- Given the random nature of this game it's always a possibility that your experience could vary from my own, don't hesitate to ask any questions about certain trophies if you need any assistance, I'm always happy to help!
Stranded Deep is a survival game with horror elements (if you're afraid of the sea like me!) but with this guide I hope I'll be able to calm some nerves given the tactics to defeat all the bosses without taking any damage at all!
It's a tricky game and it might take you a while to finish, but I believe in you ♥

1) Recommend placing campfire where you can get shade (watch SPF="none") and close to a couple or more of coconut trees so you can sit there as food is cooking during day time without SPF damage and sit there at night and use spears at the bats that land on the trees. Easy meat and cooking and hunting XP.
2) starter island with multiple potatoes may help with the no fish, no meat challenge. Additionally, if you have to go elsewhere, cliff island have eggs that does not count towards meat and fish.
3) on ps4 2/10 rule (mentioned in other tutorials like Overclock) 2 while coconuts (drink) and 2 coconut halves (eat) every 10 in game minutes (10 RT seconds) will avoid the runs. Same thing with eggs or potatoes. (Not sure about fruits since never found more than two of same in an island)
4) most starter island have a potential max of 2 cloth. Use 1 for all and 1 for smoker. Manage your rocks so you can make the fireplace and keep your knives and axes. Rocks and cloth are big limiters. This may mean that you may be best using you emergency raft to get to next island so you can create sails and canopy. ( or make a loom once you have extra lashings available!)
For the Farming Every Plant Trophy, you don't need Wooden Plank plots, I have a mix of Plank and Steel Scrp plots, what SOME are missing is the Wuvaluva plant. I say this because people are being told it's NOT needed (when it really is) because it has no uses in game (unlike Pipi, Yucca, Aloe, and the others). That's half true. Yes Wuvaluva has no use for consumables, but it's SOLE use is to unlock the trophy. Thus far at least.

Once you clean out an island go back and spawn in a new island to your map, endless supplies, great for once you've completed the game and just want to build some crazy island resort
For bats: I have a custom Island with short palm trees and use my torch to look for them, then just use my axe or knife. It's easier.
Well it's unfortunate that bats aren't required for anything in the game other than some meat if you want it 😛

For the Seafarer achievement, as long as you just go to sleep on the raft w your sleeping bag you’re safe. It won’t void if you go back to land, it will only void if you sleep on land and not above water on your raft.

Dont use the hobo for practicing cooking. Build the smoker and smoke meat, it will also raise the skill and the smoked meat doesnt go off, you can eat it later.
You could do that, but it's slower, you're gonna be smoking larger meats later on when you're more established anyway so all the mini meat you've got on the starter island isn't particularly worth doing.

I smashed the whole game in 1 week. I'm at 105 days. Every island discovered. There was only 2 survivors all up. I looted them both. And the only trophy I need to get is another one bites the dust. Any ideas why I haven't got it yet.
Check the islands again, you may actually have 3 survivors but one of them may be really small and barely visible unless you're close up, one of mine was near a tree and looked exactly like a wreck next to a rock but it was a camp.
Apparently you gotta search 3 survivor remnants. I only had 2. Plus islands discovered are at 24/25.

I have exactly the same problem as you, I discovered all islands on my map and only 2 survivors camps found out of the 3 for the trophy I do not understand yet I went back to all the islands to find it and nothing, there must be glitch in a rock or under the ground I don't know but I'm sadly because is the last trophy for my platinum.
@@quentinbury5432 I just restarted another gane in a new save slot. Next time around I found 3 survivor shelters and the trophy unlocked.

I got that seagulls trophy just by playing it was one of the first to pop so there’s no rush . I’d say it’s almost unmissable.
Yeah it's a weird one, I got it on day 2 on one of my playthroughs and then day 9 on the other, it's just something that happens 😂

As soon as I stepped of the island at the very beginning of the game the ‘seagull’ trophy popped. Easy game this I thought how wrong I was 😉😀
For the trophy to not sleep on land for 10 days, I just stayed on land but didn’t sleep and it popped
But my biggest issue in this game is I have 3 trophy’s left that I’m working on. One of them being to craft every item in the game. I have one item left that I need a Kura Fruit for which I can’t find for the life of me lmao I’m really not trying to start a new game just for that one item 😬
@@Mikealtman8 The fruits are really tricky to see! I'd suggest you go to the cartographer menu and mess with a custom island so it basically just has Kura Fruit on it so you can get them easier, you may have to stick to the island for a while for them to grow.

Say mate if I put the animals on passive does it disable trophies?
Nope, putting them on passive just means they won't attack you, even disabling the animals won't disable trophies, just means certain animals won't spawn, you can change it at any time when you're in game.
Do u still kill them and get things like leather etc from the sharks?
@@jaja8951 It'll be harder to find the sharks since they'll often be in deeper water if you're on passive, but if you can manage to kill them they'll still drop their resources, it's just much harder to do.
@@KlyeKlyeKlye I found a long thin slow swimming shark but I couldn’t kill it for some reason. I did get the big groupers though. I’ll check to see if I am on passive or maybe ‘no animals’ which might mean no sharks 👍
These Survival games they are marathon for Platinum. I rather personal skip it and enjoy as a game.
I think with a lot of these styles of games the dev's intention is to make it so you'd play the game once naturally and then your second playthrough would be the one where you'd try to do all the weird stuff you never did on your first go, sort of like a challenge run.
The sun and moon rotations aren't to scale. It's at a 45 degree change. Use the waves as a compass. Waves always travel south. So if the waves are coming at you then you know you're going north.

@@KlyeKlyeKlye there's a video a guy who figured out all the different ways to navigate. Did a deep analysis of the sun and moon.
@@qwertyASDF47 sd south I don't think the waves are going perfectly south but it's also the same direction and very close to south. I was able to get the no compass trophy by just looking at waves. I built my base facing south too which I think helped.
24:00 - After fighting with the "Two of Each" trophy, it appears that you don't need to bring two giant crabs. Catching two tiny crabs and having them in your inventory, when you go out into the storm, is enough to pop the trophy.
That bit of saving of weight makes a big difference, when trying to get the raft to sea, with the other 6 animals on board!

@@jaja8951 Coconuts mainly, and if you have any fruits or potatoes on your starting island then it's a good idea to start farming them. Coconuts should last you for 10 days though since there's usually quite a lot of them and you only need to eat 2 a day to stay healthy.
@@KlyeKlyeKlye Wait so no rations? Well, I sure am screwed. I used a compass and ate rations.
Easiest way to never run out of drinkable coconuts:
1. Peel two coconuts until they become drinkable.
2. Make a pile with these two coconuts
3. Pick up one drinkable coconut
4. drink, the coconut will become empty
5. Put the empty coconut back on the drinkable pile, and voila it has become a drinkable again, because the game can't differ in this scenario that the empty coconut on the pile is empty.
6. Rince and repeat but keep in mind the 2:10 rule. That means, drink two coconuts, keep an eye o. your watch and let 10 Ingame ingame minutes 10 real life seconds or better 11 seconds) past and you won't get diarrhea.
So you don't necessarily need to make a water distillary from the very. beginning. I always kept a pile of 4 drinkable coconuts per island as water resource, this way you save a lot of materials.
35:15 "I hear industrial is back in fashion". You only need to craft the 10 shelves - you don't need to keep them. So, after you craft one - you can destroy it, immediately. Even at low crafting levels, you will get 1 scrap back (at higher, you'll get both back). So, you only "need" 11 scrap to get this trophy - if you don't care about keeping all the shelves afterwards (I thought they looked ugly).
Corrugated scrap is much more useful when used to build farms - as they hold much more water.
I did this and the trophy did pop? I’ve built at least 20 shelves
I have built everything all on one play through not reloading or saving and turning off the game. The trophy Gotta Craft'em All is bugged. If you turn off the game all the browned Icons reset even if you save. Which means if you crafted the Boss wall Trophies already you are permanently locked out of the trophy. Even the belts reset too the first one and if you crafted all of them you are locked out of the Trophy permanently. This game if fun and I wanted too Platinum the game but if the game requires you too build everything all in one play through it's impossible or just not worth while. I'm a completionist and this erks me something fierce because I'm gotten 90% of the Trophies and I'm permanently locked out of this one hard working trophy.
For me the game allowed me to stop and start whenever I wanted and still got all the stuff done, but I have heard horror stories about things resetting or not tracking. I've heard if you play it on the PS5 then it can be worse but I can't confirm that.
Easy all 4 10 days at once. Collect beans and coconuts. Food handled. Dont leave island. Hermit handled. Dont sleep for 10 days. You didnt sleep on land for 10 days. All 4 in one go.
Easy animals on raft in storm. Remove a couple floor pieces in raft it makes a recessed area that holds the dead animals.
Dont use gyrocopter it has a compass.
Crops is fixed. Make steel ones holds more water.
For crafting destroy things after yyou build them and get your stuff back. That way the 10 metal items costs only 2 total if you have crafting lvl 7
@25:00 you don't have to sleep off of land for the achievement, just build a elevated building on land and don't sleep on the sand or grass and you'll be good.
The seafarer trophy i think it's glitch for me. Stayed on my raft for 10 days and nothing😤
Well it won't pop if you're raft was in the water that has the coral... it has to be DEEP water and use a sleeping bag to sleep, but what I did was "I just didn't sleep" at all for ten days and the trophy still popped (It's a pain as you cannot run and you cannot heal yourself if you are exhausted... I hid behind trees to avoid the sun in the day and went to work at night). Also I heard that custom islands can void some trophys from poping so I just avoided creating them all together to be safe. :/
25:50 - The Seafarer (not sleep on land for 10 days) trophy. You can combine this with the starting trophies (the 10 day on one island, 10 days not eating fish etc...). If you never choose to sleep, at a shelter/sleeping bag, then that satisfies this trophy too. So, you don't need to fiddle around with a sleeping bag on a raft and ensuring you have enough supplies - just stay on the single island, with everything you need to survive!
The downside, of this, is that you will become tired. While tired, you cannot run or swim fast. Also, it is a "condition" - so you will not heal, if you get injured. Still, on the starter island with passive animals - this shouldn't be an issue. The other downside is that you can't pass time by sleeping. Personally, I did all of these trophies on my "main island" - where I had brought lots of supplies and had farms up and running (for Kura fruit, which is great for food), so I had plenty to do during days.
I had all the animals on the boat ready to go, even the giant crabs ( not two little ones in my inventory as suggested, great tip 👍) and when I heard the storm coming I ran and got myself out on the water, trophy popped np’s
Seafarer was stressing me out, i finally stocked enough stuff up to stay on raft for 10 days and the trophy popped first night😊
My first island had no sticks 😂 Immediate reset.

I really wish I knew about the cartographer, making your own island thing, before I went for the 10 days trophies. I survived 10 days on the starter island without sleep, without meat and without fish all in 1 go. I got 4 trophies all in 1 go, I think. It took me a couple of tries, because on the first try, I got poisoned on day 7, and managed to make it to day 9, 2 in game hours before day 10, then died. I also didn't remember when I last saved before I got poisoned, so I just hoped I'd live, but I didn't. Turns out I'd save just recently, so it was all pointless.
While I loved the guides and will use some of the tips, I’m going to try plat the game 100% without cheating in loot loaded islands. Feel like I want to do it the way a normal play though would
So to answer your question about making fuel from spuds, the answer is yes. Basically, we're creating ethanol in the game. You can use potatoes but there are other crops that can be used for better results. From the little research I did, you will probably have to tweak the engines you are wanting to use it in a bit, and there's a bit of work to it but it can be done.

Ok so i need help quickly, i took the compas to my inventory and never to my hand and trew it on the ground does that count as me using it?? Help please so i can start new one if so
I believe since the description of the trophy to not "use" it then you'd need to activate the compass, does the compass start opened up or do you have to press something to open it? If you had it in your hand and you could see the actual needle and markings then it's better to restart.

Dont know for sure, but i am pretty certain that just having the compass in your inventory once will mess up The trophy.

I heard the gyrocopter will void the complete game without a compass trophy. also the no sleeping on land trophy i just stayed awake on land for 10 days and received the trophy, the only draw back to no sleep I found was you couldn't sprint.
I used the gyrocopter quite frequently for supply runs and the no compass trophy popped for me, the compass is it's own item so I doubt the chopper will have anything to do with that, but it would definitely suck if that happened.
Staying awake for the 10 days is a good method, but you're right about the lack of sprinting, that can be a bit of a hinderance.
@@KlyeKlyeKlye From what i've read something about the built in compass in the panel, But most of those are pc from earlier versions. So it may not apply anymore.

With the coconut use the 2 10 rule drink or eat 2 half's the wait 10 in game minutes which is 10 seconds and then do it again and nothing will happen to you

I normally end up restarting my game a few times before I get a decent starting island on one island I found 4 crates as it had 3 ship wreaks and 2 of the crates had engine parts and fuel cans
And one more questions do i need to get the little crabs, seaguls and bats for the trophy??
You only need to skin and cook a crab for 2 trophies, the 4 land animals are the Boar, Hog, Night Snake and Giant Crab

not a bad guide but i wish it was 2x-3x longer with more info im so confused on alot of things lots of missing things here and there
Something else I found out. You can craft the corrugated shelves, then destroy them for both scrap back. You can then recreate and redestroy for all 10 shelves and it counts having "placed" 10 iron furniture for only 2 scrap. Hope that made sense.

Bit of a late reply here but would this count for everything else that you need to build such as walls, stairs, windows, roofs etc ? Eg: build stairs out of wood then knock it down & then build one with iron & so on ? i mean as long as it has the little brown background thing you should be good to go for the trophy yeah ?
@GTA Veteran I think so, but it's been so long, I don't remember. Got the Plat Trophy and left it to never look back. Love the concept of the game but in practice the game started to feel more of a slough.

If you haven't already, then for a more rewarding, yet challenging series of games, I highly recommend the FromSoft games.
Here's a tip I learned about the raft put the sail that go forward in the direction of your rudder if you craft a large raft it will make it easier to see when using it
I have got some fantastic buildings built on the island and they are all covered in lanterns hanging on hooks. Las Vegas eat ur heart out but I am going to have to start the game again for the Plat Kyle. I have been round the map 5 times now and I haven’t seen one boat turned upside down for the scavenge trophy and Wallie is nowhere to be seen grrrr Cheers 👍

For Mr squid, I suggest hiding under your raft, same thing applies but you don't have to clip through it unless you need air but the rest of the bosses, perfect. For all the plants, sometimes you'll need to go plant at a unexplored island for it to work so just incase. For the plane...I didn't know it was glitched...DAMN IT, I have to replay anyway cause for the compass trophy and remains (there's 3 survivor remains along the 25 islands and sometimes one of them won't spawn or will spawn inside the environment, so you'll just have to start a new seed and make a raft and just save and sail to the islands and your watch will always say 24 islands explored, also a glitch) and to keep track of which islands you've explored I suggest taking a photo and cross out which island you've explored with photo edit and just draw a X (I've done this mainly for a side quest of mine, empty each island of all it's resources and my other side quest is to collect every shark) just a idea if you finished the game and got no idea what to do next

Can you save game, use compass and then exit game and reload, or will that negate the trophy?
Interesting idea, I don't think that would void the trophy but then again the compass isn't *that* useful, especially not for a quick glance, if you really want to use a compass, build the Gyrocopter
I took the compass out but never equipped it I dropped it out in the water so I didn’t accidentally pick it up. Am I good or am I gonna have to do another play through after I beat the game?
For safety it would be best to start a new game, but the description does state "without using" and you technically didn't use it, but then again, games can be pricks!

I wanna ask you something, if i use Compass and exit the game without a save, it will affect the trophy?
That's not something I've tested myself, but if you didn't save then surely the game wouldn't track any compass usage. Given the horror stories I've heard I'd suggest you just avoid the compass completely in every way, but you're probably safe

One of the fruits does not spawn in the entire map...
This trophy is such BS
Some of the fruits have very tiny plants and due to the way the game generates the islands it can clip inside of other things. If you make more custom islands you can set it so that the island only spawns with 1 type of fruit so every island will have it's own unique fruits / herbs. That comes with it's own downsides however so it's always a bit of a gamble.

Hi Kyle, is this game known for glitches as my Gyrocopter has gone for a dip a few times. Also I have gone back to my last save and the chopper had GONE 😳Had to swim to the next island and I have meticulously gone through the crafting order but the trophy won’t pop. A great game but something isn’t quite right with the game grrrr 👍😀
There are quite a few glitches in the game but I'm not quite sure what triggers them, I personally only had some very minor glitches but I've heard some people having all sorts of problems. You might be better off either crafting every single item again or perhaps making a new save and trying to get it done that way. Make sure you craft all the boss trophies and the little things that are easy to miss like crafting Planks from the Plank Station and making all the medicinal recipes
@@KlyeKlyeKlye Kyle I am so sorry, for as much as I said I was meticulous in crafting the items for the gold trophy 🏆 I missed one ‘the gauze’ in the consumables list. Apologies to u and the Beam Team developer’s my fault. I got wallie on the seed 9,000,000 code but only 2/9 of the scavenger trophy was on all 25 of the islands. So it will need a new game also I accidentally used that flaming compass instead of dropping it I pressed X instead of O

What about the trophy for scavenging all ship wreckage? How many of those are there? I am currently at 24
There is no trophy for scavenging all wrecks since wrecks are random and you could put wrecks in or take them away using the cartographer menu. What you're looking for is Survivor Remnants, the things with skeletons inside, there's usually only about 3-4 of those

I swear there was a trophy for scavenging on shipwrecks. Thank you for responding :) I am on Day 219 and I haven't changed anything with the Cartographer. 31 shipwrecks scavenged.

Great guide! I really like how casual and thorough he explained everything. This game was free for PS+ in May of last year and I remember doing a lot of these, but just happened to notice I never fully completed it for the platinum. Guess I’ll try diving back into it to try again…

Just a question, wouldn’t you be able to change the starting Island to have more resources? Also when you start should you go to your other islands before starting the 10 days?
I believe the starter island is randomised every time and you can't edit it, but you could definitely get to the island, grab a few resources and then go to one of your custom ones for better resources and get to work on your base there. Although the starter island is dead centre of the map and you generally have everything you need to get started right away so it makes navigation a bit easier in the future.

Yup, every single thing in the crafting menu, it can be a bit daunting but you'll have most of them crafted before you know it, you can also use an Axe to destroy them once they're build for some materials back, so Chairs, Tables and Shelves can be destroyed mainly so you can build more important things.

I know this game is random but does the game at one point take u to where u have to build the aeroplane to finish. Or do u have to find it? I am trying to do the game without using the compass. Cheers
If you go to the cartographer menu you can look for the red skull that says "A Way Out" and that'll be where your plane is, if you're on the centre island then you can navigate to it quite easily, the island the plane is on is also very unique in terms of visuals, it's just a huge battleship so you'll end up finding it eventually.
@@KlyeKlyeKlye ok friend I’ll look for it. It’s a great game but my first raft I built I had the sail down as I pulled it of the shore the wind caught it and it was ….. GONE! 😳😂 before I got on it. The 2nd raft was all hunky dory with six boxes on it and just a spit from the next island it capsized and I lost THE LOT! But it’s great I love it Cheers Kyle 👍
@@jaja8951 I lost my raft original raft as well, forgot to anchor it when diving for a boss fight and when I popped back up it was gone. Thankfully a few hours later I found it again drifting by an island, so I had 2 rafts =P
After floating about for a while I found the Squid. I loaded up 24 harpoon spears as u said but I never got near half in taking him out I did miss a few but this guy is tough. I saved the game on a sleeping bag at the closest island I might need to go back and load up another load. Cheers Kyle great video 👍😀

@@salqasim6 You need to make each island separately, so once one island is done and filled with goodies you can then save the island and go to the "New Island" tab to make another one, then once you have 4 islands saved you go to the World Editor section and place your islands down.
