    Quincy Wilson never stood a chance with that lane. Probably would’ve placed top 5 with a wider lane placement.

    Dude why are you taking about Matt Boling! He was a High School sensation and that’s it. Let’s talk about this kid that is still in high school who has broken all the high school records and ran down boling and some other professionals and got 6 with an opportunity to still go to Paris as a leg on the 400 relay and you taking about Matt Boling.

  • @inawisdom3658

    Norwood and Quincy Hall placed third and fourth last year in Budapest, Norman is one of the best in 400 history so you should be able to speak on others then just Matthew Boling. Yes, he’s your favorite yet he’s not alone as the best in these races. It’s your blog but our clicks and views support you to give knowledgeable feedback. I’m so proud to see U18 world record holder Quincy Wilson run and place as well as he did.

    Note the stats in the final frame of this video. Both Michael Norman and Matthew Boling ran the first 200 meters too fast. Norman ran 20.90, and Boling ran 20.92, when the ideal time for running a 44-flat is about 21.30. NOTE that Norman ran his 2nd 100 meter split in an INSANE time of 10.09 seconds, which is waaaay too fast to have enough stamina for the homestretch. Chris Bailey ran the most "balanced" and even race of all.

      Everyone has to run their own race. What’s good for one runner may be a terrible idea for another.

    Bruh Matt Boling is tying up ridiculously. Form doesn’t matter if you tense up insanely hard. Quincy Wilson’s form is wonky but he’s much more fluid and relaxed in the last 60 meters.

      @phoebus 3 дні тому +1

      What happened is Boling went out trying to make the the top three, but went way too fast in the opening 200 and because of that faded badly at the end. If he had forgotten about everybody else in the race and just ran the same race as he did in the semis he would have finished 6th.

    Matthew Boling went out too fast. I think he was trying to keep the distance between himself and Norman the same. That's why he ran considerably slower than in the first round heat and in the semis. They'll probably not pick him for the relays but time will tell.

    • @phoebus
      @phoebus 3 дні тому +2

      Boling ran 10.68 for the first 100m on the bend, that's insane for a 400m. He was still in 2nd place at 300m, but going out that fast he had nothing left for the end of the race.

    • @WarmSprung

      Matthew ran a great race from a shitty lane. Almost ran a PR

    • @WarmSprung
      @WarmSprung 2 дні тому +1

      Boling ran a great race and almost had a PR. He has only been running the 400 for a year. He is overweight and doesn’t have the endurance of a 120 lb QuincyWilson. Notice most of the 400 finalist are very thin and probably have a BMI less than 23

    Boling still has plenty of potential. Just screwed up his strategy today.
    Someone commented that he should switch to the decathlon. I agree. He would be a formidable all rounder. He's still young enough to train up.

  • @KenWAnderson
    @KenWAnderson 2 дні тому

    Matt was doing well up to the 225-250 point and then he seized up and couldn't keep the earlier pace. This would indicate that the shorter distances are more suitable for him, but even there he may not be competitive enough for his competition.

    Given Erriyon was just caught doping I think there will a move to test these younger athletes like Quincy more stringently. Many people seem to suggest the stamina of Quincy to run three heats in the 44 range is a doping sign. I don't know if that's true and I hope it's not but I want to see clean sport and I am very disappointed in Erriyon. I'm no expert but if Erriyon doesn't qualify for Paris that'll be a huge flag.

He's among d best 4 or 5 US current sprinters currently in d 100,200 or 400meters‼️
