Says everyone about the decade of music in their formative years. 😊 For me it’s the 70s. For others it’s the 80s, etc. The truth is that every decade had a lot of classics, but mostly there were mediocre tunes and also a lot of crap. 😊
1969 I was 10-I'm 63now ...and LOVE this one even more so! the Lyrics dedicated to my Husband that even now 35 years later I'm in LOVE as if it were yesterday... even better I see and feel that the Thrill of being so are Mutual. I remember LuLu :To Sir with Love.
Lulu always had a great and dynamic voice full of to the point energy and sincere power. This song is one of my favorites by her. It should have been number 1 on the charts and definitely top 10. Number one in my book and one of those under rated songs.
Lulu... sure knew how to dress for the part. Her cardinal and gold outfit, stands out well against the shadows. Lulu's " walking dance ", is as sexy as it is entertaining. One of the finest early videos, that I have seen.
You will be amazed to learn that I only "discovered" her several months ago, when I found "The Boat that I row" here on youtube. I remember liking the theme song of "Man with the Golden Gun" from years ago, having no idea whatever that she was the one singing it.
Man I just LOVE this version done So Good by Lulu! She just reaches Into my Heart with that Pure Urgency in her Voice as she belts Out the chorus.........oh My. Thank you for Posting this Beauty 🎸💚
Beautiful song and video, I bumped into lulu many times in london (my hometown) she is great lady, part of the 60 real music culture, thank's for sharing.
LuLu really knew what she was doing in this great video. Her Red and Gold outfit, stands out well against the shadows. Her looks, mannerisms and " dance walking " are sexy as heck. Today, we bow down to the likes of Lady GaGa and JayLo. There's no comparison to this great singer and actress ! LuLu, you pop my cork !!
I always new Lulu could sing, but I saw her on tv a Blues special/documentary once (can't seem to find it now?) and she was singing the blues and I tell you she was as good as it gets, she blew my mind!
I saw her, more than a few times, in Glasgow, before Shout came out. A very underated singer - her hero was Alex Harvey (say no more, just listen to Alex in his pre- SAHB soul & r'n'b days and his version of Shout). Also at that time the wonderful Maggie Bell was on the Glasgow scene. Lulu made the decision to take Marion Massey's advice and what a career - movies, her own television shows (look up the famous Hendix one)., stage shows - she's done the lo,t has wee Marie. Even won the Eurovision. A number one in the States, too.
Lulu and Dusty both have that fabulous rasp in their voices and could probably sing each other's songs lol..Lulu was terribly under rated and should have recorded more but To Sir With Love was her anthem.
Not underrated at all she was a MASSIVE star but it all happened so young from age 15 but when you consider she was about 29-30 here she had a pretty long stint at the very top here and across Europe with a few hits in the US so not underrated at all .
68,69 there was too much competition. Elton John, David Bowie, Rolling Stones, Doors, Joe Cocker, Janis, Hendrix, Jackson 5, Bee Gees, The Who, Dylan, Jefferson Airplane, all at their peaks. It was 2-3 years in music that creativity sprouted.
WOW!... so nice..... LuLu and this video makes me want to be young and back in the 60's again so bad!..... LuLu inspires me to get a new t shirt and hit the treadmill. Does she inspire you?
Here I am, again, watching the lovely LuLu singing this masterpiece. At least once a year, I watch this video, it reminds me of much better times, when I was young, and riding my ‘70 Triumph Bonneville with this song playing in my head, on a warm Autumn day. If I could only experience that again.
I agree that she was underrated. That smokey/rough tinge to her voice along with lots of power and emotion in her delivery was mature beyond her years. Like Cilla Black and Shirley Bassey, she should have been bigger here in the states.
I couldn't have said it better. I had really only been familiar with "To Sir With Love," so this performance is... well, like you said: Dynamite. Incredibly Soulful voice. I can't stop playing this song and I love the video.
Great song - very, very cool early video! Shot on film, probably with a Nagra providing playback for lip synch! Wow, sure wish I could have been part of making those vids. Thanks for posting!
oh me.....oh my! Stunning! Thank you for posting this. Just what is in the drinking water over there in England that these Brit songbirds have SO much soul?
Nasci em 61 e Graças a Deus vivi a melhor época da minha vida, ouvíamos músicas maravilhosas e essa era uma delas. Obrigada sou de São Paulo Brasil ❤❤❤❤
What a lovely video! I've got that record - it was Lulu's first for Atlantic Atco. Lulu's previous record was 'Boom Bang-a-Bang' for EMI Columbia - I've got that one, too!
@TheNickAllardyce It always amazes me, how you English chaps ( and chapettes ) really put out so much great music. I mean, The Beatles, The Stones, Eric Burton and of course LuLu. Well, the English invasion of the earlier 60s to be sure. I love listening to Paul as he is a trooper and The Stones still tour ! AMAZING !!
Video filmed in 1969 at the Chelsea Embankment walkway, north bank of the River Thames in West London, England - in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Chelsea Bridge can be seen in the background connecting Chelsea to Battersea.
Such a beautiful voice, I've always Loved her voice.
You can just see how much she is enjoying singing this song. She's putting her all into it. I love it.
Lulu is with out a doubt a priceless gift to this 🌎 world.
The sixties were and will always be the decade of pure inspiration in music creativity......
i second that....well said
"Kids today" definitely could pick up a few ideas from back then. Lulu was one.
I wish it was back so much. I was only 10 but was so better

This song is from the early 1970s, but still, point taken 😉
Im 57 years old
Dont ask me why but this song has stuck with me my whole entire life
1969 I was 10-I'm 63now ...and LOVE this one even more so! the Lyrics dedicated to my Husband that even now 35 years later I'm in LOVE as if it were yesterday... even better I see and feel that the Thrill of being so are Mutual. I remember LuLu :To Sir with Love.
I heard this song for the first time in over 40 years the other morning and the memorable refrain came instantly back.
What a vocalist and performer. I love the heart she has in her singing and performance!
It's a rare treat to see this video again.....and to hear this amazing artist sing this song.....
So beautiful. I was young back then. Thank you, Lulu. I carry that tune in my heart.
Always loved Lulu’s singing.
That is "soul" that you hear in hear in her voice.
No doubt!

She's so funny, so completely lovely and such a product of the best time there ever was in music industry.
what a great song from an underrated singer
"Underrated" is an UNDERstatement! She STILL rocks out! 2016!
You will be amazed to learn that I only "discovered" her several months ago, when I found "The Boat that I row" here on youtube. I remember liking the theme song of "Man with the Golden Gun" from years ago, having no idea whatever that she was the one singing it.
I agree!! Lulu was a great singer... love this original version over Aretha
She was always famous, especially with her hit "to sir with love"
Lulu under rated! right, and the Pope doesn't pray enough
Not just the song... but her amazing talent's on this " live " video.
That little girl has some set of pipes! She was a great performer.
Not only a rare video, but this is a completely different vocal from the record. Doubly rare!
Love me some LuLu. What songs. Love the 60's. What a voice.
Man I just LOVE this version done
So Good by Lulu! She just reaches
Into my Heart with that Pure
Urgency in her Voice as she belts
Out the chorus.........oh My.
Thank you for Posting this Beauty
🎸💚
underated singer
Standing overation for Lulu!
always loved Lulu and this song is my all time favorite!
Just love Lulu--and this, her best song.
@Branner I dig it. Her stance, walk dancing, gutteral singing voice and really, " The whole enchalada " of LuLu's performance here are outstanding !
This gal has one of the most beautiful voices of all time and this song demonstrates it.
Great song and great voice.

I love this song so much brings me back when I was young I will always love this song
Lulu and Dusty both have that fabulous rasp in their voices and could probably sing each other's songs lol..Lulu was terribly under rated and should have recorded more but To Sir With Love was her anthem.
Bob bsing Lulu was present at Dusty's funeral ( so was I!) and gave a very moving speech.
Jackie De Shannon too

We think alike, loved them both since the 60s! And also Jackie
Lulu's best. She remained extremely popular in the UK and likely the rest of Europe but, inexplicably, not the US.
Been searching this for so many years. Finally found
Lulu is fabulous and the song great!
Great movie! Great cast! Great soundtrack!
Heard this in a grocery store and thought it was Ronnie Spector, was kinda shocked it was Lulu when I looked it up. Very soulful performance
Always loved this song. Wish I had a karaoke track of this. But I enjoy singing with Lulu!
Amo essa canção e esse clip da Lulu. 1969...!❤
Melting my heart....😢❤️💜❤️🎵🎶 so nostalgic. 🎶🎵💜💜
Lulu is amazing she has a fantastic powerful voice
Thanks mezzomanUK for uploading this great video of beautiful Lulu. I love this track.
Incomparable! She should have been bigger in the U.S.

Thanks, She was a guest star on a Variety Show for this taped gem!
I used to sing this to my son when he was a baby.I love my son and this song.
Wonderful song and great star Lulu.
Lulu looks just like a women I dated in the '60's. I'll never forget some glorious nights we spent together. I have never forgotten her.

A wonderful video! Lulu! Yessss! Thank you for the post!
recorded at Muscle Shoals Studios , has that feel , great tune
I agree that she was underrated. That smokey/rough tinge to her voice along with lots of power and emotion in her delivery was mature beyond her years. Like Cilla Black and Shirley Bassey, she should have been bigger here in the states.
I love her she has that thing that's hard to explain. Dynamite does come in small packages.
I couldn't have said it better. I had really only been familiar with "To Sir With Love," so this performance is... well, like you said: Dynamite. Incredibly Soulful voice. I can't stop playing this song and I love the video.

Simplesmente maravilhosa, essa canção.
Gravada, originalmente, pelo B J Thomas e interpretada também, maravilhosamente, pela encantadora LuLu.
AND she ALWAYS sings live when it's possible!

I LOVE THIS SONG I REMEMBER IT ON WCFL RADIO IN 1968.
A great song by a great artist!!
Her best song ever way underrated
@TheNickAllardyce It always amazes me, how you English chaps ( and chapettes ) really put out so much great music. I mean, The Beatles, The Stones, Eric Burton and of course LuLu. Back when POP music was really POPPING.
This is my first time hearing this song and I love it already
