Lemmo playing Stairway is a absolute treat. The dude is for sure not some Joe Schmo off the street butchering the heck out of the song. Outstanding version of Stairway. Lemme has just KILLED it.
Beautiful red finish. Great tone. I own a 1992 Les Paul Studio in Wine Red, Gold Hardware, Ebony fingerboard. One of the best Les Pauls I have ever played.
Thank you father Lemmo and Uncle Lemmo for having the wisdom and foresight to provide Michael a.quality instrument so early in his youth. Your son and nephew is a change maker and influencer of the best kind.
I’m looking at my les Paul studio my dad gave me from 1996, it’s no weight relief, wine red, no dot inlays it’s the trapezoids with a neck so fat I’m amazed I could even play it back in the day also has the kluson tuners. It’s sat next to my 59 les Paul and I couldn’t actually pick the better sounding one, they’re both going to the grave! Studios back then we’re standards without a flamed top… they are different guitars now
I got a 2015 les Paul studio in Manhattan midnight blue as my first Les Paul. I got rid of the auto-tuner and to this day it’s one of my favorite guitars. There’s nothing wrong with a les Paul studio at all. Beat it up, change the pickups, do whatever you want without all the worry you’d have with a standard. Studios are great guitars!
Mine is wine red (darker red with woodgrain) with gold hardware. It's my first Les Paul and I still use it as my main axe. The one Michael plays in the video looks like a Ferrari lol!
I’m always amazed when you can see folks wandering around the shop when he is playing. Pretty sure I would be standing there close by just out of frame.
I have exactly the same guitar year, colour, gold hardware, pearl dots on neck. Outstanding guitar. The colour is Ruby Red and it is beautiful especially with the gold hardware. The colour is very rare. The reason is Gibson had a little Ruby Red paint left over from the 96-98 run of P-90 equipped 'gem' series Les Paul Studio's so used it on a few 98 Les Paul Studio's I have had and have more expensive Les Paul's, however, this one is superb, up there with the top end at a lot less money.
For a 20+ year-old guitar, that is in absolutely amazing condition. It sounds incredible as well. Last year I bought a 2000 Jorma Kaukonen Riviera in an awesome cherry red colour that looked like it had been made last week, and not 20 years ago! How fantastic to score something like that.
Your version of stairway to Heaven was awesome! Just got the new reimagined Gibson les Paul studio in blueberry burst and I love it!!! Plays like a dream!!!
Hey, my first Les Paul was a 1998 studio (black/gold). GREAT guitar, but my ex gave me the stank-eye when I got to 3 Les Pauls, 4 Strats, an Explorer EX-2 a J-Bass, and 6- and 12-string acoustics, so a couple of guitars had to go. (sad sigh) I miss those guitars!
I have a 93 LP Studio Black/Gold Hardware-with P-90s!!! I got it Brand New; it has naturally reliced Nicely! Still plays like Buttah!!!! Sicck Plaiyng, Mike! 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Saw the shirt and I first thought of Junior Walker. Saw him late one night on Letterman. Dude was amazing. I was really young at the time and had no idea who he was or his track record in music. Blew me away. If you look up the back story on Foreigner's 'Urgent', it's pretty cool how he came to do the sax for that song. And on youtube you can find an old 80s live performance where he came on stage with the band. He was incredible.
I have this same Studio! I have always been curious about mine since I've never found another w the same Red finish/dot Inlays and single piece mahogany body. After doing some digging, in 98 they offered the Studio in the "Gem" finishes from the failed 97 Gem Series w P90s. Ebony was the only non-gem finish on 98 Studios, alongside Emerald, Amethyst and the beautiful Ruby👍. My first Les Paul and probably the only guitar I would never trade/sell.
I think that might be a LP SL, or 'sans lacquer,' a poly finish in fender-style automotive paint Gibson did in the late 90s - very glossy and durable. Nice guitar, good for gigging if you want to keep your Standard as new as possible!
Sweet job Mike!!!! Love how you use the looper in all your vids to demonstrate a full sound man!! What reverb are you running I like the dissonance it adds!??
Have an '89 with an ebony fretboard. My favorite guitar and one ive owned tge longest. Had to replace the pickups unfortunately and used 57 classic/57 classic+ to do so. Also upgraded the pots to what they put in the custom shop historic ones. Put some thin gold auto pin stripping tape around the body and pickguard and now its a STUNNER. I own a custom dean v, fender strat, les paul standard Gibson, and a rosewood hummingbird. With the upgrades this guitar looks better....very unique.

Sounds insane, but I just love solid color top Les Pauls.
I miss when the studios had dot inlays. For some reason, I just love the dots on lower end guitars like this. It's one of the reasons I want a Les Paul Special.
