- After weeks of exploring Albania, we're up for a new adventure in North Macedonia. We've got no idea what to expect, and after a little touristy stuff we seek out Mavrovo, one of the country's truly epic national parks... But there's a feeling of change in the air and just like that, it all disappears.

Lucky guys having such a fantastic weather! You missed one of the most beautiful monastery I have ever seen on your way, the Sveti Jovan Bigorski, shortly after entering the Mavrovo NP. Anyway, you can’t see everything! Have a good trip!

There near in those mountains called Bistra, is a village of Galichnik, very fascinating village with massive stone houses build on the most steep mountain area. Is trully stunning village. In my opinion the most beautiful village in Macedonia.
In july every year in that village there's traditional Macedonian wedding and is visited by many visitors from all over the world.

We obviously missed it, but we did get the incredible Autumnal colours, and really enjoyed rural Macedonia in particular, it's somewhere we'll return 🙏☺

We call that type of meal “Blaart”! It’s normally everything we can find left in the fridge, usually with lardons, or smoked sausage, or chorizo. It’s normally used when we haven’t been to the shops for a while or we are heading home.

That little Monastery isn't St. Naum. That's Sveti Jovan Kaneo. (St. John Theologian)
St. Naum is very big Monastery and is on the other side of the lake. They say is the most visited Monastery in Balkan.

I don’t think it’s a scam. They told us €50 for a camping car, it was all to do with the weight of the truck.

Yeah just a great feel good place with clean air and no nonsense, just how we like it.
Eastern Europe is full of those predators, I know it's not a predator but check out the monstrous wild boar in Romania, it needs something to keep their numbers at bay.
