There used to be lots of free camping/rv sites in the Everglades. Now the state has taken them over and they are expensive. They also have blocked off many of the dirt roads as well. Things were so much better in Florida when I was younger. Nothing like people and guberment to ruin things.

New sub, excellent video! Definitely one of the best I've seen showing overviews of camping sites, and I've watched hundreds. Planning to start a multi-year van camping trip in about 6 months and your info will be very helpful. One thing I've noticed is that some areas do not allow sleeping in any vehicle that is not a true RV, that's one thing i'll need to watch out for. Thanks! 😁. ☮️❤️😎
Hey there, I just came across your video as I’m preparing to leave the Tampa area headed to Long Island NY for a month or so fishing. I’m living here in Dunedin FL full time now and thought I’d share an exception to many of the Florida waterfront areas and causeways that are public but close at sunset. If you have a valid fishing license and are actively fishing (meaning a baited line in the water) you are permitted to stay during the overnight hours when the area is technically closed. If I happen to go inside my truck camper and fall asleep for a few hours while I’m fishing this is technically not breaking the rules. Happy travels and I’m looking forward to looking at more of your content. The first spot on your list will be perfect for a fall fishing trip I already have planned.

@@LivingOurDreamNow I’m just comparing the fact that a lot of paid sites are almost impossible to get reservations for a year in advance, especially like Bahia Honda, but I was wondering if the majority of these free sites stay full all the time or if you could bank on finding a spot after an 8 hour drive. Also figure the majority of snowbirds always flock to full hookup area… so as a general rule of thumb, are there usually spots available in these types of places as they don’t have reservations 🤷♂️
Hello Lou. I came on this channel to ask you this question about free camping in Florida. I want to stay at Lake Panasoffkee WMA.
