- Here is an insight into the 700km Lagos-Calabar Highway being constructed by Hitech Construction Company.
The road will run from Lagos through Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and terminate in Calabar Cross River State.
So far 100km out of 700km has been constructed with street lights.

I can see it’s a concrete highway, which makes it very durable and zero maintenance! 👍 Kudos from Kenya 🇰🇪
Welldone, you are the first youtubers or media to bring us up close and personal with this project.Shouldn't Nigerian media houses be here,at the site of such project, probably the biggest in the history of Nigeria? Those journalists are the biggest problem in Nigeria, lazy and corrupt to the bone. The train section only starts from jakande not ahmadu bello way. From Ahmadu bello to jakande is 50meters right of way, then it becomes 100 from jakande to include the train tracks. And l dont think that is a gas pipeline, are usually bigger thsn that or in multiple pipes if smaller.l think that pipe is for dredging sand from the depth of the sea to where they want to sand fill...l really hope federal government complete this project to calabar, not just a project for lagos state,it will really transform Nigeria's economy.Welldone mate and thank you.
Another section is starting from Calabar in July. There will be six sections being built concurrently along the coast.

A laudable project by a visionary President Tinubu
the rail track will start from jakande because they don't want to affect the landmark Beach so the move the rail to start from jakande area.
This is really impressive. The government is really trying.
I like what im seeing. This project might turn out to be the biggest in decades.
Thanks for watching
Well done. I am not seeing the rail tracks. When will that construction begin.
Where is the train line that they said runs along side with it?
The road is a complete good idea and no question about that. But my take is this. End of Ondo state running from Rivers state to Calabar are primarily Creeks, mangroves and swamps, it will be near impossible to build a normal roads without running bridges like 3rd mainland bridges for infinite kilometers. This is exactly were the road will stop because the construction there will be mind boggling and 700 times more expensive. I wonder why they did not start this road first from Calabar and proceed to Lagos end as to test this project.
This is actually the first time they i'm hearing this perspective. I'll study the map again.
Do you think the road will not have bridges before?
Bridges, culverts and massive sand filling are part of the scope of work. Boulders, sand filling, stone base and finally reinforced concrete are obviously the stages of construction. It's these processes that gave the average cost of 4 billion per km.
Let this project not start and end in the Lagos axis o. That is where the problem is envisaged.
I wonder why you think David Umahi as a reputable engineer and a patriot would build a 700km road without bridges. Even my illiterate grandma wouldn't do that talkless of the minister.
Is this the road they promise us awon oloriburuku
Pele asiwere! Enemies of progress.
Why curse
Were ni e.
What about Abia state you are not showing us about the development
I will be in Abia state, specifically in Aba very soon. A lot is going on there I know.
It is 1 km length that's completed not 100km that you mentioned.
This road is going to be put to use as soon as a sizable section is complete.
I noticed that even though about 1km as een completed. They're yet to connect it to the existing Ahmadu bello way. Thy might be intentional to not allow vehicular traffic on it fena while.
@@AfamOrji Alot of junction improvement and creative design would be needed to prevent traffic build up at the T junction.
Where is the rail track provision? Can’t see any in the video @AfamOrji
The railway will start from Jakande and it will be in the middle of road like I said in the video.
Where is the provision for the rail tracks that suppose to come along with it?
The railway starts at Jakande and not in Victoria Island.
Looks good but what becomes of the security of the lives that ply roads? Just thinking aloud.
Dem never finish the road now. Westin be your problem.
your retired security/gateman daddy will be forced to come out of his retirement to work as a security man on the road.
Long life Mr president for this laudable project I believe that Nigeria 🇳🇬 our dear Country will be great again we stand by you only people without vision will not be happy with this you are indeed a visionary leader thank you my president almighty Allah will perfect all that concern you president BAT
What effects does the bridge have on our economy? So many federal roads are left without maintenance.. People are hungry and suffering. Pls who does this bridge help.. Priority is key to success.. God help our Government to do the right thing at the right in Jesus name.
Nigerian should think ahead where is the train line route along the road this should be part of the plan. That is what I called forward thinking
Do you mean the road lead to Calabar or how?
Yes, it starts from Lagos and ends in Calabar.
where is the Railway?
Is the highyway completely done?
No not yet. Only 1 kilometer has been doneso far.
Of course not …. They are busy destroying everything in the way such as beached , businesses etc ….
This minister is really trying am obedient but i support this minister nigeria also need 24/7 electricity it's very important so that many investors can come to nigeria because if nigeria have 24/7 light good road network good security nigeria will full with investors within 24/7 our airport will full with foreigners
The minister is definitely one of the best person ministers so far. Thanks ge watching.
The private sector is already handling electricity issues. Siemens is building our electric power grid from 4,000MW to 24,000MW capacity in four years. The future is bright. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria ❤️🇳🇬.
Where is the rail corridor, the road suppose to have a rail corridor as they said, they should also try and put road signs, Nigerian roads lack road signs in this 21st century road signs are parts of navigational instrument
Road signs come in later. The rail would start from Jakande area of Lekki and not from Victoria Island. It will have a provision in the middle but construction won't run concurrently with this road.
Road signs come in later. The rail would start from Jakande area of Lekki and not from Victoria Island. It will have a provision in the middle but construction won't run concurrently with this road cos the modalities are still being worked on.
What is the cost of this project?
15trillion in 8 years completion
So this is the starting points then this projects its not just today ideal
The idea has been since over 10 years ago but BAT just want to starts it now .
Mr afam please how true is this in just view months of Mr president one kilometer as already completed I don't believe it that's my opinion sorry to say when completed in 7 years then I we give kudos to Mr president and the minister God bless federal republic of Nigeria and God bless you all thanks
Invading forces would only connect the coaster road from the sea and take over adjourning cities. Pls kindly equip the navy with enough attack ship, missiles destroyers, Corvette, patrol ship and drones for round the clock maritime security
When hitech start from Calabar to Akwa ibom and river state that is when hitech will start work
Another contractor is starting from Calabar in July.
It's a good but don't trust a party that has a lot of heavy thieves in the house .If Lagos light rail could take 24yrs to finish, thi this may take 35 yrs. Every 4yrs they use it as campaign tool. It's jagaban style .But the part that covers his properties in Lagos will finish before his 4yrs tenure while others will remain as a campaign tool for the next 30 or more yes. Watch and see
Won ri nkan dada so ri. Oponu ayeraye. When it's your governors you become a prophet and start prophesying on projects that are still on the drawing board. Your hate go consume you.
Can we just have positive mindset for just once God
No sit-at-home along that route? Lol I don't know why my mind is like this. Everytime conspiracy theories. Lol

Then where’s the train 🚊 tracks?
It will start From jakande
Scam were is the train track
Ode!
Future abandoned project.they should reach sangotedo shaa
You just described your destiny.
Leaders who came up with this idea never thought of the security risk involve in this project. They have so made it easy to invade and capture Lagos and other key facilities of the nation.
Part of the reason why the nation's capital was relocated to the central was for security. Invading forces would have to traversed the entire length of the country to defeat us. However, when Lagos , port Harcourt, calabar and Delta is captured what life line do you have. Abuja will fall like a park of cards. Our navy had better been fortified 😂😂😂
Remain stagnant there,MUMU,dey keep money,no spend am for you benefit
The road didn't wide enough
It will be widened after landmark beach
Tinubu is replicating the approach of northern Nigerians by utilising our resources to develop Lagos. Nevertheless, this project appears doomed from the start and is unlikely to progress beyond Ogun state. Instead of pursuing this venture, funds should be directed towards the neglected east-west road. If Tinubu truly had the South's best interests at heart, this would have been a more appropriate allocation of resources.
Thanks for watching.
LAGOS , Ogun, Ondo down to Calabar Are not in the south’s ?
End of Ondo state running from Rivers state to Calabar are primarily Creeks, mangroves and swamps, it will be near impossible to build a normal without running bridges like 3rd mainland bridges for infinite kilometers. This is exactly were the road will stop.
See another Ojukwu and Agu Ironsi child of the hate here,I don't think good things has ever happened in you family,so Lagos is the only state that needs to be developed in Nigeria, you too mumu umuokoko
They government should have given this road project to the Chinese. I don't like the look of the road done so far. Everywhere like developing country's road. Go and see Chinese highways. We should be building like those.
While I understand your sentiment, I'm not sure if this is how the road will look when finished.
How will local contractors develop, if you give everything to the Chinese. Incase you don't remember we just started giving projects to the Chinese only recently, Nobody trusted them before then.
Colonial mentality is still inherent in some Nigerians. Why would someone say the work done so far doesn't look like the one by the Chinese. How do we grow our economy, and how do we promote our indigenous engineers.
The road is still under construction, this is not how it final look will be.
@@alabaalex-duduyemi3630 But, these aren't indigenous construction companies. HITECH(which is Arab construction company) is in charge of this particular section.
You are deceiving yourself bro, the project is not yet started. It has just got the approval. The road you show is just the dual carriage of eko Atlantic City that link to lekki-Epe Express. Lagos - Calabba coastal road is a dua carriage of five lanes in each side with train tracks.
Last last the zoo politicians will abandoned the projects as always 😡
That's why the entire Southeast is like red dirty dust. May all the projects in the Southeast and your life be abandoned. Asiere!
Of course , anyone who believe this road will get to calabar is either sycophantic or just plain delusional or both .
This is just a lagos coastal highway , which in itself is not entirely bad
Just like your house is abandoned, OZOUR Promax.
@@vitalifoma9189you are a simpleton, just as empty as your comment.
Let me ask...what happens if its completed....what joy will you gain if they don't complete it. Help me understand. Just making senseless comments up and down
We are quick to be blinded by one man's deception. BAT does not care about you or the country. He is only about his personal ambitions.
If some of you had travelled out of Lagos in the last w year, you will agree with me that the coastal road can be constructed without neglecting other roads in the country. The original coastal road was a baby of NDDC, and the moribond Eko Atlantic coaster road which the Lagos state government could not construct due to high cost is not been fast-tracked as a federal project.
It is not a hidden secret that the Eko Atlantic is a baby of BAT and some of his questionable wealth are stocking in that project. He is trying to recover by all means necessary and Nigerians will have to pay for it.
That project is not designed to be completed because HighTec does not have $15b to run that project. This is another scam. We will only see the Lagos section completed in the next 8yrs and nothing more.
Ojukwu and Agu Ironsi blood runs in your veins ,we never expected anything less from the child of the hate like you ,no wonder the AFGAEASTERN zone is not developed BCOS all you people do and say his ""they are come to steal own land"" but you can establish in another man's land ABI?
