That's how I would have removed that ridge and cleaned up that surface.
That sounds like a great birthday present, I sure hopes she is excited as we are 😉
That's right!
One more great video mate and as always God bless you all.
God Bless you and your family
@@TonysTractorAdventure Glad you said that as we need to put God back in a lot of things. We are seeing what happens in America when we turn from God..... God has surely watched over my life.... God bless you and your family.
God has surely watched over my life.... God bless you and your family as well.... Prayers for your lathe.
This is very interesting. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Glad you enjoyed it!
When I tear a motor or generator/alternator apart, I take a screwdriver and scratch a line across the main housing and both end plates so when reassembling you line up these scratches.
definitely a good idea, but this motor is different than a other. One end will only go one way, an the other end doesn't really matter. Still it is a good practice.
Very interesting Tony!
Thank you. One step at a time!
Great job Tony!!
Thank you so much!!
Awesome stuff, as always, guys Tony needs a metal lathe 😎 grate job on resurfacing the old motor with the tools o hand
Thank you. I was pleased at how it turned out!
Tony needs a metal lathe! (Sends subliminal message) 😅 Great work, Tony! I hope you get years and years more use out of it. As a bonus, i might add a speedometer, just for fun...lol.
I plan on doing some big upgrades this year. I am going to get it solid, then add new Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. I may lift it after that!
With my memory, I take pictures on how I took it apart just in case I forget or need to show someone for advise. Save my bacon in wiring a 89 EZGO before I found the right video on it.
How funny!, I was out in the garage prepping lithium iron phosphate battery change for my golf cart. I'm taking pictures everywhere.
I have an extra 48v CC that came on my 2010 Precedent. I switched mine over to a Silver Wolf 12000w AC motor and controller and a 48v 105ah lithium battery. It ran 14 mph before with the factory stuff and now it runs 34-35 mph. I don't need the factory motor and controller anymore but it looks like you're rolling again.
I am going to upgrade along the way.it should be fun.👍
2 wooden V blocks clamped to the table...
Sit that armature on em and spin with drill
You can carefully cut a new face on that commutator freehand with a wood chisel...
Always clean between the segments afterwards...
Good video
☹️🇬🇧🏴
Great advice. Thank you.
3m green scrubbing pads, for the commuter.
That's a good call. It would have polished it up.
@@TonysTractorAdventure You have to be careful with them though, they will also remove paint, scratch glass....
As an afterthought I may have lubed it with a little of my favorite Spray lubricant(no tm), first.
I am accepting sponsorship offers from spray lubicrant manufacturers! ROTFL!
Commutator guys lol not a commuter
❤
You need a bigger lathe, Tony. Thank you for your videos.
Thank you for your support! 🤣🤣🤣
Tonya needs a lathe!
That's Right!
At least I know I’m not alone lol
Liked your video , but I got to correct your pronunciation a commuter rides to work , a commutator is on the end of the armature where the winding ends are soldered to the bars .
I'm glad you got that off your chest. 🤣
Where is Tony's Lathe? He has almost everything else......
I moved my little lathe to the heated basement. I have to heat the little shop with propane. I want a bigger one. LOL!
When is part 4 going to be uploaded?
I just finished the filming. I will edit it soon.
@@TonysTractorAdventure awesome can’t wait.
MS TONJA, MR TONY NEED A BIGGER LATHE. WOULD HAVE HELPED WITH THIS PROJECT.
MR TONY, SCREW THE KEYBOARD NINJAS. YOU KEEP ON KEEPING ON, THEY'LL BE JUST FINE.
