Sencillamente, "UN GENIO ÚNICO" , su música es intemporal. Me ha dado los mejores momentos musicales de mi vida, desde Tubular Bells no ha dejado de sorprenderme. Gracias MIKE OLDFIELD.

It seems not, unfortuntely. The short section released was excellent and I would have liked to have heard more, but it seems no new musc and no tours.
@IfUfindthisURlost Yes, it is a shame, but he has retired, I think it's a health issue. I hope they continue with the deluxe reissues though.

I love his facial expression when he squeezes out that the four Tubular bells notes are ”addictive”. He KNOWS there’s a fourth combination between them. That’s a genious at work. He just HAVE to find it. I would love a TB4. I’ve been listening to his works since I was 8 in 1973.
Sadly he wont. He has announced he retired in 2018. All we will get is an 8 minute snippet of TB 4 in May as part of a Tubular Bells 50th release.

I’m desperate for someone to have watched Mike put an album together, and made it into a documentary type movie. That’s something that should be encouraged by some people , like Robin Smith , who helped arrange live TB2 at Edinburgh castle, and is at present touring 50 th anniversary of Tubular Bells. Just a thought 😊
There is a documentary about the making of TB2, it is about 35 minutes long. I don't recall it showing that much of the process though. I would like to see more of the composition and trial methods.

Any news from Mike Oldfield? Any new interviews? What's he up to?
He has stopped making music, and two days ago a press release announced that the 50th anniversary edition of Tubular Bells will include the demo of TB4, which Oldfield abandoned work on back in 2018.
TB4,,still a possibility🤔
The snippet of TB4 which we have heard , had some really interesting sounds/melodies in it .... especially the Part 2 section ..... Even though he has "retired" , maybe his "addiction" might just persuade him to add more to it ..... 🤓
I agree, more than the re-workings on TB2 and TB3, I thought the TB4 clip had something special about it. Would have loved to have had the project finished instead of shelved.

Love the 8:30 demo of TB4. Shows real promise.
I'll never understand why he can never make any album that is anywhere as good as Tubular Bells. Ive listened to that album since it came out, Im 58 now. No album has ever come close to being as well orchestrated as that album. Im now learning to play the music of that album as I am learning to play music in my old age. All the albums Mike made after Tubular Bells sounds like new age crap. Tubular Bells 2 sounds like a cheap commercial version of Tubular Bells. I heard him play the music of that album live in Frankfurt Germany in 93. Just once I wish he could at the very least come up with a good guitar riff.
Tom Newman is his best producer by far. More suited to Mike's work. Trevor Horn is good for polished pop etc.
I'm sure Mike regards Tom as great as Trevor, but for some reason he seems to be upset with him and they don't talk to each other anymore, hence mentioning only Horn, which is truly sad...
A bit ungrateful considering Tom was the guy that believed in him and made it happen.
Totally agree. It seems there was some disagreement between Mike and Tom, but Tom Newman is a unique producer, capable of producing albums like TB, Hergest Ridge, Platinum, Five Miles Out and Amarok. Mike great musician, and great ego.
@@Ian-gw2vxWell, I don’t know. Mike is a very sensitive human being, he might have been hurt by the way Tom parodied him in the BBC documentary I suppose or it could be something Tom said behind Mike's back? We'll probably never know.
