@BUILDSeriesNYC I would probably ask Farouk Balsara about Claudio Monterverdi, period instruments, being formal vs being flamboyant, why he did not pursue like a career into Baroque opera with period instruments, whether British formal mannerisms is synonymous with royalty, 1967 recording of Vespro by Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Jurgen Jurgens as the best ex. of operatic singing(not an opera per se) with period instruments and chest singing, etc.

Very good interview. Lambert is both funny and very optismistic in his answers. Yes, we all would like to know what made Mercury tick, to have written such wonderful songs, but of course, we did not get any answers here, but surely would be questions we would want to ask Mercury!
He doesn't seem to know that much about Freddie. Freddie frequently wore tee shirts with the logos of his favorite gay bars. There are many pictures taken of him wearing them. He said, "I'm as gay as a daffodil." He was not cowering in any closet. He just didn't make a big deal about it. He was very smart about it and very subversive in the way he didn't make a big deal about it.
