It's March 2020 and I've just found this video. This Canon is my all-time favourite piece of Baroque music and this performance is absolutely stunning! It deserves many more views than 113k. Who are those 12 dislike people? The video quality is poor, but this is a masterpiece of music. Simply close your eyes and LISTEN...
The Canon, in my opinion, is the most beautiful piece of music ever composed. I am amazed that people the world over still are finding unique ways to present it. I am drawn to the simplicity and majesty of this particular rendition. More than wonderful to hear, this rendition is so soothing to watch!
The beauty of Canon they play with exquisite skill is immeasurable, and off the charts, and embodies the musical aesthetics of Pachelbel, and generates impression and comfort and pleasure and admiration
Beautiful performance and lovely music here. I've always loved the hammered dulcimer, but this is the first time hearing multiple dulcimers being played at one time.
These ladies are truly artists. Their music is hauntingly beautiful. I really could listen to them for hours. Fine music, fine wine and beautiful women -- what more could a mere mortal like me ask for?
Seven reasons why this is the best dulcimer video on youtube, although it is only 240p: 1.) No other instruments were used 2.) No playback music was implemented 3.) The Pachelbel's Canon has a great melody 4.) CCTV and still no typical and poor special effects 5.) CCTV and still no typical and conformal jabbering 6.) Asian TV and still the focus is on the magnific music and not on the magnific musicians 7.) Most of us fought hard to find this hidden video
I really like Pachelbel's Canon. Back in the early 90's, I was obsessed with it so much that I collected different versions from vinyl LPs, cassette tapes, and a few CDs. CDs were kind of a new thing then and I didn't have a CD player, but one of my friends did along with a great sound system. He helped me copy some onto cassette and I had about a dozen Then his brother surprised me with another whole cassette filled with different versions. I still have that cassette, but no cassette player. =(
I wonder if they could play Frank Mills' "Music Box Dancer" on the yangin. They could play it super fast. I bet it would sound awesome! Let's start a write-in request for "Music Box Dancer"! :D
WoW !!!.😱😱😱Only This year..2021.did I hear of the Dulcimer.!!.😃I'm Soo glad I've had the Opportunity to hear if such Beautiful Instrument.!!.this piece of music goes Amazing on a Dulcimer.!!.😱😱🙂❣️❣️❣️❣️Thankyou players 😱🙏❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️xx
Don't forget that it requires excellent musicians to make excellent music (or "fabulous" if you wish)... Never sell the musicians short. You can buy and play a cd if all you want is "fabulous music" and not give the musicians any love. They's get paid royalties (hopefully) from your purchase, but there's nothing like live music performed well.
good version. I like having a bunch of dulcimers on it. Also much better effect with young and lovely musicians. I've played it solo on h.d. and it really sounds kind of thin (and old). Anybody seen the Pachelbel rant on You Tube? Hilarious if you've played this tune more than 1,000 times.
wow, could not be even epsilon better. I hope to find out who is the grandmother for Dulcimer ( Santur in Persian). Originally, was played from Greece to China.
Corrections: Pieces One does not simply have a subject and a predicate separated by a period. One also does not have five periods......................
One of my favourite peices of music. Played by robots with no more feeling or depth than a production line. A pretty scene but not worth a second play.....

From an American dulcimer player - I've watched hundreds of dulcimer videos and this may be the most exquisite performance I've ever seen.

Refreshingly different sound to Canon in D! It is amazing how different it can sound when played on different instruments.
I see 5 angels playing such beautiful songs for us.
Absolutely gorgeous and so....different.
For many years this tune was backing music for the UK wool trade adverts......
This piece was very wellknow, play by various kind of instruments, so marvelous!
Beautiful. Puts you in a different world. I never get tired of listening. Beautiful lady's.

Wirklich erstaunlich, was man mit Hackbrettern und guten Musikerinnen spielen kann.

How about u try to save up a bit and then u can afford a cassette player?
The best performance is Jean francois Paillard and the Paillard Chamber Orchestra. Try it. Pure Pachelbel, no embellishments or added notes.
Fabulous playing--such musicianship!
Beautiful. sounds outstanding. Embelishiments out of this world
I was just wondering the other day what several dulcimers would sound like and behold it happens 🤗👌❤ Beautiful
Here in 2024! FOREVER Pachabel xoxo
CONGRATULATIONS! -This performance is watched more than once every hour (29 times daily in average) since its publication on date 12/02/09!

What a superb performance
Just goes to show music knows no national or cultural borders.
Puzzoozoo
Cultural appropriation is a wonderful thing, and don't let anyone tell you differently!😉
Tiffany Petersen
Appropriation is quite a harsh word for sharing culture.
It just goes to show that Asians love something White people invented: Western music.
Aeimos lool put your white superiority out you ego inflated youngling
I remember this from my childhood, not necessary dulcimers, such a lovely piece.

I love Asia. So many fantastic cultures and takes on each other's culture. Even getting some new tricks from the West.
Thanks for this momment of peace that this music transmit to our hearts.!!!
so beautiful!
The melody just tortures you with emotion.
It's a chinese dulcimer. But it sounded, slightly like a small mix of italian due to that tremolo sound it made.
Overall I think it is very soothing.
Btw, Chinese loooove tremolos 轮音 you can find it in almost every popular piece
Excelente versión.
Lovely
非常好听!

What does "fried rice" have to do with a beautiful musical piece?
Enchanting. :)
CCP said that they recently discovered that this music is part of Chinese culture and that they invented it.
source pls
I am not shocked.

What is the instrument called in Chinese?

This may have been asked earlier but why are there five people playing a four part piece?
Extra dynamics, I'd assume.
One of the part is playing the harpsichord part, the basso continuo.
Anybody know who they are and where this was done??
ffjsb They are students from China Conservatory of Music :D
Khai Zhan Yuong Thanks.
great china number one
低音正
entirely in playback... sorry.
pretty obnoxious comment
Where my fried rice?

It's a playback track...not live...
One of my favourite peices of music. Played by robots with no more feeling or depth than a production line. A pretty scene but not worth a second play.....
Well, the Chinese are good at being robots with no feelings.
