That vani cream moisturizer single handily helped my skin repair after over exfoliation. I wish they had a thicker version of it not the original vani cream but a thicker more occlusive version of that specific formula. The original vani cream doesn’t hydrate at all for me it actually makes my skin feel dry.
The one in the tub dries you out? That one has petrolatum in it and it's thicker than the daily facial one. It's been so helpful when my eczema flares up, contact dermatitis or any skin barrier issues.
The Vichy Mineral 89 Face Serum Prebiotic ❤per your suggestion has been my Life Raft ever since you were the first Dermatologist who ever spoke about it! It’s always sold out at CVS! I try to buy as many I see when it’s on the shelf! I have Rosacea Combination Finicky Skin. Thank you!
If you like a gel cream, the versed dew point moisturizing gel cream is really nice. I have dry skin, so I only use it in the summer in the morning, but that and the inkey list water cream are my 2 faves for summer mornings. I also have very sensitive, rosacea skin and right now I am really enjoying the Neutrogena daily facial moisturizer for sensitive and reactive skin. It is affordable, a good size tube, non-irritating and fragrance free. I love it because it is a simple, elegant, non-heavy formula but it also contains ingredients such as niacinamide that I have found to be very beneficial for my skin. I am surprised I don't hear anyone talking about it.
I've used the LRP double repair and liked it. Elf has several creams/moisturizers that would seem nice like their holy hydration, happy hydration, superhydrate gel (and they have fragrance free versions) and maybe the aveeno calm and restore oat gel moisturizer is supposed to be nice as well for most skin types.
I was hesitant to try LRP's Lipikar AP+M formulation because of it being a face + body moisturizer. I previously used CeraVe's PM at night with my retinol... and WOW. I definitely agree with Dr. Liu; it keeps my skin hydrated throughout the night, whereas CeraVe's PM lotion would have me feeling dry and tight. FYI I have dry skin year-round
I love Cerave products but the lotion was not hydrating enough for my pm routine, that includes tretinoin. So I tried the Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream and it is perfect. I wait 30 minutes to let the tretinoin absorb fully before using the night cream. I have dry skin though - someone who has oily skin might not need that much hydration other than in winter.
Hi Dr. Jenny, I LOVE your content! What’s your opinion on skin care containing milk?? My grandma recommended some to me, and I see them in stores, but haven’t seen a Derm talk about it? My skin concerns personally is acne, acne scars/blemishes, and uneven skin tone. Thanks if you read this. Keep up the wonderful content! ❤😊
Thank you! Milk can offer some soothing benefits and we don’t have studies on milk and skin care, causing acne I would say the risk is low the line that I have tried that contains a goat milk from Kate Somerville is very hydrating, and I like it
I really wish there were more options for hyaluronic acid free moisturizers here in Canada. My skin is just too sensitive to HA and makes me skin flake. The only moisturizer that worked for me was FAB but looking for cheaper drugstore options
I love the Vanicream & Cerave one, but only for summer… they do not work for me in winter. They’re too light and cause my skin to burn in the winter, from the hyaluronic acid.
@@TheTruth4313 it’s the hyaluronic acid in them, it can be beneficial, but also known to cause burning and irritation. Too much of it too often is usually what leads to it, or if the skin barrier is already compromised.
I completely agree! Soooo much better without that loud repetitive music/beat going, altho it is still there, softly in the background, so if you're watching in a silent environment, it is there- still annoyingly repetitive, but not so much that I can't pay attention to the content and before, I couldn't finish watching it unless it was in the bathroom with the Loud exhaust fan going to drain out the horrible background beat/music.
Appealing in texture, appearance and feel. In pharmacy school I learned how to make (compound) creams and ointments creating the little swirl on top sort of like an ice cream cone 😊

@@ixchel231yes for some reason when I use it I wake up with dry flakes around my mouth and it also makes my eyes water
@@simplybri3608 hmm, that's odd, too bad 😔..it has a expiration date if you check out tub. Maybe it went bad.
Yes it’s amazing, a thicker one would be so good for my skin. The cream one unfortunately broke me out

One of my all time favorites it’s the eucerin skin balancing night cream. It’s so great. Not greasy at all.

Excellent video! So thorough and helpful 👍🏻

Cetaphil intensive healing lotion with ceramides is the best drugstore moisturizer I've tried
I love the TIL omega water cream for summer and LRP for winter. ❤
They are both so good

I heard Prequel creams are amazing
The Cetaphil Rough & Bumpy looks great. What about the Gold Bond Face & Body Lotion with retinol?
If you want a moisturizer that does not contain hyaluronic acid, the La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair is one.

CeraVe PM causes my skin to burn/sting too. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water gel and cream do also. Wish I knew why.

Every product you recommend has the dreaded Niacinamide which I’m allergic to.!
I hear you Liz, niacinamide and my skin do not gel ;)
Just saying. So nice without background music, although I am a musician.

Yes you can
