breakdowns for a million different reasons, its just hard to tell through the mess of it all tbh
Anyways, Particle #1729

Bastion of sanctuary
This is the day that everything will fall
A look of fear caught in the lightning
Your judgement day is coming once and for all
An anthem of death sings out a cry
A whispering voice invading your mind
You’re stuck in the web and caught in the lie
All corrupted, so corrupted
Uncertain fate and doubt in your eyes
Can you escape, who will survive
No way to remain with all of your lives
Is this justice? This is justice
Last defender, no surrender
Raise your shield and cry for help
But no one is coming, no, no one is coming
Walk through fire and straight into hell
Your doomsday is calling, your doomsday is calling
Betrayal breeds revenge
You sought out your own end
This is what happens when you turn your back on a friend
Waste your last amends
You’ve spent your life condemned
Condemned to your cursed doomsday
A countdown to revolution
Thrown to the wolves and watch your hope dissolve
The crows are calling for disaster
A twisted happy-ever-after to behold
Watching as hell rains from the skies
An angel of death standing on high
A warrior beneath in the enemy lines
You were once trusted, once trusted
You’re all out of luck and all out of time
With nowhere to run and nowhere to hide
So lift up your head and face your demise
Is this justice? This is justice
Last defender, no surrender
Raise your shield and cry for help
But no one is coming, no, no one is coming
Walk through fire and straight into hell
Your doomsday is calling, your doomsday is calling
Betrayal breeds revenge
You sought out your own end
This is what happens when you turn your back on a friend
Waste your last amends
You’ve spent your life condemned
Condemned to your cursed doomsday

voice & occasional crow here - we live for emotion. and our ccs are very much about destruction - so we just hype up whatever makes them excited!
also I know many voices consider doomsday a comfort watch; it has wonderful chemistry moments for Dre&Techno&Phil and the closure of L'Manburg being reduced to bedrock is quite cathartic for many of us, especially once so many show how little they care for the remnants of the nation.
Derivakat can tell a story in her songs and that's scary good
I’m a particle, voice, and crow - can confirm both crows and voices were calling for destruction and the particles were either telling ranboo to join techno, fight techno, or run.
You hyped for the new sadist animatic she teased its about the disc war final confrontation
I watched Technoblade's stream. I was calling for destruction and chaos
I was; I was happy to see L'manburg gone for good. Also, I'm glad you did this; I've been waiting for you to react since this dropped.
This is alltime favorite song ever, I listen to it every day and night

"the look of a disappointed father omg that is all too familiar"
i can tell you i wheezed
I don't know about the crows but me and my fellow voices definitely wanted destruction. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
i’m pretty sure the crows and voices wanted destruction (i watched techno and phil’s vods before and the chat was wild. i think the only time the crows felt bad was when ghostbur talked to phil and he was sad/angry)
even i would feel bad :(
I find it interesting that the song about Doomsday is essentially a giant cry.
Just pointing a little bit
"A countdown to revolution
Thrown to the wolves (Techno)
And watch your hope dissolve
The crows are calling for disaster (Phil)
A twisted happy ever after to behold (Dream)"
The Techno and Phil are easy to catch, Dream you need to remember his final goal "one big family living happy" but how his method is twisted (and look, I'm a c!Dream apologist lol)
Also I'm particle #18081, and during Doomsday I was a voice demanding Blood for the Blood God as always.
Hey, a crow and a voice here.
Doomsday was exactly what we wanted. Blood for the blood god.

•Twelve
•Red Masterpiece (This is a Technoblade theme)
There is no better trio in the dream smp. Dream is the psychotic manipulator, technoblade is the power hungry mastermind, and Phil is the lost but helpful soul who keeps everyone on the right track to see their goals
i wouldn't say techno is power hungry but i agree with phil and dream
i’m a crow, a voice, and particle 4379 . we wanted this.
Syndicate and turn back time hopefully when revived comes out it will be my favourite ❤️ also the crows are coming for disaster caw caw I didn't want doomsday to happen but we love dadza
I am a crow and I can confirm that most of us were wanting chaos but at the same time we were O7'ing
"I feel like nobody wanted this"
me, a crow, who wanted it: *dont be suspicious, don't be suspicious*
you are not alone
I mean idk bout the other two but the voices in techno's head where calling for blood the whole time 😂
"... and Philza with the look of a disappointed father, omg that looks all to familiar" - YoBGS 2021
3:11
Idk if you picked up on it (And this is probably really obvious since they're standing in front of the massive explosion going on) but when you pointed out the withers and details in the art, the bright blocks in the background is the TNT falling, you can see they're falling from the corners of the grids, where Dream placed the dispensers
I watched Doomsday live. I was a voice.
My partner calls me insane when I say that I cheered as the first withers were spawned, and when the TNT started raining from the sky.
Blood for the blood god.
LOL BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
Angel of death: Ph1lza
Warrior once trusted: Technoblade
Yeah, the voices were kinda screaming for blood, and I'm pretty sure the crows wanted vengenace for Wilbur
very POG and i really love dream smp song!!! i hope you react to more videos from or based on the dreams smp!!! take care and stay safe!
Philza'z wings make him look like a fallen angel
well the fandom gave him the name angel of death sooooo
i am a voice and was in technos chat that day. i APSOLUTELY wanted doomsday. tbh l'manburg started from twisted roots and its only gotten worse, as much as the characters tried to fix things. sure, i saluted, sure i was a bit sad, but it was for the best.
Nobody really talk about the art tho, it's so good. Techno, Phil and Dream looks so beautiful in the art omg-
Anyway, It's day 45 asking Yobgs to watch Hermitcraft season 8( pls stop telling me that they can't, i know. I'm just doing it for fun from now on lol). Appreciate y'all, have a great day :D
Voice 1000 enjoyed every second of doomsday
there is a song that is absolutely awesome from amanda fagan for doomsday that came out way before this that was just from the perspective of technoblade and you need to check it out and a lot of amanda fagan songs if i had two pick three for a video it would be promises you didnt keep ruet the day witch is the one i said about techno and monsters witch is a realy good one for ranboo. i cant say this enogh it would mean A LOT if you watched these for a video
I support doomsday! Hahaha I do believe the crows wanted justice, same with the voices in Technoblade’ same mind!
As a crow yes i personally crave chaos
Reacting to Derivakat's latest masterpiece, again
I don’t know if you know this, but tommy has released two lore stream videos on his channel, Tommy Vods. Two of them center around tommy in Las Nevada’s. They are called, Tommy visits Las Nevada’s and Tommy is on the brink of war. Just letting you know. Also Charlie has second channel called slmccl and he has released 3 dream smp lore videos on there.
i am a voice and i wanted this chaos and destruction!!!😂😂
This part sounds a little like panic room.
You should watch craftingmation's animation for this song I love it
I am a crow and a voice hehehe I was in complete chaos vote hehehe!!! DEATH!!!! I'm particle 666 😂
I was pissed tommy's death in doomsday wasn't canon I wanted him gone from day one honestly
Yobgs i like to think the first verse was techno and chorus is Phil and second verse is dream if u listen it makes since
Techno and Phil have been sharing good chunk of their audience for awhile (Minecraft Monday and SMP Earth) and Phil is himself a pretty chaotic person so yeah a lot of the crows were calling for total chaos me included even tho I'm a voice first, crow second.
'the face of a disappointed father'
'that seems familiar'
... Do you need to talk about something my man?
The crows are Philza
