Thanks! Working on a project Jeep with this issue. Watched your video and went to the garage - 30 minutes later and it's fixed.
very cool
Thank you so much! I had an issue with my light dimmer not brightening up and this did the trick! Thanks for saving me $129 for a new one.
Thanks.. also works if you're having problems with the VIC and radio lights... the solder connections start to wear loose.
Muchas gracias, It worked for me. Thank you, all the way from Mexico
Excelente video .me ayudó mucho a solucionar el problema de luces de tablero de instrumentos de mi Grand Cherokee. Gracias por compartir tus conocimientos.
Thanks
Thanks man! I could'nt get my hands on a used OR new switch so this helped me ALOT! 🤘
Awesome! bad solder in the vic to! causes the "coolant sensor bad" code, If you own a grand cherokee zj get yourself a soldering iron you'll need it
Had also in the VIC
took me 20min. to fix it. Problem solved. So thankfull for this easy solution!
Great clip! I was about to buy the switch, since I have to remove the same items, I'll inspect those connections first. Thank you!!!!
Thanks. Your way looks super easy.
Thank You, great vid! You saved me at least $40!!
Thanks...
Very easy fix, thanks for the great info and video!
Thankyou !
My solder looked fine so expected this totaly not to work .. couldnt believe it i got my dipped beam back and saved 30 quid buying a 20 year old second hand one from ebay
my switch was acting up this helped me fix two my original one and one purchased at the junk yard that had the same problem
Glad this helped
Thank you! … I’ll try it and check out my non working VIC too.
Worked like a charm.
cool I'am glad
I myself would have done this to ALL of the pins on the board.
Saved me $140 on a new switch. I'd consider myself a amateur solder-er and this worked on the first try
It definitely worked for me!👍🏻 thanks for the great tip.
Nope not the cause of my problem. I have 98 laredo, exact same switch. The dash, radio, console all interior lights and head lights dim up and down randomly. Had the dang switch replaced and still not fixed. The current switch box is here on my desk and all looks fine. I can't find the grounding wire for all this anywhere behind the dash so far. I'm hoping when I do find it there is a weak grounding and I can fix that easily but till then I'm still searching for WHY my dash keeps dimming.
Great video and very helpful, thank you! Doing it now!
Good luck
Just gonna buy a new switch, too lazy to do all of this lol but good video bro
thanks ....you can do it
Hey, so I have a similar problem, but no flickering whatsoever. I just re soldered all my cracked connections, but I am s still unable to get my lights any brighter than the minimum. Anything I can do besides buy a new one?
hi...does the slider dimmer do anything when you move it up or down...could be gunked up. also...the VIC in these have broken solder connections too usually.
My 97 Larado switch is bad, and it causes my factory alarm to go off flashing my lights, i suspect this could be the issue thanks
Many thanks for this video sir! A question: Can this also be the reason to weak headlights? (i know NOTHING about car electrics) :)
yes...mine were dim before going out completely
nice fix but you should use a little bit of flux to make soldering easier.
yes this is true
